Ultimate Nightmare Set, page 28
part #1 of Angel's Nightmare Adventure Series
He decides to forget about her and continues his exploration of the police station. He sees the continuation of the hallway where he was before and makes his way down the hall. When he gets to the end of the hallway, he sees a shaft blocking his way. Next to the shaft he sees a hexagonal nut that looks like it turns. However, he’s unable to turn it with his hands.
“Damn as strong as I am, even I can’t turn this damn thing. I better find something. The elevator is probably behind the shaft.” He says as his progress is blocked off.
Turning around, he heads back to the stairway in order to reach the basement. As he gets back to the lobby, he is ambushed by a couple of Guerillas who appear out of nowhere. Usually, Hondo is not the one to run away from fights but his health being so low he thinks better.
One of the gorillas jumps in front of him blocking his way to the stairway. The creature wall jumps and lands a punch on Hondo knocking him down to the floor.
Condition: Danger
He gets up as quickly as he can as the gorilla attempts to jump up and stomp on him.
Press “A” and “B” to roll… Good!
He barely gets out of the way from the stomping gorilla that ends up damaging the motorcycle. Getting up, he runs from the creatures and opens the door entering the stairway. He jumps down the stairs and continues down when he gets to the landing. When he gets to the door leading to the basement, he finds himself in the holding cells.
Entering the unpleasant halls of the holding cells, he hears a strange animal sound. With his shotgun, he is unable to spot the source of the noise. He enters an open cell and checks it. A dead prisoner is found inside with many bites and her veins have turned purple.
“Hmm… A signature of the Raven Hawk virus, looks like this woman is about to turn into a zombie soon or she might be already dead.” He says to himself looking at the body.
However, the bites do not look human at all and the bites are rather small, However, there are many spread around the body. Hondo believes that the noise he heard could be associated with the death of the prisoner.
Next to the body there is a pick up.
Picked up a Green Herbal Mix.
Hondo mixes a Green Herbal Mix with the Red Herbal Mix to create a Super Herbal Mix.
He uses the Super Herbal Mix.
Condition: Fine
Once he heals himself, he tries to leave the cell but quickly turns around as he spots the dead female prisoner get up.
“Looks like the virus is trying to expand!” He says seeing the zombie’s skin turn into the signature purplish color.
With no time to grab his weapon, he kicks the legs of the zombie to take it down to its knees. He then lands a right/left hook combination onto the female’s head to snap the head off its neck. He backs up quickly in order to avoid being stained with the infected blood.
As effective as punching might be to conserve ammo, Hondo has to be careful as any exposure to blood could lead him to being infected by the virus. Heading back to the cell block hall, he hears the strange noise again.
Most of the other cells are locked until one of them opens and a new creature pops out of the cell.
Upon first sight, Hondo sees that it has the look of a raccoon and he would be right. However, this raccoon is mutated.
It’s code named “Striker”. It gets its name from the fact that it strikes fast and rather speedy. It’s twice as big as a regular sized raccoon making it intimidating to the naked eye.
Striker is capable of quick but deadly bites. Instead of carrying rabies, it’s carrying a lethal amount of the Raven Hawk virus. It also has sharp claws capable of cutting up a human in no time.
The raccoon jumps towards Hondo and tackles him. The creature begins to scratch him repeatedly. He is unable to punch striker in the mouth as he might get a nasty combination of rabies and the Raven Hawk virus.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
He chokes the raccoon with his left hand while he takes his pistol with his right hand and pistol whips the creature. Once he gets the creature off him, he gets off and pumps a few rounds killing it.
Before he can get too comfortable, he gets attacked by another striker from above. The raccoon tries to bite his shoulder, but Hondo grabs the raccoon and throws it to the wall. As the raccoon hits the wall, it gets back up. The striker runs towards him ready to pounce, however Hondo is prepared and shoots the raccoon dead.
