Ultimate Nightmare Set, page 49
part #1 of Angel's Nightmare Adventure Series
Elza - Elza is the second of three playable characters in the story. A White Plains native, she has grown to love White Plains and wishes to never move. Despite being a young college student, she is rather tough carrying a survival knife for self-defense and it will prove to be useful for her when it comes to defending against the undead. She might be a tough motorcycle chick, but she does have her soft side. She used to be a thief when she was growing up. However, that less than ethical skill will prove useful to her to open certain doors and desks. She has better accuracy than Hondo, but it comes at the expense of having lower endurance. She is not as informed about the previous outbreak, so she will be learning as she goes. She’s around 20. Special Ability - She can unlock desks and doors with a lockpick.
Dawn - Dawn is the final of the three playable characters in the story. She is originally from the UK, but moved to the White Plains area when she finished college. Her specialty is cyber-hacking and computer science. She is tougher than Elza, but she tends to be more emotional than Elza. Dawn is a lover of nature and easily cries when she sees harm being done to the environment especially to the wildlife. She also loves motorcycles as well and carries a big bad Desert Eagle after being raped back in the UK. She’s is not as accurate as Elza, but does better than Hondo. She’s around 35 and has been investigating Hybrid for a long time since they started. It’s unknown if Dawn has a crush on Hondo, but it seems she has taken a liberty towards looking out for him. Special Ability - She can find a hookshot and reach places that Hondo is unable to reach. Also she will need the hookshot to reach places that are otherwise unreachable to progress through the story.
NPCs - Non-Playable Characters
George Fisher - He is the defacto leader of the private investigator group that Hondo and Dawn are in. George is a tabloid journalist that knows there is more to Hybrid than just their website and articles about them. In fact, he suspects there is a dark side to the pharmaceutical company. In his 50’s, George can’t move as good as before. He will be a valuable asset towards the later part of the story.
Anne Skander - She is the daughter of the manager of the White Plains bus depot Mr. Skander. Anne was seeing her mother in the police station when the outbreak started, her mother died. However, she tries to survive while finding her father. She is found by Elza and Elza promises Anne that she will protect her. She is 13 and rather smart for her age. Elza will have a challenge trying to keep Hybrid a secret from her.
Martin Skander - He is the manager for the White Plains bus depot. He is a well respected person in White Plains depending who you ask, but is he carrying a secret that could play a part in the adventure.
Roy - He is a rookie cop for the White Plains police department and is a good friend to Elza. Roy is Elza’s love interest and she wants to ask him out, but has cold feet. The outbreak gets in the way of her intentions. Despite that, he shows that he cares for her as he saves her from a couple of tough situations. Will he survive though or has Elza waited too long to ask her love interest out?
Chief Mustang - John Mustang is the chief of the White Plains police station. He’s been chief for five years, but the sudden change in tone has people alarmed. John wants to sell the mayor to sell the police station and move it to a more desirable area. He claims crime has gone up where the station is located and his crew is in danger. However, Hondo and others don’t buy it and claim that he has a hand in a secret dealing with the Hybrid Corporation. As Hondo and Elza get deeper into the police station, they find the chief isn’t all that he claims to be.
Other Characters
Angel - He is one of the survivors from the first outbreak back in 2007. He used to be one of Hondo’s pupils in his boxing classes and was a favorite of Hondo. In fact, Hondo is concerned that Angel did not survive the first outbreak and want to return to NYC to see if he’s still alive.
Unnamed Waterworks Worker - He provides George Fisher on what Hybrid has been up to in the waterworks. The pictures are quite revealing and leads to the real mole of the second outbreak in NY.
Creatures
Zombie - Comes in a variety of flavors and occupations. Not much to say about them, but don’t let them eat you!
Crimson Face - A zombie only much faster and has longer nails capable of cutting a person up pretty badly. Also contains pretty bad breath as well.
Guerilla - A mutated gorilla that is capable of powerful punches and can drop kick as well. This mutated gorilla also has bigger teeth capable of digging into a human’s skin. Did we mention, this gorilla can wall jump as well?
Flesher - A mutated human that has its skin removed and left with its flesh. Despite losing the ability to see and have to walk on 4 legs, they can hear much better than a normal human. It has deadly claws that have replaced its hands, they can crawl on walls and ceilings, and they have a deadly tongue that can cut through a human like butter.
Striker - A mutated raccoon that is 2-3 times bigger than a normal raccoon. Let’s say that a bite from this particular raccoon will deliver more than just rabies.
Web Spinner - The classic huge spider is back for another book indeed. Fans already know what these guys do. They can tackle a human in one ram or they can poison a human with its acid spit.
