The Beginning, page 21
part #0.50 of Off Screen Series
Addison allowed herself the pleasure of Emma’s persistent licking and sucking for a few moments. Emma was moaning as much as Addison, and it was beginning to shake Addison’s resolve. She pulled back and kissed Emma without warning. Addison traced the edges of Emma’s lips with her tongue and then continued a downward trail, stopping to bathe each of Emma’s taut nipples.
Emma was delirious with the sensations that Addison was producing in her body. Addison’s tongue rolled over her belly button and Emma sighed in relief when she felt Addison lift her skirt and then pull it off completely. Addison’s hands ran up and down the length of Emma’s legs, and Emma felt herself tugged toward the edge of the bed. Her eyes flew open in surprise when Addison pulled her all the way to the edge and promptly dropped to her knees on the floor.
A sexual haze painted Addison’s eyes that made Emma quiver in anticipation.
Addison lifted Emma’s legs over her shoulders and traced every inch of Emma’s center with her tongue softly. Emma couldn’t help but shift closer.
Addison pulled back slightly. “Slow, Em,” Addison said before licking the small point that always drove Emma wild. Emma’s hips bucked in response and Addison obliged the request by dipping her tongue inside her lover.
“Jesus!” Emma cried with exasperation. She wasn’t certain how much more she could take.
Addison sensed that Emma’s need was beginning to overwhelm her, but she didn’t want this to end. Emma tasted like sunshine. That was the only way Addison could describe it. It was a ridiculous description. No one could taste sunshine. If it were possible, Addison was positive this is what sunshine would be like. Emma always smelled faintly of jasmine, and when that mixed with the scent of her arousal, it created a delicious nectar that Addison could never get enough of. It made her light-headed and caused colored spots to dance before her eyes, just like a person experienced when they looked into a bright summer sky. It was like sunshine. Addison felt Emma’s movement as it began to become urgent.
“Please, Addy—please,” Emma begged.
“Please, what, Emma?”
The sound of Addison’s voice produced a small quake in Emma’s body. If Addison didn’t touch her soon, Emma was going to take matters into her own hands. Part of her was curious to try, just to see if Addison would maintain control or if she would submit to Emma’s demand. “Please,” Emma repeated.
Addison licked the length of Emma’s need and stopped to flick lightly over the sensitive bud that was wet with desire. “This?” she asked. “Is this what you want?”
Addison’s question was Emma’s undoing. “Yes!”
Addison almost laughed at the desperation in Emma’s voice. It wasn’t uncommon for Emma to take control of their lovemaking. Addison trusted Emma completely. Addison taking control was a dynamic that she knew turned Emma on. She wasn’t certain that her attempt at any kind of assertiveness was believable, but Emma’s reactions increased her confidence and her enjoyment of this game. Addison placed her lips over Emma and sucked gently.
“Oh,” was the last discernable word that Addison heard escape Emma’s lips. Addison continued to suck gently, every so often licking the now swollen point beneath her tongue. Emma’s grinded against her, desperate to get Addison’s lips exactly where she needed them. Addison finally gave in and flattened her tongue, pressing it firmly in long strokes against Emma. Emma’s body immediately erupted in a violent burst of tremors.
In spite of the forceful surge of pleasure that coursed through her, Emma’s inclination was to pull back. Addison did not allow it. She tightened her grasp on Emma’s legs and pulled Emma directly to her, continuing to taste her and kiss her into a frenzy. Emma shook violently over and over again. Addison slowed her pace and kissed Emma’s center gently. She kissed Emma’s thighs and stomach, and felt Emma direct her onto the bed.
Addison expected Emma to snuggle up beside her. She was surprised when Emma’s hands dropped to Addison’s sweat pants.
“Off. Now,” Emma ordered.
Addison immediately complied. It seemed that Emma’s release produced a different kind of urgency. Emma kissed Addison and then whispered in her ear. “Payback is a bitch,” she said.
