Ultimate Nightmare Set, page 29
part #1 of Angel's Nightmare Adventure Series
“This manual is served to help the user power the generator should there be a power failure anywhere in the power grid. While this manual is written in the simplest language possible, it is recommended that a person with some electrical knowledge turn the generator on.
1. Insert the diesel into the gasoline tank.
2. Turn on the main generator power. It will be on standby when it’s turned on at first.
3. Open the front panel and carefully wire the relay for a Normally Closed (N/C) circuit so that power flows continuously. Setting it on Normally Open (N/O) is reserved when power is totally gone, in most cases this is not used. This is where some experience in the electrical field is needed.
4A. If power is out in the entire building, N/O will be used. Be warned that it will not provide power to the Radio.
4B. If power is still on, use N/C to route power to the areas where the grid has failed. This is used if the Radio needs to be used.
5. This is all dependent on the actual wiring of the building. If power still doesn’t get to a certain part of the building or the Radio, the problem is most likely wiring.”
6. Remember that this generator is for emergency use only and any electrical problems should be fixed right away.”
After reading the manual, he begins to follow the instructions carefully.
Hondo USES the Container of Diesel.
Pouring in the diesel into the tank, he turns on the generator and it reads that its on standby mode like the manual indicated. Looking at the front panel, he opens it and sees a bunch of wires connected already. However, most of the black and white wires lead to the many individual circuits in the building. The only two wires that are capped are the Red and Black wires that go into the relay.
Grabbing the wires he nervously inserts the black wire into the C (Common) terminal on the relay. To his relief, no sparks fly and he’s still alive.
“Now I know why I never chose to be an electrician. This stuff can really be stressful on one’s mind. Now if I’m correct the red wire goes to N/C.” He says as he carefully wires the relay.
He begins to sweat a bit and tries to avoid touching the red with the connected black. Using the small screwdriver in the generator, he loosens the terminal. After the terminal is loose, he carefully inserts the red wire into the N/C terminal. Once the wire is in the terminal, he tightens it.
After the wires are inserted properly, the generator LED screen reads that it’s operating under N/C conditions. That is exactly what Hondo needed to get the radio going. Once the generator gets going, he rushes back to the elevator. Hopping into the elevator, he heads back down to the first floor and enters the radio room.
Despite the confusing controls, he tries his best to get the radio operating. He hears the door opening behind him and turns around quickly.
“Whoa! It’s me!” Harrison walks into the room.
“Oh you scared me, next time how about knocking?” He asks.
“Sorry, I had no idea you were in here. I see you got the radio going, now let’s see if we can get some help here.” Harrison says.
Harrison heads to the radio and turns on the station. Hondo puts on the other set of headphones as they wait for an answer from the other side.
“Hey is anyone there? Harrison from the White Plains station here, we need help here…”
“Who are you calling Harrison?” Hondo asks.
“I’m trying to contact the Westchester central police station and see if they can send the swat team here.” Harrison answers.
Harrison goes back to talking to central station and says, “Is anyone there? Please someone, answer!”
Harrison and Hondo get no answer from the station. That leads them to believe that the virus and zombies have expanded towards the main part of Westchester.
“Crap! This is not good at all!” Harrison replies.
“What’s wrong?” Hondo asks.
“I didn’t get an answer from the main central station of Westchester. I wanted to get the swat team here, but I got no answer.” Harrison answers.
“Let me try.” Hondo replies.
Hondo heads to the radio station and says, “Hey, this is Hondo. I’m a PI and I need some backup here. We’re being invaded by zombies here and I got a couple of survivors. If you can hear me, please respond!”
However, he gets no response and now believes Harrison.
“Now you believe me Hondo?”
“Damn, looks like we’re not getting any backup after all. It looks like we gotta get out of here on our own.”
“I don’t know how we can do that, the creatures are only growing in numbers.” Harrison gives a less than optimistic response.
“We can’t stay here anymore as it’s too dangerous to be here. We have to make an effort at least.” Hondo tries to knock some sense to Harrison.
“I guess you’re right. By the way the woman ran away from me after we were chased by gorillas in the lobby.”
“You mean Linda? If so, she’s in serious danger. Not to mention that Chief Mustang is MIA as well!” Hondo replies.
“Listen there is a back way out of here. A manhole is located in the garage under a heavy box. I’ll show you when we get down there, just follow me.” Harrison replies.
“Ok, let’s go.” Hondo says.
Before Hondo leaves, he spots a pickup on the table.
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 17
After grabbing the shotgun shells, both him and Harrison head towards the garage.
Chapter 7
Harrison and Hondo head towards the lobby where the gorillas try to attack them both. One of the gorillas attacks Harrison and knocks him down while the other goes after Hondo.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Well Done!
Hondo is able to dodge the attack from the guerilla and sidesteps. He shoots the right side of the gorilla a couple of times with his shotgun killing it.
Shotgun Ammo: 15
The other gorilla tries to finish off Officer Harrison until Hondo whips the gorilla with his shotgun from behind. Once the gorilla is down, he shoots it in the head with his shotgun.