Frogger – This is another old favorite. This huge mutated frog can eat a human whole, that’s all we’ll say…
Poison Frogger - Only seen in the dam, these froggers have been exposed to extreme levels of poison that they have turned purple. They are like regular froggers, but they can spit poison as well and it’s quite venomous.
Lizarda - A classic creature indeed and one of the toughest to defeat. Seen beginning in the sewers, they mutated lizards have quite the mean claw attack. Their agility makes them tough to hit as well, especially for a high powered weapon.
Bosses
Polybius X - Met in the bus depot by Dawn and Hondo. This is the “Revenge” of polybius from the zero adventure. Only this model has been buffed up and has greater endurance. It’s right claw is even bigger and deadlier. However, it’s heart remains its weak spot.
King Guerilla – This bioweapon is met by Elza in the bus depot. This is the biggest of the guerilla species. It looks like the normal Guerillas except that it’s black instead of gray. The King Guerilla is a freak of nature that has been exposed to way too much of the Raven Hawk virus. It’s extremely tough to take out, so hard that it need to be shot in the knees for it to go down. Elza has to stab it in the heart many times. It can pick up cars like nothing and it simply walking is enough to get the ground shaking.
Giant Alligator – An alligator that has received a large amount of the virus causing it to grow into a giant. It normally attacks with its tail and knocks down its victim. When the victim is down, it goes for the kill. Rumors have been said that this creature can eat a human with no effort. In all fairness though, it’s sheer size is enough evidence.
Giant Moth - Met by Hondo in the laboratory. This mothis more than just annoying, it’s exposure to the Raven Hawk has made it poisonous. It can create a toxic gas that is rather rancid to humans and it’s wings are rather sharp as well. Plus it’s probably the ugliest moth Hondo will have the displeasure of meeting.
Eon and Peon - A creature made from two humans put together. Eon is the bigger mutated human and has huge claw on its hands. It controls the motor portion of the creature such as moving and jumping. Peon is the smaller human on top of Eon. It’s the brains of the creature and it spits an acid so bad that it has the PH level of battery acid. Did we mention that Eon and Peon’s blood is really battery acid.
Alligator King (Mutated John Mustang) - This is the end result of Chief Mustang injecting himself with a vial of the new “Broken Arrow” virus after being exposed to the Raven Hawk. He turns into a huge mutated alligator humanoid. It has tentacles on its left hand and on the right hand, it has a huge claw. It can spit an acid that is exactly battery acid or even worse. The acid is so bad that it makes Eon and Peon look like child’s play and it burns through a human’s skin in record time.
Appendix B
Weapons/Items/Concepts
Weapons
Pistol - Hondo and Elza start with a pistol. Your basic weapon for taking out zombies, but not much of anything else later on in the story.
Shotgun (Hondo only) - A Remington Tactical shotgun. Good at close range, not as good from far. It’s good for headshots to zombies.
Heavy Machine Gun (Hondo Only) - This machine gun is a kickass weapon capable of cleaning house of most regular enemies. However, ammo runs out quickly and it’s rather rare to find. So this is best left for bosses.
Magnum (Hondo and Dawn) - Dawn’s powerful .50AE Desert Eagle is a ultra powerful magnum capable of making quick work of even the toughest of enemies. Ammo isn’t as rare as the machine gun, but still not common.
Bowgun (Elza Only) - A crossbow that shoots three arrows at a time. It’s quite effective against B.O.W.’s (Bio-Organic weapons) and zombies. It’s usefulness dwindles versus bosses.
Grenade Launcher (Elza Only) - Shoots three different kinds of grenades. Flame, Acid, and Standard. Flame rounds burn creatures, but proves to be not so good against the undead. Acid rounds are super effective against bosses but hard to come by. Standard is the most common, but is a bit weaker than the other two round types. However, it’s rather effective versus the undead.

Angel’s Nightmare Two: The Nightmare Continues
Prologue
Angel and Luis managed to survive the first nightmare when the zombies took over NYC. Angel and Maria built a friendship over the course of the survival horror experience.
Luis and Joe managed to find the culprit or at least figure out there was a turncoat with in their ranks.
Barry who was supposedly a high-ranking official showed his true colors as a former employee of the Hybrid Corporation. He turned out to be a double agent working for the Hybrid Nation or at least he was before he got the idea to two-time the Clark family. However, the creations of the virus had other plans for Barry, a huge experimental snake that was in the Clark family mansion decided to make a quick meal out of Barry.
Angel and Maria just did the best they could to survive in the hospital of hell. They had to rely on each other to survive the night. That is until Mr. Z came along and gave chase to both of them around the entire building.
Eventually after the long bloody night nearly passed by, Angel and Maria met up with Luis. The three of them worked together to get out of the hospital, until they met Mr. Z for one last battle. This time around the creature turned into Mr. Y and threatened the three. Despite the might of Mr. Y, the might of the three proved to be more powerful as they were able to take down Mr. Y.
