“What happened to Barry?” She asks.
“Ah… As much as I hate to say it that snake was able to escape into the grass. However, we can’t worry about him now. He’s probably on the run as we know what he’s up to.” He answers soberly.
The two get up and try to get out, but Harry forgets that the door is electronically locked. He searches the room all over for something to unlock the door. He finds something else along the way.
Picked up a Green Herb.
Condition: Fine
After healing himself to full health, Rebecca calls him to show him a switch. When he gets to the switch, he presses it and hears the electronic security released from the lab door.
“Looks like we found a way out of here.” Rebecca says.
“Yup, let’s get out of here!” He replies happily.
The two get out of the laboratory and head to the hallway. They begin to talk.
“Excuse me Harry.” She says.
“What is it Rebecca?” He asks.
“I saw a research file in this lab. It said that a mass amount of research was being done on the Polybius project exists right here. We should blow this place up!” She recommends blowing the place up. Harry thinks about it.
“Well, we’re already in it too deep as it is. Do you think you can do it?” He asks her.
“Yes sir, I’ll setup a triggering system for a bomb. That should activate the self-destruct sequence and all emergency doors should unlock giving us a chance to escape.
“Okay! Now we have a chance to escape, see you outside!” He says as Rebecca runs towards the power room.
As he heads to the B3 hallway, he sees a flea drainer trying to attack him. He is able to kill the pest easily with the enhanced shotgun shells.
Enhanced Shotgun Shells: 13
After killing the pest, he heads up the stairs to level B2 where he sees some zombies. Using his shotgun, he’s able to clear the small horde of zombies and continue down until he gets to the locker room. When he gets to the locker room, he hears the alarm go off and an announcement can be heard.
“Attention! All researchers please evacuate the laboratory immediately. The triggering system has been set, this laboratory will self-destruct! This sequence cannot be aborted; repeat this sequence cannot be aborted!” The automated message says.
“Rebecca did it!” He says happily.
As begins to go up the ladder, the door behind him opens. He sees Rebecca come in.
“Hey Harry I did it!” She says.
“I can see that, good job. How about we get out of here?” He says.
“Yes sir!” She replies happily.
Before they go up though, Thomas and Sabrina come into the locker room.
“Sabrina and Thomas, you’re ok!” Harry says happily.
“I’m glad you’re fine as well!” Sabrina replies.
“Alright! Now that we’re all together, let’s see if we can get Brad and get the hell out of here.” Thomas says.
The four of them head up to the emergency exit and head out towards the helipad that is up ahead. At the end of the hall there is an elevator that leads to the exit. As they approach the elevator, a loud monstrous noise can be heard.
“What the hell is that?” Harry asks.
Before he heads up the elevator, he sees a couple of pick ups.
Picked up +12 Magnum Rounds. Magnum Ammo: 19
Picked up a First Aid Spray.
As he waits for the elevator, the monstrous noise can be heard again.
“Don’t tell me ‘Polybius’ is still alive!” Harry screams.
“Listen you go on ahead. Me and the women will hold whatever it is back. Try to get Brad, we’re counting on you Harry!” Thomas says as he decides to stay behind to hold whatever is coming back.
Harry heads into the elevator a bit nervous as there’s a chance Polybius is still alive and well. There might indeed be one last battle before the crew gets to escape.
What will happen when Harry reaches the roof?
The Final Escape
It’s Not Over Yet
When Harry reaches the roof, he sees that he’s on a helipad. However, with the lack of a working radio, he’s unable to call Brad. However, he does find a box with a flare inside. Heading towards the middle of the helipad, he puts the box in the middle and opens the box to shoot the flare up to the sky. When he lays the flare down, he hears an announcement.
“Three minutes before lab self-destruction, please evacuate immediately!”
“Oh crap, I hope Brad sees the flare or we’re all cooked here.” He says as he launches the flare.
After launching the flare, he waves as he sees the helicopter in the sky.
“Hey Brad! I’m down here!” He calls Brad.
Brad begins to fly towards his direction and he gets close to Harry’s location on the helipad. However, Harry hears a crackling noise coming from the bottom. After a few seconds, a monster pops from below. Harry takes a look and sees that it’s Polybius who has come back from the dead.
Final Boss: Polybius Reborn
Polybius has come back from the dead and has its sights set on Harry as it attacks him.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Great!
He’s able to dodge the constant attacks by Polybius with its claws until it stops. The few seconds of relaxation by Polybius is enough for Harry to get set some distance from the creature. When the creature turns around, Harry begins to shoot at it.
He knows he can’t waste too much time as he knows that the lab will explode in a few minutes. Also, it’s not safe for Brad to land with a dangerous creature on the helipad. He begins to shoot at Polybius trying to hit its heart, but the nervousness in him makes him miss the heart. Instead he ends up hitting it away from the heart.
Magnum Rounds: 16
Polybius grabs him and throws him towards the wall. The throw is not powerful enough for Harry to hit the wall. Getting up, he tries to shoot Polybius. However, the creature continues to run towards him giving little time to aim his magnum. Polybius attempt to slash him.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Not Good Enough!