Pistol Ammo: 41
Once he kills the raccoon, he looks at his arms to make sure he isn’t bitten. To his relief, his arms are clear of any bites. Looking in the hall, he sees a door leading to the janitor’s room. He is unable to enter as the door is locked. He sees a small furnace next to the door. Trying to use his lighter to light the furnace, he remembers that his lighter has no lighter fluid.
He sees another door straight ahead and opens the door. He enters another dark hall and spots three doors. Exploring the first door, he enters the electrical room. In the electrical room there is actually nothing to his surprise and the room is free of any bio-weapons or zombies. However, he is constantly looking around just to make sure there are no surprises.
To his relief though, there is nothing around him and he sees the main breakers for the police station. He looks of the fuse for the elevator and sees that it’s blown.
Hondo USES the fuse on the fuse box.
Replacing the fuse seems to have powered up the elevator. He finds something else by the fuse box.
Picked up a Green Herbal Mix.
When he leaves the electrical room, he heads through the other door. Entering the other door, he finds himself in the officer’s shooting range. In the shooting range, he finds some zombies wearing officer uniforms. He kills them rather easily with his pistol without taking a scratch for once.
Pistol Ammo: 30
When he looks in the lockers, he finds a couple of pickups.
Picked up +7 Shotgun Shells. Shotgun Ammo: 17
Picked up a Pistol Clip. Pistol Ammo: 45
Before he leaves though, he sees something shiny in the back of the shooting range. Walking towards the back of the shooting range, he heads towards the shiny object to see what it is. Getting down to the floor, he picks it up.
Picked up a Wrench. I can use this to open the shaft in the first floor.
As soon as he picks up the wrench, a couple of strikers pop out of the vent and begin to attack him. He is able to sidestep the attacks when the two try to tackle him. Grabbing his shotgun, he’s able to shoot both of the raccoons with their backs turned.
Shotgun Ammo: 15
Once he kills the strikers, he looks around to avoid being ambushed. The coast is clear, he exits the shooting range. When he exits the shooting range, he heads back to the hallway. When he heads back to the hallway, he goes to the final door in the hall.
Opening the door, he finds himself in a room with a gate blocking the way to the repair garage. There seems to be a police cruiser under repair and a couple of mechanics on the floor dead. The gate is locked and requires a key to open. He hears screaming coming from the garage next door.
Rushing into the garage, he spots the woman running towards a police armored truck. He also sees a couple of Guerillas chasing her. Running towards the crashed armored truck, he confronts the two gorillas. He shoots one of the gorillas with a couple of well placed shotgun blasts killing it. However, he misses the second gorilla as it jumps up to the ceiling.
Shotgun Ammo: 12
After missing the second gorilla, he looks for the creature but is unable to see in the pitch black ceiling. Keeping his cool he backs up from the truck to avoid being surprised. The gorilla lands on top of another armored truck and beats its stomach while growing.
The gorilla jumps down to Hondo’s level and tries to land a punch on Hondo.
Press “A” and “B” to sidestep… Too Slow!
He is unable to get out of the way and gets dealt a decent shot at him.
Condition: Caution (Level 2)
Hondo lands on the floor dropping his shotgun. The gorilla tries to finish him off with a double-axe handle attack. He’s able to get out of the way by rolling, but the gorilla tries to choke him. Hondo grabs the creature’s right hand and holds it with both of his hands.
Press “A” repeatedly… Good!
Now press “B” repeatedly… Excellent!
It’s a test of strength between Hondo and the gorilla. Despite how strong he is, the gorilla is much stronger and begins to overpower him. The huge hand of the creature begins to get close to his neck. He tries to hold the gorilla back with all his might, but his arms begins to become numb and he loses his grip.
The woman gets out of the back of the truck and sees Hondo struggling. She runs towards Hondo’s shotgun and picks it up. The woman holds the shotgun in a strange way as she has never used a shotgun before.