After that the three escaped into a helicopter along with Luis’s partner, Joe. The four of them escape NYC safe and sound, until the reality set in that it was all a dream.
Angel had a successful oral surgery while Luis continued to climb the ranks of the NYPD. The only mention of the Hybrid Corporation was the fact that it was experimenting with a new substance. Could it be that the virus is doomed to infect all of NYC in real life?
Luis was packing up for a family curse around the Caribbean and he would get a much needed break from the action in NYC. So a middle-aged man named Bill would take over his duties until he got back.
This was a question that bothered Luis and Angel for some time, however as time passed and nothing happened they began to forget about everything. Eventually they got over the dream. Besides what were the chances of this happening in real life?
However this was 5 years ago…
Will the nightmare return?
Angel’s Nightmare Two - Angel’s Story
Chapter 1
Five years later from the events of the first nightmare… The alarm clock beeps indicating that it’s time for Angel to wake up from his sleep. Today he begins his first day as a NYPD officer. Maria who is now his girlfriend gets up as well. She begins her sophomore year of college, as she is trying to earn her BS in journalism.
Despite the events of the first adventure being nothing more than a bad nightmare, Angel did manage to meet Maria in High School in real life. The two got along rather well, in fact so well it was love at first sight for the two of them.
Fast forward to now, Angel is now 22 years old and Maria is 20 years old. He is used to being on his own ever since his father and mother died 3 years ago during a freak car accident. He currently resides in a 1 bedroom apartment in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. He decided to take in Maria after she ran away from her abusive family back in East New York, Brooklyn. Also the fact he loved her mightily, assisted in his decision to take her in.
Before getting a job with the NYPD, Angel was a junior electrician. However he decided to get a job with the police department, as he always dreamed of being in law enforcement. Not to mention that his girlfriend would love him in a police uniform. He’s excited to start his first day and she’s equally as excited to start her first day of college. Although she knows she’s already taken by Angel, the horny college boys will just have to accept it.
It’s a beautiful September day, temperatures are in the upper 60’s to start the day, and there is no rain forecasted for the next ten days. The two eat breakfast, get dressed, and prepare to leave for the day. Before they go off to their destinations, they share a kiss for the day knowing they wouldn’t see each other for most of the day. Angel hops on his Nissan Maxima and Maria hops in as well. He drops her off at Brooklyn College which isn’t too far from where they live.
After dropping off his girlfriend, the two share one more kiss, and go on their separate ways.
“Bye baby!” Maria says happily.
“Bye, have a good day. If anything happens you know who to call.” Angel winks his eye to Maria. She winks back and shakes her head laughing at him.
The last thing he wants to think about is his “nightmare” although that is how he was able to recognize Maria when he got to meet her in High School. He still hasn’t told her about the dream. He figures that it’s best not to scare her off by telling her about a dream that occurred five years ago, despite the dream feeling so real. However that’s yesterday’s news and he’s going to move on with his life.
He drives off and listens to the radio during the ride. He hears some tunes such as Hip-Hop and R&B until the announcers begin to talk. While most of what they say is at best trivial, there is one thing that catches his attention. One of the announcers, DJ Freestyle reads from an article that the Hybrid Corporation is developing a new substance. The substance is code named “Broken Arrow”, which is simply a code name for a substance that supposedly defeats cancer. It’s the second attempt at creating a substance since the unnamed substance failed over 5 years ago.
Angel thinks for a quick second and when he hears “5 years ago” he immediately goes back to his dream that he had. Harrison has mentioned that Hybrid was behind the zombie infestation. Despite that Harrison is still alive and the experiment simply failed without any incident, he decides instantly to put the dream where it belong, which is to the back of his mind.
“Man it’s just a dream, Angel. Gotta put that to the side and move on, it’s probably gonna be another failed experiment and nothing more. Well I’m almost to the 75th percent. It’s time to kick some tango butt.” He says to himself.
He drives up to the 75th percent in East New York where he used to reside when he was younger. He enters the facility and approaches the receptionist.
“Hello, I’m Angel Medina and this is my first day here as a NYPD officer. Do you mind telling me where I need to go?” He asks the receptionist.
“Ok just head to your left and the first door to your right is the conference room where all the rookies are located. Welcome to the force and good luck, you’ll need it…” She replies.
“Ok thank you miss.” He thanks her and begins to speak to himself, “Hmm… what she meant by ‘you’ll need it’? Perhaps she thinks I’m not from the area, once she sees my knowledge she’ll change her train of though. Hmm… conference room, looks like I’m here.”
He enters the room and sees about a room of about 10 recruits, which is rather low for a regular class. However he’s starting during a lean period of the year where many people are still recovering from their summer vacations.