Polybius lands a sharp him on Harry causing him to begin bleeding rapidly. The only saving face is that he is able to avoid taking maximum damage by dodging the full attack.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
As he continues to run from Polybius, he can see a trail of blood created from him bleeding on his arms. He is not concerned about that as he simply wants to survive.
“Two minutes until self-destruction sequence is complete!”
Harry almost forgets that he has another enemy which is that he only has 2 minutes to kill Polybius and escape the lab with all the others. He continues to shoot the creature and lands a couple of hits in the heart of the creature. The creature screams in pain for a quick second and Harry tries to continue to shoot, but is forced to reload when he runs out of shots.
That gives time for Polybius to recover and the creature begins to approach Harry. As Harry is trying to reload, Polybius runs towards him ready to pounce. Harry is able to finish reloading, but is hit by the creature with its left hand and is knocked down to the floor.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Taking a big shot causes him to lose a good amount of health. As Polybius heads towards him, he fires shots in desperation to the heart of the creature. The creature tries to attack him and slash him to death, but he lands a few more shots in the heart. Polybius tries to slash Harry, but the pain it feels in its heart is enough to botch the attack missing Harry.
He gets up as fast as he can to gain more distance, but notices that the pain on his legs is catching up and he’s unable to move as fast as before. With Polybius still on its knees, he heals himself.
Harry uses a First Aid Spray.
Condition: Fine
After healing himself, he still has difficulty moving around as his knees are injured. He tries to run, but his mobility is limited and Polybius is able to recover ready to attack. The creature walks towards him and tries to attack again with its fist.
Harry who is too injured to move gets hit squared by Polybius and falls to the ground taking a severe amount of damage.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
“One and a half minutes remain until self-destruction sequence is complete.”
With Harry still on the floor, Polybius picks him up and prepares to insert its claw through Harry. He tries to fight out of the hold, but is too weak to do so.
“It’s all over, I can’t believe this is how my life is gonna end. Why Hybrid, why…” He says his last words hopefully as he braces for impact.
The elevator comes up and Sabrina comes out of the elevator with her pistol.
“You’re not going yet Harry!” She says as she shoots Polybius grabbing its attention.
Sabrina’s Playthrough.
The creature throws Sabrina towards the wall and begins to focus on Sabrina. She shoots Polybius with her last 4 acid rounds. The acid rounds slow down the creature, but that all they do. Polybius back smacks her down to the ground. It then picks her up, throws her up, and punches her down to the ground dealing a good amount of damage.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
The creature attempts to finish her off by thrusting it’s claw into her heart.
Press “A” and “B” to roll… Well Done!
She is able to roll out of the way of the attack and get up. However, she realizes that she is running out of time, so she has to get aggressive in her attack. She runs from Polybius and loads the Flame Rounds in the launcher. She wait’s for Polybius to turn around and she starts to shoot at the creature as fast as she can.
“One minute until lab self-destruction! Everyone please report to the helipad now!”
“Crap this isn’t working, I need something more powerful to kill this freak!” She says.
“Hey Sabrina!” Brad yells over the megaphone.
“Brad is that you?” She yells with Polybius coming in her direction.
“Yes! Use this to blast that creature, hurry you don’t have much time and I’m running out of fuel!” Brad throws down a Rocket Launcher.
Sabrina tries to pick up the rocket launcher from the ground, but Polybius smacks her away from the weapon.
“50 seconds left!” The automated message says.
“Hey Sabrina, grab the Rocket Launcher! Me and Rebecca will distract the creature, hurry!” Thomas says as him and Rebecca step off the elevator.
Thomas and Rebecca shoot at Polybius trying to get its attention and they are successful at it. With the creature distracted and Harry still down, Sabrina realizes that it’s up to her to save the day and kill Polybius.
“40 seconds left”
She limps her way to the Rocket Launcher until she gets to it.
Picked up a Rocket Launcher. Use this to blast Polybius to pieces!
After picking up the big launcher, she aims at Polybius and calls it out.
“Hey test tube freak!” She calls Polybius to grab its attention.
The creature turns around to face her.
“Eat this loser!” Sabrina shoots a rocket.
The rocket travels and hits Polybius dead on. After the rocket hits Polybius, it blows up into pieces and all the blood from it spills onto the helipad. Once Polybius is out of the picture, Brad begins to land the chopper on the helipad.
“Harry, get up!” Sabrina yells at Harry begging him to get up.
He gets up on his own two feet, but needs Thomas and Sabrina to carry him to the chopper. They hurry to the chopper.
“15 seconds left!”
“Come on Brad get us out of here and fast!” Sabrina yells as Brad who begins to fly out of the laboratory.
“10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1…”
Once the clock hits zero, the laboratory blows up in a blaze of glory. Brad is able to fly out of the area in time and the explosion can be seen behind the chopper as they are able to escape in one piece. While no one knows where Barry could have gone, they could care less if he didn’t make it out.
As they head a few miles out of the way, the four survivors begins to talk amongst themselves.
