“Cool, now I got a chance to survive.” Luis says after getting the gun.
“I think to find an escape route that is safe, it’s best if we split up. You can be sure that the front door will be a no-go. There is no telling what else will be in this place.” Angel says without totally finishing his sentence.
“I say you take the left hall while I go to the right.” Luis suggests.
“That sounds good to me, like it really matters anyway. Let’s meet up in the lobby if we can, ok?” Angel asks.
Luis nods his head as he leaves the room and goes to his right. Angel stays behind thinking about the one creature that has haunted him throughout his life since that fateful day back in 2007.
“Mr. Z, the only creature that has actually instilled fear into me. The one creature that never goes down no matter how much I shoot it, could it be it has come back for me. If there’s anything that has my life a nightmare has been that creature in the trench coat. After all, I still don’t know how to defeat it and the times I managed to survive were out of pure luck. I continue to wonder will my luck run out here. I sure hope not…” – Angel
After thinking about Mr. Z, Angel gathers himself and heads into the hallway to begin yet another nightmarish adventure.
Chapter 2
Angel’s Story
Walking out of the room, he turns to the left and begins to trek through the hallway once again. He decides to go back to where he found the dead body to see if he can gather some clues on what the guard was up to. Before he’s able to get to the stairway where he found the guard, a couple of zombies come out of room 403.
With his pistol, he begins to aim and shoot at the head of the zombies. The recoil of the pistol causes him to miss a couple of shots. The zombies do not go down and Angel runs out of rounds on the clip. Angel is forced to reload while one of the zombies walks faster towards him.
Angel is grabbed by the zombie and is bit on the left arm. He quickly pushes the zombie away before it can bite his arm any further and he loses no health. Angel finally reloads his pistol and shoots the zombies in the head killing them.

Seeing the lack of rounds in his gun, he realizes that he has to use his gun wisely. He walks into room 403 to see if he can see any useful items. Walking into the dark room, he hits the light switch to his right to turn the lights on. With the lights on, Angel is able to see a rather gruesome scene on the bed.
“Oh my god… What the hell happened in here and how did I not hear this?” Angel says out loud.
He sees two bodies mutilated and blood all over the floor. It looks like it was a couple that was enjoying a vacation together. Bite marks can be seen all over the bodies from the legs to the neck. Once takes in what he just saw, he begins to look through the room to see what he can find.
The room has the same design as his room, so everything from draws to closets is in the same location. Looking in the closet, he sees a couple of business suits that he checks the pockets of. Pulling a card out of the man’s business suit, he sees an ID for the CIA of the United States.
Looking through the female suit, he sees another ID card for the CIA. He begins to get the idea that perhaps the US government has begun an independent investigation on Hybrid, but he can’t be too sure. Continuing to look around in the hotel room, he opens a draw and finds a couple of things.
Picked up two Pistol Clips.
+18 Pistol Rounds. Pistol Ammo: 23
He also finds a note inside of the draw that he pulls out to read.
Orders from the CIA
“We have reason to believe what happened in NYC was no accident and Hybrid did everything intentionally. We also believe that the Raven Hawk and Broken Arrow viruses were never intended to be vaccines. The mutations that were created by those viruses were the intended final product.
We want you to go in posing a couple of people who are answering their job opening. Once you get through the front door security and complete the ‘interview’, you will be ordered to subvert their security. Gather as much evidence as you can, we’ll need it if we’re going to take down this behemoth. Ideally we love to have hard copies of any experiments, samples of their mutants, or even a sample of the Raven Hawk or Broken Arrow virus.
We do realize that getting any of those things could be difficult considering we need to keep a low profile. So pictures will be fine, although not necessarily enough to build a strong case.
You two are about to engage in a dangerous operation where the stakes are high. We wish you luck. After all, we need to put a stop to Hybrid before they harm anymore people.
I still can’t get over those poor people in New York who lost their lives and had to suffer because of one company’s greed. Rebuilding New York will come later, but first we have to stop the Hybrid Corporation.
P.S – (The words are scribbled over and unreadable).”

“What did the director mean by rebuilding? Is he referring to what happened last year or did something happen when I was gone? I hope Maria is ok?” Angel says in his head.
Wanting to make sure that Maria is ok, he tries to call her. The call goes straight to voicemail and he leaves a message.
“Hey Maria, it’s your husband Angel. Listen, I’m sorry for leaving you behind like that, but I had something important to do. Forgive me and please call me back as soon as possible.”
Angel is now worried about Maria fearing that she might be hurt or worse. For now, he can’t worry about that. He needs to escape the hotel alive and find out how to stop Hybrid. He’s unaware that his hometown of New York City was wiped off the map after the last outbreak and his wife is on her way to look for him.
Finding nothing else in the room, he makes his way out until he hears the window being hit. Looking behind him, he sees nobody behind the window. Walking back, he keeps his gun raised in case anything is behind the window. When he gets to the hallway, he turns around to make sure nobody is behind him.
He walks to the next room which is room 401 only to find the door is locked. Going across the hall, he sees that the door for room 402 is open slightly. Armed with his handgun, he carefully opens the door and enters the room. When he enters the room, the smell that he was sniffing before is rather pungent and he covers his nose to avoid breathing it in.