Despite her inexperience, she aims at the gorilla and shoots closing her eyes. She’s nervous to open her eyes as she doesn’t know if she hit the gorilla or not. Opening her eyes, she sees that the gorilla is hurt and Hondo is free. The gorilla is still alive and with Hondo still on the floor, the woman shoots another shotgun blast killing the creature.
Shotgun Ammo: 10
Once the creature dies, Hondo gets up and recovers back on his feet.
“Thank you for saving my life!” He gives his gratitude to the woman.
“No, thank you for saving me and sorry for running away before.” She replies.
“It’s ok. You were probably scared in this crazy place. Who are you anyway?” He asks her.
“My name is Linda and as you can see I’m a scientist.” Linda answers.
Linda is a woman a few years younger than Hondo. She is a scientist who works for Hybrid and he becomes a bit suspicious. However by her demeanor, he can’t jump to any conclusions.
“Glad to meet you Linda, but I got a couple of questions.” He says.
“What? Like what am I doing here?” She asks.
“Yeah, something like that, but also what are you doing with Hybrid?” He asks.
“Ah… I’m a lab worker in a laboratory that is located in a factory in the industrial park which is not far from here. I came to the police station as soon as the zombies overtook the laboratory. However… when I got here… it was just as bad.” She answers.
“I can see that. Linda, I need to know… do you know Hybrid’s involvement during the events that took place two years ago in NYC?” He asks her a tough question.
“I only worked for Hybrid for about six months. However, the outbreak in NYC was deemed an accident due to the failure of the Raven Hawk Vaccine.” She answers.
“Hmm… you don’t seem to know much. I have suspicions along with others that what happened in NYC was no accident. However, that’s not the point… ughhh…” He says until he feels a sharp pain.
“You’re hurt, that gorilla hurt you badly. Here, I’ll heal you.” She says.
Linda has healed Hondo.
Condition: Fine
“Thanks… I feel better, as I was saying we have to survive and that’s what counts. You might be the only survivor here besides the chief. We can put the pieces together later. Ready to go?” He asks her.
“Yeah, let’s go.” She answers.
She follows Hondo back and when they get back to the garage, they see the door ahead of them open. They have no idea what is behind the door and Hondo raises his gun in case…
Chapter 6
With the door opening, Linda hides behind Hondo preparing for the worst.
“Who’s there?” Hondo asks.
“Hold it! I’m a human.” The man yells out as he hears the voice.
The man comes through and turns out to be an officer who is still alive.
“Another survivor, boy, am I glad to see you.” Hondo says relieved.
“Same here, I been looking for survivors myself. Who’s that behind you?” He asks.
“My name is Linda and what is yours?” Linda asks.
“Officer Harrison.” Harrison answers.
“I’m Hondo and I’m a private investigator. I came to see someone, but ended up finding myself in the middle of this outbreak.” Hondo says.
“Doesn’t matter how you got here, now we gotta get out of here in one piece.” Harrison responds.
“I know how we can power up the radio, but I gotta go and power the generator. Do you know where I can find some diesel?” He asks Harrison.
“It’s in the janitor’s room. You’ll need some of this to get the furnace up.”
Harrison hands Hondo some Lighter Fluid. Used to fill the Lighter.
“Thanks.” Hondo says.
“You’ll need a lighter though…” Hondo cuts off Harrison before Harrison can finish.
“I got one, thanks.” Hondo says.
“Listen, I’ll have Linda stay with you Harrison while I go up to get the radio going and see if I can get any help.” Hondo continues.
“Sounds good Hondo, be careful out there. One more thing, the Radio is located in the first floor in the room close to the elevator.”
Hondo heads back to the cells and sees a couple of zombies pop out of their cells. He shoots them both rather easily and looks in the cells only to see they’re empty.
He sees the janitor’s room close by and heads towards the furnace.
Hondo COMBINES the Lighter Fluid with the Lighter to fill the Lighter.
He USES the Lighter on the Furnace to light it.
After he lights the furnace, the door to the janitor’s room unlocks and he enters. When he enters, he sees a couple of pickups.