“I’m glad we’re out of there.” Rebecca says.
“You did very well back there kid. You should be proud of yourself indeed.” Harry replies.
“I just hope the guys and the chief believe our story and I hope he believes us that Barry is a traitor.” Sabrina says.
“They gotta believe us. The way I see it is that we have to stop Hybrid from continuing their experiments and they might be trying to take over the world with their bio-weapons.” Thomas gives the team an idea of their next mission.
Then as the ride is going smoothly, the chopper begins to run out of fuel.
“Hey Brad what gives?” Harry asks.
“Oh man we’re running out of fuel here guys. We’re going to have to make an emergency landing here to get more fuel.” Brad responds.
Brad makes a landing in an open, easy to find part of the forest so that fuel tanks can arrive faster. As the crew waits for a fuel truck from the local police department to arrive, something is hiding in the bushes.
What could it be?
Epilogue
As the crew waits for the truck to arrive another creature pops out of the bushes. It’s a superhuman in a red trench coat that none of the members saw back in the mansion or laboratory. It attacks all of them.
“Oh my God! What is that thing? Don’t come this way, no!” Thomas screams before being punched to death by the superhuman.
The unknown creature takes Thomas’s camera and crushes it to pieces.
“Thomas!” Sabrina screams.
“Forget about him, we have to kill this guy! Brad where are you?” Harry asks.
It turns out that Brad has decided to coward out from the scene leaving his team to die.
“No way, Brad ran away!” Rebecca screams as her along with the others try to shoot the unknown creature.
However, despite their combined efforts they are unable to even weaken the creature a little bit. The creature grabs Rebecca and chokes her as the others run of bullets for their weapons. The two of them especially Harry, are in total shock as Rebecca becomes the second causality of the unknown creature.
“No Rebecca! You bastard!” Harry screams seeing Rebecca dying in front of his face.
“Harry, we gotta run! We don’t have anything that can stop this huge monster!” Sabrina tells Harry to run.
The two of them decide to run from the area and forget the chopper. They run through the forest as they try to lose the superhuman creature. As tired as they are they cannot stop running. Fighting fatigue, they eventually reach the end of the forest and find a small town where they eventually hide and lose the creature.
“Oh man that was close. It looks like Hybrid was prepared to intercept us in case we succeeded.” Harry says as he and Sabrina reach a safe haven by a hotel.
“I don’t think we should go back to New York.” Sabrina replies.
“What do you mean?” He asks.
“Barry has much power and money. He’s a big person in Hybrid. He might just bribe the chief and get him to go against us. Plus we no longer have the pictures Thomas took as that monster crushed the camera ensuring those pictures would be forever lost.” She answers
“I didn’t think of that. You’re right Sabrina, our lives are in danger. Not to mention because we escaped from a Hybrid facility, we have become public enemy #1 to them.” Harry and Sabrina realize that they cannot return home as their lives are in danger at the hands of Hybrid.
They realize they are better off disappearing from the face of the earth rather than trying to sell a story that will probably be impossible to sell to their own police force.
The next day the two decide to go to a clothing store and get new clothes. They make a pact to disown the uniform of the NYPD Special Forces and try to hide any association from them in order to protect their hides. Harry and Sabrina even go as far as changing their names and physical looks to blend in with the population of the local town.
The two of them end up accepting their lives, separate from their families, and separate from everything back home. They come to accept their new identities as the missing members from the Mansion Incident. Later on in NY history, the mansion incident would be the infamous event that would lead to the eventual outbreaks in NYC.
For many years to come, the mansion incident, and the hospital incident two months later would be the only two sources of evidence authorities would have to crack the case of zombie outbreaks. Hybrid would end up being very careful and found themselves dodging the bullet in the following years avoiding suspicion.
What Harry and Sabrina didn’t know was that Hybrid knew they would go to the mansion. That’s because it was Hybrid who gave them the unknown invitation as they wanted to use them as guinea pigs to gather battle data for their bio-weapons.
They main task was to use Barry to summon Polybius to see what it was capable of against the best the NYPD had to offer.
While the survivors got out of the lab, it was all a trap as Hybrid was prepared with another unknown creature. It has a code name only known as by the future survivors, Mr. Z.

Angel, a young 17 year old kid who just got the 4th installment of his favorite zombie video game series was simply playing his video game. Little does he know, those bad dreams he would have after playing the video games would become his new reality.
This 17 year old kid would end up being one of five survivors from the first outbreak in NYC and would be the unsung vigilante who will have to expose Hybrid for their actions.
This is how the nightmare all started!

Main Playable Characters:
Harry – He is one of the major playable MC’s in the book. He boasts great accuracy as he was the top marksman in his graduating class. Harry is a person who is very optimistic and tends to be an easy guy to get along with. However, he can sometimes be a little too trustworthy with people who might not deserve to be trusted. While he can take more damage than Sabrina, he pays for it as he has trouble solving puzzles and his coordination isn’t as high as it should be. Overall, he is a tank that is useful in tougher situations. He is in his mid 20’s and sports a crew cut. His family are descendents from Germany.
