Ultimate Nightmare Set, page 30
part #1 of Angel's Nightmare Adventure Series
He sees a small panel on the floor with a ladder leading down and sees the blue item. When he gets there, he picks the item up.
Picked up a Blue Keycard. Checking the Keycard, it reads, “Access to Exit Hatch.”
Hondo picks up the keycard and out of nowhere a couple of guerillas surprise him. He isn’t prepared and takes a punch to the stomach from one of the gorilla’s.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Hondo lands on the ground and the other gorilla jumps trying to crush him. He rolls out of the way and gets up as quickly as he can. Once he gets up, he lands a desperation punch on the attacking gorilla that actually makes good contact.
The other gorilla grabs him and puts him in a bear hug. Hondo is barely able to get his hands free and lands a few punches with the brass knucks landing on the creature’s face. The damage dealt is enough that the gorilla lets him go and he’s able to escape. Instead of risking his health, he decides to run up the ladder and escape from the sewer filter room.
Once he gets back to the hall, he finds Harrison and Linda waiting for him.
“Did you find anything Hondo?” Harrison asks.
“Yup, just what we need.” Hondo answers while showing the blue keycard.
Hondo USES the Blue Keycard on the keycard reader.
Inserting the keycard, he sees the panel read open and the hatch unlock. Opening the hatch, they see a set of stairs that lead up to the outside. When they get outside they are met with a huge horde of zombies waiting for them like Linda indicated.
“Oh crap, it looks like Linda wasn’t kidding! The zombies are out in force!” Hondo screams seeing the horde of zombies.
The three look for an escape route, but Linda quickly spots something in the distance. According to Linda, what she sees are headlights belonging to a bus.
“I see a bus coming our way!” Linda screams to the men.
“She’s right, but I think that bus is coming at full speed to kill us not pick us up!” Harrison sees the bus speeding up towards them.
With no time Harrison and Linda jump towards the left while Hondo dives to his right. The bus comes crashing towards them and hits a flammable canister. The impact causes the bus to explode separating Hondo from the rest of the crew.
Getting up, he sees the burning bus and tries to find his way around. Before he could go too far though, he finds himself surrounded by a horde of zombies. He grabs his shotgun and shoots a couple of shotgun shells killing a few zombies.
Shotgun Shells: 16
Despite killing the zombies, more keep arriving and eventually the numbers game catch up to Hondo. He tries to punch his way through the zombies. Even with the brass knuckles, the number of zombies proves too great. He backs up and turns around looking to escape. Instead he hits a solid concrete wall and has no way to escape.
“Oh man… this is not good. It looks like badass Hondo is about to die a really lousy death…” He says as he covers his face with his arms bracing for impact.
The zombies approach desperate to make Hondo their next tasty meal.
Chapter 8
Hondo braces for impact and prepares to be bitten up, as there is no escape until he hears machine gun fire. The machine gun bullets rain on the attacking zombies and the undead begin to go down like bowling pins.
“Hey man, take your arms away from your face and help me kill these freaks!” A female voice screams at Hondo.
He pulls out his shotgun. Between him and the mysterious female, they are able to clear out the zombie mess. Once the zombies are all dead, Hondo asks who the female is.
Shotgun Ammo: 10
“Thanks for saving me and by the way that’s a sexy motorcycle outfit. I need to know, who are you?”
“I’m surprised you didn’t recognize my voice hun. If it wasn’t for me you’ll be dead.” The woman takes off her helmet.
“Dawn?! I mean, thank you for saving me, but what in the hell are you doing here? Are you out of your mind girl?!”
Dawn reveals herself as the mystery woman who saved Hondo. She’s wearing a pair of knee high heel boots and a red/black motorcycle outfit that leaves Hondo in shock.
“I know you’re worried about me, but… I couldn’t leave you out alone to be killed in a zombie apocalypse. We’re friends and don’t worry I can handle myself.” She replies.