Shotgun Ammo: 14
After killing the gorillas in the lobby, he heads towards Harrison to pick him up from the floor.
“Thanks man, you saved my butt.” Harrison thanks Hondo.
“Don’t sweat it hermano.”
Before the two can gather themselves, they see the shaft that was keeping the horde of zombies outside come crashing down. The horde begins to rush inside the lobby.
“Oh crap, we better get out of here if we don’t want to be their next meal.” Hondo screams.
“I’m with you on that one brother! Let’s get downstairs.” Harrison follows.
The two of them head into the stairway and head downstairs as fast as they can knowing the police station has become a death trap at best. As much as Hondo is concerned about Linda and the chief, he knows that if they have not found a way out it’ll be too late for them.
When the two get downstairs, they see there are a few zombies that have made it already downstairs.
“Oh hell no, how did these guys get down here?” Harrison asks in agony.
“They must have found another weak spot in this hell hole!” Hondo answers.
The two of them work together to kill off the zombies in the holding cells. One of the other holding cells opens when another zombie pops out trying to catch the two men by surprise. However, Hondo relaxes and lands a good left uppercut, popping off the head of the zombie. When he enters the open cell, he sees a healing item.
Picked up a Green Herbal Mix.
When he picks up the herb, he decides to use it right away.
Hondo USES the Green Herbal Mix.
Condition: Fine
After grabbing the herbal mixture, Hondo and Harrison continue to go towards the garage. Upon entering the garage, they are approached by a flesher. The flesher jumps towards the two trying to claw them.
Press “A” and “B” to dodge… Good!
The two of them are able to get out of the way from the attack and the flesher hits the door hard. The impact causes it to go down on the floor and open to attack. Hondo kills the flesher with a single shotgun blast on its head and the flesher’s brains are blown off.
Shotgun Ammo: 13
Once he kills the flesher, he hears the loud sound of the door being opened leading to the holding cells. Harrison grabs his keys and drops them. Hondo picks them up quickly and uses them to open the gate. When the two of them get inside the actual garage, they lock the gate to buy some time.
“The manhole is open, but it’s hidden under this heavy box. It’s too heavy for one of us to push alone, we need to work together and push this box.” Harrison screams.
“Oh man, we better move it! Those zombies are getting close and they are knocking on the door to their next meal.” Hondo screams as he hears the door leading to the garage being banged on.
Both men begin to push the heavy box and after a few pushes, the open manhole is revealed. Harrison goes down first with Hondo following him. As Hondo heads down into the sewers, the zombies break through the door and enter the garage.
Hondo grabs the heavy manhole cover and sets it so that it covers the hole to avoid any zombies from following. The two of them make it down into the sewers and begin to wonder though. When they get to a corner, they spot Linda wondering in the sewer.
“Linda!” Hondo yells her name.
“Hondo and Harrison! Are you guys ok?” She asks.
“Yeah we’re ok, how about you?” Hondo asks.
“I’m fine, but I rushed down here when I was able to find another way out of the police station.” She answers.
“I’m glad we’re together, but how did you end up here?” Hondo asks.
“I was able to escape through a small alley and got to the bus depot. However, the horde of zombies is far too great out there. I had to run down here.” She answers.
“At least you were smart enough to run down here.” Harrison says.
“We need to go back though. The underground laboratory is just beyond the bus depot and there is a secret transport that leads out of Westchester and into Rockland County. I hope that Rockland County is still safe.” She explains.
“It sounds like we gotta break into the devil’s playground to get out. Well, it’s better than my plan. Let’s go!” Hondo agrees with the plan.
The three of them head through the sewers where there are huge poisonous spiders blocking the way to the nearest manhole. Pulling out his shotgun, Hondo teams up with Harrison to kill a couple of the spiders leaving only one. The last spider tries to spit poison to Linda, but Hondo pushes her to the water and takes the poison spit instead.
Shotgun Ammo: 12
Condition: Poison
Harrison decides to take on the spider and kills it, after killing the spider he checks up on Hondo.
“Hondo are you ok?” Harrison says.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. Actually, I’m actually swell and that spit didn’t do too much.” He replies.
“Are you sure?” Linda asks.
“Ahh… yeah I’m sure. If not, I wouldn’t be getting up. Now let’s get to the manhole, shall we?” He replies not showing any pain or suffering.
The three of them head towards the nearest manhole and they begin to head up. However, they see that the manhole is covered. Despite Hondo’s best effort to open the cover, they are unable to open the cover.
“I can’t open this cover, you sure you came through here Linda?” Hondo asks.
“Yes I did, someone must have closed it.” She answers.
“Closed? It looks like the cover is sealed. I can’t even move it a little!” Hondo replies.
“This doesn’t look right. Perhaps Hybrid might have found out about Linda and are trying to make sure we don’t escape.” Harrison puts his two cents in.
“We gotta find another way out of here!” Hondo says frustrated.
“All we can do is move forward and see where if we can find another way out.” Linda replies.
The three see a hatch that they are able to open and continue through until they see another hatch that is locked with a keycard panel to the right.