Addison accepted the statement as a welcome promise.
Emma licked Addison’s lips then kissed her gently. She laid back down and lifted an eyebrow at her lover.
“What?” Addison asked curiously.
Emma reached for Addison’s hips and directed her to where she wanted her. Addison swallowed hard and complied. She placed her knees on either side of Emma’s shoulders and gasped when she felt Emma’s tongue begin to explore every inch of her.
“Hold on,” Emma instructed.
Addison understood the direction and gripped the headboard. She had no idea what Emma had in store for her, but she had a feeling that she would need assistance to survive it.
Emma’s tongue danced over Addison playfully and Addison’s hips began to rotate of their own accord. Addison had been with her share of women, but she had never had a lover like Emma. Emma could read her body. Emma moved in time with Addison’s needs and desires, and she had a unique way of allowing Addison to feel safe even amid a modicum of apprehension. That reality was far more arousing to Addison than she had ever imagined possible. Emma was playful in the bedroom, and she always focused on Addison’s pleasure, even when Addison was trying to please Emma. It made for a delicious love affair.
Addison gripped the headboard tightly when she felt both of Emma’s hands rise and caress her breasts. Emma’s tongue continued to swirl around her center while her fingers finally began to lightly pinch Addison’s nipples. Addison moved in time with Emma’s tongue. She could hear Emma moaning beneath her
“God. Oh ,my God—don’t stop, Em.”
Emma had no intention of stopping. She licked gently, forceful enough to make Addison writhe in pleasure, but nowhere near enough to allow Addison release. She intended to deliver deliberate torture. She could feel her center beginning to throb again.
Addison felt Emma shift beneath her. There was no doubt in Addison’s mind that Emma’s desire was beginning to climb again. Addison was completely lost in the seductive movements of her lover. She could still taste Emma on her lips and it drove her wild. She would not have believed her boldness if she had not heard the words herself.
“Touch yourself, Em,” Addison implored her lover. She heard Emma gasp at the suggestion. She imagined it was partly from shock and partly from arousal. “I want you to,” Addison said. “Touch yourself while you make love to me.”
Emma’s heart thundered so wildly she was certain that she would pass out. She wanted to comply desperately, but something held her back. She continued bathing Addison in kisses and playing with Addison’s nipples until she felt Addison remove her right hand from the breast it was fondling.
“Touch yourself,” Addison breathed. Addison could feel Emma’s heartbeat against her leg. She wanted this. She needed Emma to understand that. Just the thought of Emma touching herself was making Addison wet. “Please, Em. I want you to. I want to feel you touching yourself at the same time.”
“Uh,” Emma groaned as she finally allowed her hand to stroke her wetness. Instantly, she felt Addison’s arousal increase and picked up the pace of her licking. She struggled to concentrate on her need and Addison’s at the same time, and the pace of her hand slowed.
Addison sensed the shift. She pressed herself lower and urged Emma on. “Come on, Em. Don’t stop touching yourself,” she begged.
Emma groaned in frustration and resumed circling her clit with her finger.
Addison detected the first onset of tremors from Emma and it started a chain reaction in her body. She was enraptured by Emma’s suckling, She could hear Emma’s rapid breathing. She could feel Emma beginning to quake beneath her, and she was lost in imagining how soft it must have felt to Emma’s fingers, gliding over her lover’s arousal repeatedly. The image in her mind brought her over the edge with Emma in a chorus of expletives and declarations that neither could gain control of. When the firestorm subsided, Addison moved beside Emma and pulled Emma into her arms. “You are amazing, Em.”
Emma giggled as she traced small patterns on Addison’s skin with her fingers. “Addy, where did that come from?” she asked.
Addison shrugged and kissed Emma’s head. “I don’t know. I want to give you everything,” she said honestly. She wished she had the courage to tell Emma just how much more she would like to share. Emma nodded against her and Addison thought she felt a few tears on her skin. “Is that a bad thing?” Addison asked.
