Ultimate Nightmare Set, page 6
part #1 of Angel's Nightmare Adventure Series
After tying her arm with the cloth he asks, “Does that feel better?”
“Yeah, that’s as good as it’s gonna get. Thanks Thomas.” She thanks him.
“Yeah… Yeah. Try to be a little more careful, alright? Who knows what other demons are in this place.” He replies and leaves.
Condition: Fine
After getting up from the bed she explores the room and finds a pickup on a counter.
Flame Rounds: 6. These are powerful rounds against plant based creatures and certain creatures, highly Flammable.
She also finds a reloading station as well that she decides to use.
Sabrina loads the Gunpowder B into the reloading station. +7 Shotgun Shells are created. Shotgun Ammo: 16
She loads the Gunpowder C into the reloading station. +6 Standard Grenades are created. Standard Grenades: 17
She exits the room and heads into room 101 in the guardhouse. Entering the room, she enters a bedroom with a couple of zombies inside the room eating up a dead guard of the mansion. Not taking any chances, she grabs her grenade launcher and blasts the zombies easily.
She enters deeper into the bedroom, but the door to the bathroom opens and a crimson faced zombie begins to run out like crazy into the bedroom. When she turns around, she dives back towards the bed and blasts the zombie. The zombie’s arms and legs blow off the body and the blood from the zombie spills all over the room. Some of the blood spills onto Sabrina, but she can care less.
When she looks in the room, she sees a suicide note that is too bloody to even read or understand. She finds a small empty .25 caliber pistol that was used by the guard to take his life. There is a locked desk next to her as well that she picks and opens.
Picked up a Dormitory Key. It’s a key with a red tag that opens a room in the guardhouse.
Sabrina CHECKS the Key and turns it around. The tag reads Gallery. It’s a key to the Gallery.
With the bathroom door busted, she enters the bathroom where she sees an ammo pickup.
Picked up +6 Flame Rounds. Flame Rounds: 12
Finding nothing more in the bathroom, she exits the room and heads back to the hallway. When she heads to the red double doors in the hallway, she sees that there is a board blocking it. She doesn’t have the strength to pull the door or have anything to take the wood out. Seeing another door to her right, she heads towards it until she is grabbed by a tentacle from the floor.
The tentacle begins to choke her until she pulls out her survival knife and stabs it until it lets go of her. There is a hole that she did not see before of about foot wide. She decides to step away from the hole not wanting to risk getting caught again by the tentacle.
“Hmm… that box I saw. It might be big enough to cover that hole.” Sabrina says to herself.
She heads back to the hallway and finds the box by where she had picked up the herbs. She begins to push the box and despite the fact it’s a bit heavy with gardening equipment, she’s able to move it. After moving through the hallway, she covers the hole entirely with the box. Once the hole is covered, she able to move to the door without incident.
Opening the door, she enters a hallway filled with pictures of the mansion and guardhouse. Also there is a dusty desk that is locked. She decides to use her lockpick to pick the desk.
Lockpicking skill improved to Level 8!
There is nothing in the desk except for a document…
The Aqua Ring
“The Aqua Ring was designed to raise our newest experiment, Neptune. We want to see what would happen if we fed sharks, the Raven Hawk substance. What mutations would we see and what enhancements would we see. Would the shark be more aggressive and would they be able to scare off our enemies.
The mission is to see how we can bring a new generation of super creatures and if we can take over the genetic engineering industry. The Aqua Ring is to be filled with water during experimentation in order to keep the sharks alive. The only reason why the water should be drained is to access the armory room.
When entering the ring, please take care that you don’t get too close to the sharks. They are very aggressive towards the sight of blood. To drain the water, enter the control room and pull the level down. When you are done, please raise the water again. We would hate to lose our dear experiments.”
“This place just gets weirder and weirder the more I explore.” She comments after reading the document.
As she walks down the hallway with the tacky looking wallpaper that is falling apart, she finds the door to the gallery.
This key is useless now. Will you discard? You have chosen yes.
Discarding the key, she enters the room and bumps into a mini art gallery filled with some weird looking inventions from the 1800’s that never quite made it. As she gets deeper, she sees a door that is locked with a keypad that has weird looking symbols, colors, and numbers. With no knowledge of what the code could be, she ignores the door and moves on.
She sees room 103 ahead and tries to enter, but the door is locked requiring a key. The lock is unable to be picked as double deadbolt is on the door as well. Another door is located to the right of Room 103, but it’s locked as well.
The door is locked from the other side.
All of a sudden bees begin to pop out of the other end of the hallway. She runs in to see where they’re coming from, once she reaches the end of the hall she finds a small hive inside. She spots a dead guard on the floor holding something on his right hand.
Picked up some Pesticide. That should take care of those bees.
She tries to use the pesticide spray, but the bees becoming too aggressive and begin to threaten her. Sabrina doesn’t hesitate and runs out of the Gallery to avoid being stung. After getting out of the hall, she continues down the hall and sees the door to room 102. However, she also sees a hole on the wall to the left of the door where she can see the bee hive.