“I just… I just… didn’t realize that you could dress so prepared to… kick ass.” Hondo tries to pick out the correct words to respond with.
“I might be a girl, but I can handle myself with the toughest of them. I have my feisty side you know.” She says in a sexy tone and taps Hondo’s cheeks.
“That’s good, anyway thanks. I found a few survivors along the way, but the bus crash caused us to separate. We’re trying to get to an underground laboratory where a scientist I found who works there indicated that it’s nearby.” He explains.
“Good job, how about the chief?” She asks.
“Well, he was hurt when I found him. So I went to get something to heal him with, but by the time I got back there he wasn’t there and a zombie was there instead. It leads me to believe that he either turned into a zombie and I killed him or he’s still out there.” He answers.
“Listen, if you find Chief Mustang, be careful. I looked more into him and it seems he’s up to no good. I found out in the dark web when I took a look that he is indeed working with Hybrid. This might sound crazy, but John might be setting us up if and when we get to the laboratory.” She responds.
“I say we split up. I’ll keep exploring the bus depot and you go look for more survivors, sounds good?” He asks.
Dawn nods her head and the two head their separate ways. Hondo gathers himself and sees the bus depot just ahead, so he heads towards that direction.
Going to the depot, he spots a few strikers who begin to give chase towards him. Seeing a gated area ahead, he decides to jump the gate instead of fighting the raccoons. After a few seconds, more raccoons begin to pop out from nowhere as he continues to run towards the gate. When he gets to the gate, he realizes that the top of the gate has barbed wire.
Despite that though, he can ill-afford to try and fight the horde of raccoons. So he jumps onto the gate and begins to climb up, one of the strikers gets close to biting him on the leg. However, he’s able to avoid being bit and continues to climb up. Once he gets to the barbed wire, he grabs the pipe above that is running across as leverage to pick himself up.
His leather jacket and part of his pants gets torn apart by the barbed wire. At least he manages to avoid getting cut in general. He jumps over the pipe and lands on the floor in the gate area. He sees the strikers unable to get in and he feels a bit of relief.
Hondo can’t get too comfortable as a couple of the raccoons try to climb up the gate. Seeing a flammable container, he shoots it causing it to explode. As a result, the gate catches fire and the strikers on the gate burn to death. The other raccoons simply run from the gate and leave the area. The gate stays burning blocking Hondo from going back to meet Dawn.
“Damn, it looks like I’m on my own here.” He says watching the burning gate.
Moving forward, he spots some more zombies in front of him and he shoots many of them with his pistol killing them.
Pistol Ammo: 36
He can see the actual bus depot ahead and begins to run towards the building. Before he can get there though, he sees a bus ready to crash towards him.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Good!
He’s able to backflip out of the way from the crashing bus. The bus turns over on its side and blocks Hondo’s path to the bus depot. He sees an alternative path to the depot through the lot of parked buses.
Going through the parked buses, he spots a couple of buses that are opened. Deciding that he might find something useful in the buses, he enters one of them. Inside the bus, he finds several dead bodies and wonders if any are infected already. He sees a couple of pickups.
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 17
Picked up a Green Herbal Mix.
One of the dead bodies gets up and tries to go after Hondo. However, he is prepared and deals a hard right jab right into the jaw of the zombie. The zombie backs away and leaves itself open to attack. Hondo attacks the zombie with another punch to the face and knocks it out. He finishes the zombie off by stepping on the zombie’s head crushing it.
Leaving the bus, he finds himself meeting a flesher that senses him and attacks. He tries to shoot the flesher with his shotgun, but the flesher jumps on top of the bus to his shock. Once the pink creature is on top of the bus, Hondo is unable to see where it’s located. He tries to run from the area, but trips on a lone rock falling to the ground.
Shotgun Ammo: 16
When he lands on the ground, the flesher jumps back down to the surface and sticks out its tongue to attack Hondo. He’s able to roll out of the way, but still gets hit by the sharp tongue attack.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Luckily for Hondo, most of the impact is absorbed by this nearly torn up leather jacket. He gets up quickly and braces for the next attack. The flesher jumps towards Hondo and tries to slash him.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Well Done!