Walking with one hand covering his nose, he turns on the light in the room. When the lights are on, he sees a husky bearded man sleeping on the bed. It looks like the man hasn’t be infected yet. Before he wakes up the man though, he looks around the room for anything useful.
He finds a plant in the room on top of a draw that has healing properties that he grabs in case he sustains any injury.
Picked up a Green Herb. This is a plant that grows around the world. It heals on condition point. For example it will heal from Caution (Level 1) to Fine or Caution (Level 2) to Caution (Level 1).
He opens the draw and finds nothing inside besides a pen that doesn’t write. Looking in the closet, he finds a lone clip inside a shoebox that was probably left behind by a guard.
Picked up a Pistol Clip. +9 Pistol Rounds. Pistol Ammo: 32
Finding nothing else in the room, he tries to wake up the man believing it might be a survivor. The man opens his eyes quickly, but when he does his eyes are bloodshot red. The skin on the man begins to turn rough and pale. A strange yawn is heard from the man as it gives a hostile look at Angel.
Angel doesn’t think too much of it and keeps his eyes peeled. After a minute passes, the man gets up fully without saying a word. Out of nowhere the hostile man grabs Angel and bites him on the shoulder. A little blood comes out of Angel’s shoulder.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
“What was that about? Get down or I’ll shoot. Don’t make me shoot you!” Angel shouts at the hostile man.
The man growls and continues to move aggressively at him.
“No!” Angel screams and shoots the zombie in the head twice.
The husky zombie falls to the ground back first and a little bit of blood comes out of its head. Angel checks on the zombie to make sure its dead. Seeing no movement on the body, he sees that it’s safe to leave.

After getting bit, he notices his health has dropped. Not taking any chances, he uses the herb that he just obtained.
You have used the Green Herb.
Condition: Fine
Angel crushes the green herb and goes to the bathroom to put water on the crushed herb. Rubbing the crushed herb on his shoulder, he begins to feel the pain go away a little. The wound is not as bad as it was before, but it still shows.
Before he goes any further, he takes a quick detour back to room 406 where he’s staying. In the bathroom, he changes into his stealth suit. It covers him mostly with the exception of his head. The suit will also prevent bites from getting too deep into his skin should he be bitten. Plus, he’ll need it anyway when he reaches the headquarters of the Hybrid Corporation.
With his stealth suit on, he heads back to the hallway close to the stairway where he found the dead guard. Looking in room 400, the door is left open as well. Entering the room, he tries to turn on the light but it light blub burns out.
Walking slowly with his gun, he looks carefully to make sure no zombies are around to surprise him. Entering deeper though, he hears a monstrous growl that is all too familiar to him.
“Crap is that what I think it is?” Angel asks himself.
Crawling down on the ground and getting close to the wall, he uses the street light to see into the room. Looking up the ceiling, he spots a flesher.
Fleshers are humans who have been mutated by the Broken Arrow virus. They’re called fleshers because they have lost all of their skin and only their flesh remains. The mutation has made them stronger in a few ways. They’re able to climb walls, have a deadly claw attack, have great agility, and have superb hearing. Sight is the one sense they have lost since the mutation, but they make it up with their hearing.
Looking at the flesher on the ceiling, he can see it drooling waiting for its next victim. He sees something shiny on top of a draw. Realizing his pistol will not kill the creature and will make more noise than anything else, he crawls on the floor to avoid making too much noise.
Unlike his room that has wooden floors, this particular room has a rug which helps in limiting the noise. Angel continues to crawl until he gets to the draw. When he gets to the draw, he stops for a moment to gather himself. He knows that one false move and the flesher will hear him. His heart rate increases greatly and he sees sweat coming down from his head.
Putting his gun down for a moment, he lifts up his right hand slowly trying to flip the key off the table. Stretching his arm as far as he can towards the key without hitting the table, he manages to hit the key. The key flips in the air and Angel hopes that it doesn’t hit anything hard that will make noise. The key falls right next to the draw and onto the rug to his relief.
“Whew… good.” He says low.
Grabbing the key from the rug, he also grabs his gun. He begins to crawl out of the room the same way he came in. Once he crawls to the hallway, he gets up and takes a look at the key he got.
You check the key and there’s a tag that says “Maintenance Room”.
After checking the key, he looks at what is a map of the hotel. For a luxury hotel, it’s small in size as there are only five floors in total. He looks for the maintenance room on the map and sees that it’s located on the floor right below him.
Heading to the stairway, he begins to go down the stairs slowly. The stairway has wooden walls made out of cherry wood and the stairs look like they have just been polished. When Angel gets to the landing for the 3rd floor, he sees the door closed. He prepares to open it, before he can open it though the floor below him cracks.
The floor below him breaks apart and Angel falls into the hole.
The fall is isn’t too much as he lands on the stairway landing for the second floor. While he survives the fall, he can’t help but to worry.
“Whoa, what could have caused that floor to collapse like that?” He asks himself.