Sabrina uses the pesticide to destroy the hive and kill the bees in the room. She spots a key as well, but she is unable to reach it from her location. Heading back to the gallery, she heads to where the hive was located and grabs the key.
Picked up a Control Room Key. Control Room? Where could that be?
After grabbing the key, she wonders if the Aqua Ring is a hidden underground facility. Sabrina goes to explore Room 102 until she hears voices from inside the room.
“It can’t be true! I’ve been told a different story.” A voice screams sounding like Thomas. Another voices answers, but speaks too low to be heard.
“But it’s not necessary to destroy the Special Forces!” The voice answers back. Another pause is heard.
“What about my family?” The voice shouts. Another pause is heard.
“So everything depends on me, huh?” The voice asks again until the conversation ends.
Sabrina enters the room and spots Thomas by himself.
“Sabrina!” He says surprised.
“Thomas, I heard someone talking.”
“Oh… So you heard.” He paces around and continues. “I think I’m getting old, seems like talking to myself has become a bad habit.” He answers.
“Talking to yourself? Thomas, something must have happened. Am I wrong?” She asks.
“Well, it seems I made you worry, but don’t. Maybe I’ve been a nervous wreck. I think I’ll go out and get some fresh air for a change.” He walks toward the door while Sabrina looks at him concerned.
When he gets to the door he says, “I told you don’t worry. I’ll just go and get some fresh air and be eaten by one of those monsters.” He leaves before Sabrina can continue to ask him questions.
“Something is definitely going on. Thomas is acting weird, too weird. Could it be that he’s got something to do with Hybrid? I sure hope not.” Sabrina says as she looks into the worse possible scenario and hoping that it’s not what she thinks it is.
She sees a door leading to the bathroom and enters. There is a dead zombie on the floor that doesn’t move at all. She spots something on the floor.
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 23
Seeing nothing else in the bathroom, she leaves and checks a desk by a bed that is locked. Using her lockpick, she opens the desk.
Picked up a First Aid Box. Sabrina opens the box and finds a Green Herb inside.
She mixes the Green, Red, and Blue herbs to create an Ultra Herb that can heal up to full health and heal poison condition.
In the bedroom, she sees a hole on the floor behind one of the bookcases. There is a mark on the floor where the bookcase used to be, meaning there is a secret passage. Also, that confirms that Thomas was talking to someone, but whom?
She pushes the bookcase to the side and sees there is a ladder leading to a lower level. Does it lead to the Aqua Ring? Only one way to find out…
Chapter 8
She makes her way down the elevator carefully and when she gets down, she finds herself in a plain gray hallway. The hallway has the look of a factory or underground area of a building back in Brooklyn. There are a few wooden boxes in the hallway. Ignoring them, she continues through the dimly lit hall. She sees a pool of water that is too deep to go into. Plus she’s not a good swimmer and would probably drown.
The gap between where she is and the other side is about 9 feet. She takes a look at box next to her and decides to move it to see how heavy it is. To her surprise the box is not too heavy at all.
Moving the box into the pool of water, the box falls in the water and floats.
“Hmm… I might be able to create a ‘bridge’ to get to the other side.” She says in her head.
After that though, she pushes the other two boxes one by one into the water. The three boxes float perfectly and she crosses to the other side. She opens the double doors and enters what appears to be the “Aqua Ring”.
The Aqua Ring is filled with water up to the top. It’s a huge circular room with a couple of doors on the other side, which one of them is the control room. Looking underwater though, she can see that there is more to the facility than what is seen.
The water reaches to the metal pathway leading to the control area. When she begins to walk, a shark begins to set her sights on her. She senses that something is not right and begins to run towards the control room. Upon further review, she spots a shark ready to attack her.
However, she is able to stop as the shark comes up from the water trying to eat her. She slips into the water as the shark heads back underwater ready to pounce again. Sabrina gets up while holding onto the railing to pick herself up. She begins to run toward the control room. The shark bumps onto the railing and the force nearly causes Sabrina to fall over the railing into the water.
A nervous Sabrina gets right up and begins to run again. The shark comes out of the water trying to eat her alive.
Press “A” and “B” to dive… Well done!
She is able to dive forward as the shark barely misses her foot as it hits the water. Despite falling head first into the water, she pushes herself in and rushes towards the door before the shark can get back up. She rushes in as the shark pops out of the water hitting the door hard.
Luckily for Sabrina, the door is made out of steel. There is a ladder that leads down to the control area, she heads down. When she reaches down, she sees a door that is locked. She uses the Control Room key to open the door.
This key is useless. Will you discard? You have selected yes.
She enters the control room that is filled with many controls and a view of the submerged Aqua Ring. She finds the control to drain the water and presses it. However, after she presses it the shark comes in and bashes into the window nearly breaking it. The shutters come down, but do not close fully indicating the safety has been triggered.
Warning: The control room has reached critical state. Room will overflow if the shutters are not closed properly.
10% Critical…
Sabrina begins to panic as the shark continues to bang itself onto the window. Some water begins to get into the room as she looks for the safety to disengage it.
30% Critical…
After disengaging the safety, the shutters reopen and the shark bangs onto the wall again causing the glass to nearly break.