The door requires a Keycard to unlock.
Hondo sees another door and decides that he should explore the rest of the sewers.
“Hey guys, I think we should split up. I’ll see where this hatch leads me while you guys stay here and see if you can get the manhole cover uncovered.” Hondo says.
“You sure man?” Harrison asks.
“Yeah Hermano, we stand a better chance of surviving if we can cover more ground. I’ll be back as soon as I find the keycard.” Hondo answers.
Harrison and Linda nod their heads while Hondo heads through the hatch. When he gets through, he finds himself in a hallway where a striker is ready to pounce on him. Despite his dizziness, he tries to shoot the striker but misses badly with his shotgun.
Shotgun Ammo: 11
The striker jumps towards him and lands a scratch on him. The raccoon tries to bite him seeing that he is poisoned. Hondo still has good enough sight to spot the aggressive striker and lands a hard left hook on the side of the raccoon’s face.
After knocking out the striker, he pulls out his pistol and lands a couple of shots on the creature killing it.
Pistol Ammo: 35
Even though he survives, he continues to feel weaker with the poison draining him. He opens the double doors ahead of him and kneels down as the poison continues to drain him.
“Man I better find something, now this toxic spit is really kicking in.” He says weakly.
Entering a locker room, he sees a flesher on the ceiling. That is the last thing he wanted to see, but to his relief there are some blue herbs growing that will heal him.
Crawling slowly, Hondo is careful to not get the attention of the creature and tries to hold in the vomiting sensation he has. He stops to avoid making too much noise and sees the flesher move on the ceiling. It’s enough to get him nervous, but he continues to keep his cool.
Once he gets close to the herbs, he grabs one. However, the flesher hears the noise and jumps down to the floor. It makes a growling noise. Luckily for Hondo it still hasn’t detected his presence. The flesher is far too close for comfort, so he pulls out his shotgun ever so slowly.
Picked up a Blue Herb. Cures Poison condition.
Once he gets his shotgun into his hand, he slowly lifts up the weapon and aims it at the flesher. Once he has his weapon aimed at the flesher, he pulls the trigger and shoots the brains out of the flesher killing it.
Relieved, Hondo gets up and takes the herb. He knows about the local herbs that grow in New York State. Taking the blue herb, he crushes it and intakes it. Quickly after he spots a sink and drinks some water to activate the effects for the herb.
Once he intakes the herb along with the water, he sits on the chair to let the effects pass by slowly. After a couple of minutes, the dizzy spell begins to go away and the pain in his stomach goes away.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
Once he’s completely better, he begins to explore the locker room carefully to see if he can spot anything useful. On the floor next to the lockers, he sees a sewer worker who has been cut up trying to defend himself. Hondo sees the dead worker was armed with a pistol and spots an unused clip on the floor.
Picked up a Pistol Clip. Pistol Ammo: 50
He spots nothing else on the corpse and continues to look in the room. He begins to look in the lockers, but to his frustration most of them are locked except one. Looking inside he sees a pickup…
Picked up a First Aid Spray.
Looking on the table, he sees a note on the table along with something with it.
To Brad,
“To my best friend Brad, I hope these brass knuckles prove to be useful in case anyone tries to get smart with you. However, I did have to get through some ‘checkpoints’ so to say in order to send these. They are illegal after all.
If they do nothing for you, just think of these as a last line of defense in case of a zombie outbreak. I know how much of a zombie freak you are. Anyway man, I hope you enjoy my small gift to you.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAD! From your best friend, Jo…”
(The name is covered in blood)
After reading the note, he studies the brass knuckles and sees that they are made out of pure gold with spikes for added impact.
Picked up the Gold Brass Knuckles. These enhanced knuckles increase the damage dealt in melee combat. Also lowers the chance of getting infected with a virus if you strike a zombie in the mouth.
Once he puts them on, he feels like a total badass and wants a few zombies to come to him so he can test his new weapon. Then again, he won’t feel bad if he can’t avoid zombies period.
Finding nothing else in the locker room, he heads towards the next hatch and opens it. When he opens the door, he finds himself in the control room. The control room is filled with zombies that go after him and it gives him a chance to test out his next weapon.
A couple of zombies head towards him and he waits for them to get closer. When they get too close he whacks them with his popular left hook and rips their jaws easily with the brass knuckles. Hondo doesn’t have much time to celebrate though as he is grabbed by another zombie from his right side.
Without panicking, he takes his left hand and deals a punch right to the zombie’s face. The zombie lets go of him and he throws a haymaker that connects right squared in the zombie’s face. He throws another punch just for good measure and ends up breaking through the head of the zombie.
“Might be disgusting to see, but it’s survival of the fittest.” He says despite being covered in blood.
After trying out his weapon successfully, he checks the control room for the keycard. He does find a couple of things, but none are the keycard.
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 18
He sees a huge red button on the control panel and decides to press it. Pressing the button causes the water in the filtering area to be flushed away. He can see the water being flushed out from the window. When he sees the water flushed away totally, he sees a blue item below.