“No,” Emma chuckled. “It’s a wonderful thing.” She curled into Addison, enjoying the tenderness of their embrace. I just wonder what everything means to you.
“Get some sleep, Em.”
“Addy? Don’t let go, okay?”
Addison was puzzled by what she was sure was a hint of insecurity in Emma’s request. “Never going to happen, Em.”
I hope not.
Chapter Fourteen
Emma sat at her parents’ kitchen table and toyed with the breakfast on her plate. Addison had left early that morning to join her father on an excursion to the Eisenhower Presidential Library. Emma’s father was a bit of a history nut, and Addison said it would be good research for future projects. Emma had laughed. She knew that Addison loved museums and had her own penchant for history, but she suspected that Addison was ready to get away from the homestead for a few hours. They had spent two and a half days close to home. As much as Emma adored her family, even she was beginning to go a bit stir crazy.
Things with Addison had improved once they were able to step away from work. They spent long hours cuddling and talking, but Emma sensed a nervousness in Addison, and she wasn’t certain what drove it. Emma was still mulling over the conversation she heard between Addison and Don Bellson. She’d replayed it over and over, hoping to understand what Addison meant. Sitting in the quiet of her childhood home, the words began to roll through her mind yet again:
“What exactly,” Don Bellson fired back, “is your issue with marriage, Blake?"
“I don’t have an issue with marriage, Don. I have a problem with marriages made for the wrong reasons. It would never happen. I should know.”
“Oh? There are all kinds of marriages. I should know,” he said.
“Not for me,” Addison said bluntly.
“Okay, Emmie, out with it,” Sherry Bronson said.
Emma looked up in bewilderment.
“Nice try. I gave birth to you. What’s wrong? Issues with the show?”
Emma shook her head.
“Issues with Addison?”
“No issues, Mom.”
“Okay, so, no issues. That would explain the shredded napkin on my table, and the lump of what was once breakfast in the middle of your plate,” Sherry said.
Emma sighed. “It’s stupid.”
“Well, whether or not it is stupid, it is bothering you. So, let’s hear it,” her mother said.
“I don’t think Addison wants to get married.”
Sherry was completely puzzled. “Married? You mean married in general or married to you?”
“Well, I certainly don’t want her married to someone else!” Emma threw her hands in the air.
Sherry snickered. “Did she tell you that?”
“Not exactly.”
“Emma? If you two are talking about marriage then
“We aren’t.”
“You lost me,” Sherry confessed. “Is that what you want, Emmie, to marry Addison?”
“I want a life with Addy.”
“You already have a life with her unless I am mistaken,” her mother said.
Emma sighed. “Do you think it’s a bad idea?”
“I didn’t say that,” Sherry said. “Why marriage?”
“Because I love her.”
Sherry smiled. “And?”
“And? I don’t know! I want to be with Addy. I know, I know—I already am. I mean for the whole future. I still want all the same things, Mom. I just want them with Addison.”
“She doesn’t want those things?”
“I don’t know. I thought so. We’ve never really talked about it. I mean, we’ve talked about it. We just never talk about us doing it together—directly.”
Sherry laughed. “What does Addison think about the whole concept?”
“Addy?” Emma’s face lit up. “You know her. She’s a hopeless romantic and a complete sap. She’s always wanted a family. That much I do know.”
Sherry nodded. “And, you?”
“I told you, I still want all the same things that I always have.”
“So, what is the problem?” Sherry asked.
“I know what she wants, I just don’t know if she wants it all with me,” Emma said sadly.
“I guess maybe you should ask her.”
“To get married?” Emma panicked.
“For someone who is so gung-ho a minute ago you sure look like a deer caught in the headlights.” Sherry laughed. “How she feels, Emma. Ask Addison how she feels.”
“What if—”
“Emmie, I will tell you something—lesson one of surviving marriage is communication,” her mother said.
Emma groaned.