He sidesteps from the attack and shoots the flesher in the back with his shotgun. Before he can shoot again, he has to reload his shotgun. Seeing a down rusty pipe he grabs it quickly and tries to use it to slam the flesher. The flesher steps to the right and Hondo misses with the pipe. The flesher tries to slash Hondo, but he thinks quickly and uses the pipe to block the claws.
When the flesher stops attacking, he swings the pipe on it’s head knocking it out. Afterwards, he thrusts the end of the pipe into the flesher’s head killing it.
“Whew! That was close, I better be more careful. Now that it’s getting darker, these monsters could ambush me faster.” He says to himself.
Continuing down the path of buses, he reaches another bus that has been left unlocked. Entering the bus, he sees a zombie crawling towards him. Waiting for the zombie to get to him, he prepares his shotgun. When the zombie gets close to him, he points the barrel of the shotgun at the zombie. Hondo pulls the trigger and the blood from the exploded head of the zombie spills all over the bus.
“Die you son of a bitch!” He screams.
He sees an open briefcase and begins to read some of the fallen papers.
Story for the tribune about strange events in White Plains
“There have been some weird things going on in White Plains lately. Some of them lead me to believe that the events that took place in Brooklyn, NY two years ago will happen once again. I’ve been observing people getting sick out of nowhere. Hospital visits have gone up 200% since last year and 75% from only a couple of months ago.
I can’t be too sure if it’s something in the air, food, or even the water. However, I did notice work has been done in the dam in Rockland County. The nature of the work though is relatively unknown. It’s quite possible that Hybrid has their hands in this as well. Rumors are flying that there is a secret underground facility owned by Hybrid. Once again though, it’s just a rumor and unless I see it for myself, I have to remain objective in my views.
I did notice a significant amount of security guarding one of the buildings in the White Plains bus depot. Why would there be such security in a lousy bus depot? I’ll see if I can somehow get a sneak peek inside that particular building as I have another story about the bus company trying to improve operations. Something tells me there is something not even the bus company wants the public to know.
Not to mention that Chief Mustang is trying to sell the police station in order to move it to a “more desirable” location. Is it a coincidence that all this is happening right before Hybrid is due to complete their sub-headquarters in the outskirts of Westchester County? I think not…
I’ll try to call George and see what he can tell me. He might be the only one I can trust actually and the only one who knows the truth about Hybrid.”
After reading the note, he notices the body that was carrying the briefcase is on the floor dead. However, telling by the method of death the man wasn’t sitting down. In fact, it looks like he was running. Looking at the body further, Hondo finds out that the man wasn’t even bitten to death. Seeing a bullet wound in the back of the head, he concludes that he was shot instead.
“This was no accident, it appears this man was a danger to the plot and probably a danger to Hybrid. As much I like to believe he was killed by accident, I highly doubt it. I wonder if the chief has any knowledge of this.” Hondo’s suspicions of foul play reappear after seeing the suspicious death.
It becomes clear to Hondo that Hybrid didn’t want this “accident” to go public and they’re indeed the ones behind this newest outbreak. He can’t help but to be suspicious about the chief and to a lesser extent, Linda.
Looking around, he sees a couple of pickups.
Picked up a Pistol Clip. Pistol Ammo: 51
Picked up a Red Herbal Mix.
Hondo mixes the Green mix with the Red Mix to get a Super Herbal Mix.
Getting out of the bus, he sees that he close to the actual bus depot. Running towards the depot, he is met by four zombies. He kills the first two zombies with ease with his pistol. However, he one tries to grab him from behind. Hondo turns around quickly and lands an uppercut with the brass knuckles. Landing another jab on the zombie’s eyes, he causes the zombie to bleed out of its eyes.