Picked up a Green Herbal Mix.
Picked up a Canister of Diesel. Feels a bit empty, I won’t have much time to operate the radio.
After getting the canister of diesel, he heads to the stairway and makes his way up to the first floor. Once he gets back to the first floor, he remembers the gorillas in the lobby. For the most part they’re distracted, so he decides to take a stealthy approach to get to the shaft. He realizes that he can ill afford to get into a confrontation while he’s holding a canister of diesel.
Hondo gets behind the pillars and watches the gorilla’s walk back and forth. Once the creatures have their backs turned, he runs to the next pillar to hide. However, one of the gorillas might have spotted him and begins to walk towards his direction.
Feeling the desperation in the situation, he runs to the next pillar to get away from the gorilla. When Hondo gets to the other pillar, he’s able to avoid being sighted by the creatures. He lays the canister down and pulls out his pistol just in case.
Watching the gorilla carefully, he sees that the creature has calmed down and it heads back to the main lobby area. Seeing the opening, he holsters his pistol and runs as fast as he can with the canister. He reaches the shaft that is blocking his way.
Hondo USES the Wrench on the nut.
He uses the wrench to turn the nut and the shaft begins to lift up. After a few turns with the wrench, he’s able to lift the shaft up. Once the shaft is lifted, he sees a couple of zombies behind the shaft. Dropping the canister, he pulls his pistol and shoots the two zombies down without getting a scratch.
Pistol Ammo: 38
Once Hondo kills the zombies, he walks down the hall. He spots the radio room through a window where he sees the huge radio station. Also he sees the elevator is now powered.
Heading into the elevator, Hondo presses the 3rd floor and begins to head up towards the third floor. Once the elevator arrives at the third floor, he exits and sees the empty waiting area. With his gun held, he is prepared for any surprises. To his surprise though, nothing happens. Leaving the waiting area, he heads to the hallway where he is surprised by a Striker. The raccoon bites him on his leg and he begins to feel a bit dizzy.
Condition: Poison
Despite being bitten, he takes his shotgun out and blasts the raccoon dead. After killing the raccoon, he holds his leg and kneels down as the effects of the poison become greater. Quickly, he pulls out the antidote to heal himself.
Hondo uses the Antidote. Heals Poison Condition.
Condition: Caution (Level 1)
Once he injects the antidote, he begins to feel a bit better. Getting up though, he’s forced back onto the floor in order to vomit out the toxic fluids that were beginning to infect him.
“I wonder if I was infected with the Raven Hawk virus and I just healed myself in time.” Hondo asks himself in concern.
Before he can get to the roof, a zombie pops in an officer’s uniform pops out from the Chief’s office and grabs Hondo. He’s able to fight off the zombie and push it to the door. The zombie falls back into the Chief’s office and Hondo decides to not let the zombie get up. He lands a hard right hook onto the zombie’s head and the head becomes dislocated, not quite popping out. However, Hondo uses his size 11 boots to crush the decaying head.
Looking around the Chief’s office, he notices that Chief Mustang is no longer lying on the sofa.
“Chief Mustang where are you?” He asks but gets no response.
At that point he realizes that he might have killed the chief just in zombie form. Looking at the body though, he would be wrong as the officer was skinner than Mustang was.
A couple of theories pop into his head at that point. One would be where Mustang escaped from the office wounded once he saw the zombies invading his room. The second would have him simply dead in the station. While he doesn’t trust the chief 100%, one side of Hondo’s conscience hopes that Chief Mustang is still alive.
He doesn’t see any footprints that would belong to the chief and that doesn’t leave him much to work with. For now, he decides to not worry about the chief and stick to his main mission. Approaching the roof, he spots the generator and walks towards it.
Hondo looks at the generator carefully and before he touches anything, he finds the manual still in excellent shape in the protective plastic box.
“Well at least it’s not raining…” He says in his head.
Opening the manual, he begins to read…
Roof Generator Manual