50% Critical…
She tries to close the shutters again, but they only close halfway. The system message reads…
Not enough pressure to close shutters, open valve #2 to release pressure…
80% Critical…
She quickly heads to the valves and turns valve #2 to the right to release the pressure. After releasing the pressure the shutters head back up as Sabrina has to close them again.
90% CRITICAL…
The shark bangs into the glass again and the glass nearly breaks as the water flows in at a quicker pace. She tries to close the shutter for a third time as the shark goes back and prepares to slam into the glass again. Sabrina hits the switch again and the shutters begin to close.
“Come on, you gotta close quicker before that shark hits the glass. One more hit and I’ll become shark food!” She says in panic as she wants to shutters to close quickly.
She braces for impact and braces for the idea she might be swimming with the fishes in only in a matter of seconds. However to her surprise, the alarm stops and the shutters are fully closed. Sabrina is relieved to see that she has survived the ordeal.
Heading to the control switch to drain the water, she hits the switch and the water begins to drain. After a minute or so, the water has drained completely. She heads to where the valves are located and the door that was inaccessible due to the water. She opens the door and finds herself in what is a washed away storage room.
While most of the boxes are washed away with most of the contents useless, she is able to spot something useful.
Picked up +6 Acid Rounds. Acid Rounds: 11
She sees double doors ahead of her and decides to enter. Entering though the doors, she finds herself in what used to be the research room. It’s now a washed up hole with all the equipment non-salvageable. As she continues through the room, she sees the shark that was attacking her all washed up still jumping up and down.
Sabrina spots a key on top of a small platform and she goes up the small stairs and attempts to grab the key. The shark comes back and slams into the box that is holding the key. The key falls by the shark and it’s too dangerous for Sabrina to try to grab the key.
She sees a generator that she can push into the water and uses as a conductor to fry the shark. Pushing the generator, she prays in her head that this works. Once the generator falls into the water, she hits the switch and the generator turns on in the water.
The generator short circuits and fries the shark entirely. The switch blows up and the arc flash blows near her face. She jumps back to avoid being hit by the sparks. Once the sparks stop, she heads into the water to recover the key.
Picked up a Dormitory Key.
Sabrina CHECKS the Key. Turning the key around reveals the number 103. This is the key that opens Dorm Room 103.
Not seeing anything else, she gets out. When she returns to the storage room, she sees a ladder leading up. A few seconds later, a rush of water is heard and she realizes the water has been filled back into the Aqua Ring. She rushes to the ladder and climbs quickly as the water rushes through the door.
The water quickly overflows the room and reaches her feet before she is able to climb the ladder to the top. She opens the metal door escaping the water and making her way back to the hallway.
“Who could have turned the water back on? No, Thomas couldn’t, he wouldn’t… but who else could it have been.” She tries to find out who activated the water back at the ring.
Sabrina becomes concerned that the team might have been setup to die in the mansion. With the key, she can now enter Room 103 and see what is going on there. Heading up the ladder, she ends up back in Room 102.
She spots something on the bed. By the fact it’s scattered, someone must have dropped it. It seems to be a document that she reads.
Ivy Plant Report
“We are working on a new project called ‘Ivy’. To the media, this is supposed to be a creature we are testing to see if it beats ‘cancer’. However, when we applied the Raven Hawk virus, we saw many things that were beyond what we thought were possible.
The plant grew it’s roots into the break room in the Aqua Ring. The roots have weakened the foundation of the Aqua Ring. Despite this mishap, we might have uncovered the next great bioweapon. Imagine if we can take out our enemies with plants and through organic means. We would be able to take guns out of the market and we could have control of the defense department. Or even better we can take over the world for ourselves.
The problem is, we have to gain control of these creatures, or these creatures will be useless as they will kill us as well.
Ivy is a huge plant monster with huge tentacles and the ability to spit poison at their victims. It’s located in the library of the guardhouse and all guards have been asked to stay away until we come up with an antivirus to kill off the creature. All we know is that the creature is susceptible to fire or flammable weapons. We have to kill off the root, but even if we do there it’s not 100% foolproof.
The plant we used in the experiment was a Venus Flytrap and despite the initial results, we plan to create mobile models to use in the B.O.W. market. Ivy might just be the bestselling B.O.W.”
“Those damn monsters! Hybrid is planning to take over the world, now it’s critical that we get out of here alive. I’m sure we’re going to be public enemy number one if and when we do escape this hell hole.” She says after reading the report.
Before she can get out though, the zombie that was in the bathroom pops out through the door. The crimson face zombie pops out of the bathroom and grabs her. The zombie gets a good bit on her as she is unprepared for it. She pushes the zombie away and blasts it with a standard grenade. The blast takes out the door along with the arms and head of the zombie.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
Standard Grenades: 16
Sabrina heads back to the gallery. She decides to save her ultra herb for a direr situation. Once she arrives at the gallery, she heads towards Room 103. Using the key to unlock the door, she opens the door and enters the room. When she enters, she sees a door leading to the bathroom that she opens using her lockpick.