“And, if you really are in it for that long haul, trust me when I tell you this—there will be times you will be happy just to survive together.”
“You make it sound so enticing.” Emma rolled her eyes
“A wedding is fun for a few hours. Marriage is work for the rest of your life. It means ups and downs. Jobs, family, children—that only adds to the mix,” her mother advised.
Emma sighed.
“I didn’t say it wasn’t worth it. I’m just telling you the truth. Sometimes you grow together and sometimes you grow apart. It takes a lot of patience, a lot of trust, and a ridiculous amount of determination to make a marriage work.”
“I know,” Emma said.
“Mm. And, you still think you want to do that someday with Addison?”
Emma nodded with a cockeyed smile.
“Then tell her how you feel and find out what she thinks.”
“I know, I should. It’s just—I overheard her talking to Don at work and now, I don’t know.”
“Lesson two—learn it now. Don’t let anyone else in the middle. Go to the source.”
Emma sighed again.
“Emmie, Addison loves you.”
“I know that.”
“So, trust that.”
“I do.”
“Well, if you trust that, I don’t know what you are so afraid of. Maybe you need to think about that a bit. Maybe it isn’t Addison with the doubts.”
“What does that mean?” Emma snapped.
“I think you know. Like it or not, you do not have an ordinary life—not in the way most of us do. You have other things to consider. We both know that. So, maybe you are afraid of what you want—that it isn’t really possible.”
“That’s not it,” Emma protested.
Sherry smiled. “Well, only you know that, sweetheart.”
“Mom?”
“Hum?”
“If she doesn’t—”
“Emma, you will have to confront this at some point. That’s not a question, and whatever happens, you will have decisions to make. That’s life,” Sherry said flatly. “Now, eat that concoction you’ve created and then you and I will go shopping for a few hours. It’ll get your mind on something less constructive.” Sherry winked at her daughter.
Emma nodded. “Thanks, Mom.”
Why do I have this sinking feeling my thanks is going to be an expensive wedding? Sherry chuckled as she watched Emma continue to play with her food.
“What’s so funny?” Emma asked.
“Nothing,” Sherry said. She gestured to the plate in front of her daughter. “I was wondering if I should get you a bib and the high chair.”
“Cute,” Emma replied.
“Not so much.” Sherry laughed.
Emma threw a piece of toast at her mother.
“Don’t play with your food, Emma Louise.”

“How’s life in Hollywood?” Tom Bronson asked.
“Too fast some days,” Addison said. She liked Emma’s father. He had accepted her relationship with his daughter much more readily than either Addison or Emma had imagined possible. Tom Bronson was an honest, down-to-earth man. Addison admired him. His family was his priority and he was not shy about making that known. He was also surprisingly demonstrative given his upbringing. Emma had explained that her father’s outward affection something of a new evolution. It meant the world to Emma. Anything that made Emma happy delighted Addison. She was pleased when Tom suggested that they escape for a few hours together. Addison would have agreed to watch corn grow just to get out of the house. There was also something she wanted to discuss with Emma’s father. “Tom? Can I ask you something?”
“Sure.”
“How did you know that you wanted to marry Sherry?” she asked curiously.
Tom Bronson smiled behind the wheel of his truck. Addison was as transparent as a piece of glass. He suspected that Addison had something on her mind. He decided to play along. “I don’t know, seemed like the right thing at the time.”
Addison frowned. “Did you ever wish you hadn’t?”
“Hadn’t what? Gotten married or gotten married to Sherry?” he bantered.
Addison chuckled. “Either.”
“Yep. All the time,” he admitted. “For about five minutes until I come to my senses again. Ah, maybe even for a day once in a while.” He laughed.
“Really?”
“Addison, marriage is like a long road trip. Know what I mean?” he asked.
Addison shook her head.
Tom laughed. “Every once in a while, you feel the urge to stretch your legs. The scenery starts to look the same. The car gets stuffy and cramped, and you just need a little air.”