Angel is concerned that the floor fell apart because there is something huge that put so much weight on it. The only thing that he can think about is Mr. Z and having to deal with the monster for a third time. Opening the door to the 2nd floor hallway, he sees a horde of seven zombies taking on a three guards.
“Everybody attack! Don’t stop shooting whatever you do!” One of the hotel guards shouts to the others.
Some of the guards are armed with pistols while others are armed with shotguns. At first, four zombies are killed but four more come out from the other rooms. The guards become overwhelmed and are eaten alive in record time by the hungry zombies. The scene is gruesome for Angel to watch despite many times seeing it before.
One of the zombies turns around spotting Angel and begins to move towards him. With his pistol, Angel shoots three rounds into the head of the zombie killing it. The other six zombies get up and move towards him. He empties the rest of the clip and only kills two of the six remaining zombies.
-9 Pistol Rounds. Pistol Ammo: 21
Angel quickly reloads when he sees that he’ll be unable to defeat the four zombies all by his lonesome. Looking at the doors for rooms 200 and 202, he tries to open them but both doors are locked. While trying to open the door for room 202, one of the zombies tries to grab him. He’s able to sidestep away from the zombie and run to the other side of the hall.
Looking at the door to room 203, he opens the door only to see two more zombies pop out of the room. Walking away from the zombies, he trips and falls on his butt. He shoots four rounds in a desperate attempt to defend himself, none of the zombies go down. Angel tries to shoot more rounds, but his gun jams and he’s unable to shoot anymore rounds.
-4 Pistol Rounds. Pistol Ammo: 17
Despite his best efforts to unjam his gun, Angel is unable to get his gun to fire. Angel learns that Croatian guns have a bad tendency of jamming. With no other weapon on him and a bunch of zombies around him, he braces to be eaten alive hoping someone will rescue him.
The zombies begin to kneel down and attack Angel. He gets up and begins to fight them using melee to the best of his ability. He manages to drop kick two zombies, but is overwhelmed by the other four. Backed into the wall, Angel is surrounded by the zombies.
He tries to boldly tackle his way through, but his body weight is too small to break through. As a result, he’s tackled by one of the zombies. The zombie begins to bite him on both arms of a defenseless Angel.
“Get off me you son of a bitch! Help!” Angel shouts hoping a survivor is able to hear him.
Angel fights off the zombie that is biting him for as long as he can until he can’t anymore. The door to the middle stairway leading down to the emergency exit opens and a guard with a sub-machine gun comes into the hallway.
“Hang in there young man, I’ll save you. Eat this zombie freaks!” The guard comes in beginning to shoot his sub-machine gun.
The guard shoots the zombies with his gun and he empties his clip. All four zombies go down onto the floor. The guard reloads his machine gun and looks at Angel. Before he can check on Angel, he sees the two zombies behind him trying to get up. He shoots the zombies dead before they can get up.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Angel opens his eyes realizing that he’s still alive and breathing. He sees his arms are bitten up and he needs to find a cloth to cover the wounds. The guard picks Angel up making sure that he can get up on his own strength.
Angel is able to stand on his own will and looks at the man who saved his life. Looking at the guard, he is wearing a helmet along with riot gear. Looks like he’s put on the extra gear seeing the situation has gone south.
“Thanks you saved my life!” He says to the guard.
“You ok, my friend? This is real bad.” The guard says with limited English and a strong Slavic accent.
“Yes, thanks. I’m hurt though.” Angel says in pain as he favors his right arm.
“Come to me, there’s a doctor’s room here.” The guard says leading to a room in front of them.
Entering the room, Angel sees that it’s a medical room. He goes to the bed and sits down as the guard opens the cabinets to see what is around. The guard sees a tube of crushed green herbs and a tube of crushed red herbs.
The hotel guard mixes the herbs together on a plate until it turns into a brown mixture. Getting water from the sink, he wets the mixture. Once the mixture is moist, the guard begins to apply it to Angel’s wounds.
Angel screams in pain at first, but takes the sting once the guard rubs the mixture on his right arm.
Condition: Fine
“The sting will go bye-bye, this herb is good stuff. You’ll be up soon.” The guard says.
“I’ll be ok. Who are you anyway? My name is Angel.” Angel introduces himself.
“My name is Boris and I been here for 10 years. This is like horror movies I watch.” Boris answers.
“This isn’t a movie I’m afraid, it’s all too real.” Angel responds.
“I know. Listen, we need to be a team and get out of crazy place. Sorry, my English is bad. Wanna be teammate?” The guard asks exposing his limited English ability.
“I understand what you’re saying. Let’s be teammates, I can always use another survivor to help me.” Angel answers happily.
Before the two can get to know each other better a loud boom is heard along with falling debris.
“What was that?” Angel asks in shock.
“I don’t know mate. You stay here and I go see.” The guard tells Angel to stay.
The hotel guard gets out of the room to investigate. Angel is concerned as the possibility of seeing Mr. Z is almost inevitable. Looking around the room, he sees a first aid spray that he picks up.
Picked up a First Aid Spray. This will restore your health fully.
Opening a few cabinets around the room, he also finds a clip of ammo.