Pistol Ammo: 44
Once the zombie hits the floor, the fourth zombie that he forgot about, surprises him from the left. The zombie begins to bite him on the shoulder and lands a good bite on him.
Condition: Danger
He’s able to fight off the zombie and decides to use the shotgun to avoid taking any chances. Aiming for the head, he takes out the zombie’s head.
Shotgun Ammo: 15
Seeing his leather jacket, he notices that for the most part is torn up and its usefulness has been exhausted. Taking it off, he throws it to the ground and realizes he has to be more careful as his arms are perfectly exposed to zombie bites.
“I’m surprised this jacket lasted me this long. Not to mention, I’m surprised that I’ve survived without contracting the Raven Hawk virus. Might be my powerful immune system, but I do feel a bit weird…” He says as his stomach becomes a bit upset, but doesn’t think about it much.
Hondo USES the Super Herbal Mix.
Condition: Fine
After healing himself, he makes his way to the front door of the depot. To his frustration, the door is locked.
This door requires a Keycard to open.
Spotting a security booth ahead, he heads there. As he walks the pain in his stomach begins to become a bit more profound. It’s nothing that he can’t handle though and he keeps moving towards the security booth. As he approaches the booth, he turns around and looks around for any creatures or zombies. To his relief though there are none. Hondo opens the door cautiously.
Entering the booth, he sees quite a few pickups to be obtained.
Picked up a Pistol Clip. Pistol Ammo: 59
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 22
Picked up a Magnum Clip. This is used with a .50AE Desert Eagle once obtained.
Grabbing the pickups, he is about to leave the booth until he hears a loud monstrous noise. Taking his shotgun just in case, he looks outside and sees nothing but the dark scenery.
“I must be hearing things.” He says.
Hondo is a bit disappointed as he was unable to find the keycard leading to the bus depot. To his surprise, he spots Linda running to the bus depot being chased by a guerilla.
“Linda!” He screams at Linda.
She tries to get in the door, but is so nervous that she drops the keycard. Hondo takes his shotgun and shoots the gorilla. With the gorilla going down to the floor, he rushes towards it before it can get up. With extreme anger, Hondo punches the gorilla non-stop until he bashes the creature’s face in.
He gets up and asks, “Linda, are you ok?”
“Yes, I was heading to the bus depot before this gorilla began to chase me.” She answers.
“Harrison! What happened to Harrison?” He asks.
“I’m afraid he’s dead, we were surrounded by a horde of zombies. I wanted to help as I know how to use a gun, but Harrison refused to let me help him. He told me to get into a small space so I can get away. In essence, he sacrificed his life for me.” She responds soberly.
“At least you tried to help. Harrison looked like the kind of guy who had more pride than brains. Listen Linda, is there anything I have to know about the involvement of Hybrid and the chief of the White Plains police department?” He asks sternly.
“I wish I knew, but I really don’t know. I told you I only worked for them for 6 months. All I can say is that there is a good chance Hybrid is up to no good and I’m better off getting away from them when this is all over.” She presents her innocence.
“I figured you wouldn’t know too much. However, we can agree that Hybrid is in on this. However, if there is anything else you know, tell me. I promise I won’t judge you.”
“Actually, there is one thing. I managed to sneak a look at the newest project, it’s called Broken Arrow. The underground facility is behind this bus depot. The reason why it’s hidden is because Chief Mustang was paid off to keep quiet. If I were you, I would keep an eye on him. Although it seems he might be regretting his decision.”
“I don’t know about that. I found a man dead in the bus and he was a rather powerful journalist.”
“I guess the monsters got to him as well, damn.”
“No Linda, the monsters didn’t kill him. He was shot from behind and it looks like someone didn’t want him to find out too much.”
“Could it be the chief then?”
“I wouldn’t be surprised, but at the same time he might just have become the hunted. I’ve learned that Hybrid is a treacherous company who doesn’t care about anyone but themselves and their bottom line. I know you don’t want anything to do with Hybrid, but you know enough to expose their operation. Do you think you can help me in that?”
