"Oh my goodness! I can't believe it! I'm so hyped! Come over! I'll introduce you two!", I could tell she was jumping in her head.
I'm so glad that Cassie is here to help me out...and protect her mate from my wrath. I quickly stand up and walk towards them. My mate's head turns towards me and I give her another smile. Her cheeks again turn red. Watching the effect I have on her made my heart swell. I stand right next to her, my soft gaze fixated on her. She quickly lowers her head. I could hear her little heart beating in her chest. Her fragrance fills my nostrils...Unshifted Wolf. I can tell she hasn't shifted yet.
Late shifter..? But it doesn't matter to me. She is perfect in every way. If Mate bond sounds like a fairy tale..then yes, I am now a part of it and nothing else could make me happier than this.
"Shawn, meet my brother.", my sister introduces me and her mate. I look at him and he offers his hand to me. I shake it firmly.
"Nice to meet you, buddy.", he smiles.
"Pleasure is all mine", I smile back before mind-linking Cassie, "Your mate is quite good-looking."
"I know, right?", I hear her giggle in my head.
"Now would you introduce me to her?", I chuckle.
"Oh, sorry!", she says in my head before introducing us, "And Kaden, this is Olivia, Shawn's sister."
Olivia? Such a beautiful name. "Hello", I offer her my hand.
"H-Hillo... I mean, Hello", I notice her cheek turn red again as she fumbles with her words. Her voice is like a soft song playing in the air. She looks at my hand but doesn't reach out to take it immediately.
"Is our mate uncomfortable with our presence?", my wolf lightly whimpers in my head. "But that shouldn't be! She's our mate! She should be feeling the pull. How come she isn't responding to our callings?"
She slowly raises her hand to meet mine when a voice stops her. "Livia!", a dirty blonde male walks into the class with a smile on his face. She turns to see him. I eye him as well. The boy looks her age.
"Who is this person and how does he know our mate?", Kai, my wolf, slowly growls.
"Josh!", Olivia almost gasps.
Josh? I stare in disbelief as he quickly strides over and pulls her into his embrace. I feel my blood boil at the sight. How Dare he touch my mate?! I turn my gaze to my sister but she seems unaffected by this. Is this normal? I turn back to my mate and notice her body tensing up.
"Josh, you can let go now..", she whispers but his grip lightly tightens around her as his face nuzzles her shoulder blade.
"Oh c'mon! We are meeting after a long time! Let me hold you a bit longer.", he complains.
A low growl escapes my lips as my canines slightly elongate. "You heard her! Let go of her!", I commanded.
'Josh' quickly lets go of my mate and looks at me in confusion. My wolf growled and snarled in my head, asking me to tear his head off. The guy wraps an arm around her shoulders, "And you are?" he asks me.
"Oh Josh, meet my brother, Kaden.", Cassie introduces in quite a troubled tone. Josh eyes me from head to toe. I really want to gouge his eyes out! I'm going to kill him if he doesn't step away from my mate! "And Kaden, this is Joshua...He is...", she clears her throat before continuing, "He's Olivia's boyfriend.."
My eyes widen before quickly looking at Olivia. I look at her helplessly, hoping she would make some sense of it...but she stays quiet. I could see the sorrow in her eyes. I instantly mind-link Cassie, "This isn't possible! She's MY Mate!"
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Kaden..", her broken voice rings in my head. "I should have told you before... She hasn't shifted yet...and knows nothing about our kind... She...She doesn't know that you...are her mate."
A sharp pain stings my heart. My mate knows nothing about us... Not me...nor my wolf. She doesn't know I'm her soulmate... That I belong to her and she belongs to me. I avert my eyes and clear my throat, "Well... I- I better head back to my seat."
"Yeah, it would definitely be better.", Josh's voice had that sharp tone in it but my heart ached too much to think about it. Kai whimpers and whines in my head. I turn around and head back to my seat.
Cassie mind-links me, "Kaden, please talk to me!"
"Why..?", I mind-link her back, "Why doesn't she know..?"
"Shawn kept our existence a secret. He even asked me to never tell her what we...what she is."
"So What now? Will keeping this a secret be enough to break our Mate Bond?? How can you expect her to be with that Human?!", I thunder.
"Listen, calm down. We will talk to Shawn later, We'll explain to him that you're her Mate. He would understand."
"Fine..." I answer before glancing at them. I notice Josh holding Olivia's hand and it hurt even more. She doesn't even know that she has chosen the wrong male for herself! I keep looking at them as they talk before Shawn heads out of the classroom with Cassie. I look in utter defeat as Josh quickly pulls Olivia for another hug and kisses her head. Once he leaves, my mate turns to find a vacant seat. The only one available was in a corner.
"It's way too far from us!", my wolf complains.
"I am not letting her sit there.", I assure him before quickly tapping a pack member.
"Yes, Alpha?", he whispered.
"I have a task for you"
"Anything"
"You see that girl?", I point at my innocent love. "I want her sitting next to me."
"Sure, Alpha." He quickly gets up and approaches her, "Hey, if you don't mind, will you switch seats with me?", he nervously smiles.
"Sure", Olivia watches as he sits down. She turns around and finds the seat next to me. I quickly avert my gaze before she could notice me looking at her. I patiently wait for her to sit next to me while I pretend to look away. The fragrance of lavender hits me and a soft smile spreads on my face. Olivia...
I slightly turn my head and find her sitting next to me. Oh, Olivia, you might not know about the mate bond but I still want to tell you what a powerful effect you have on me... I was about to start a conversation with her when the professor walks in and stands next to his desk. "Morning class! Please get seated!" He starts writing stuff on the board.
She was listening to him when I whisper to her, "Hey... Olivia?"
"Yes?", she slightly glances at me.
"Can I borrow a pen?", I whispered.
"Sure!", she offers me a pen. I reach out to take it when my fingers brush against hers. Sparks run down my hand.
Mate! Kai gets restless. "Thank you", I smile.
"You're...welcome", she blushes. I could tell she felt it too. I start writing down the notes but I could feel her gaze on me. I could look back at her but that would only catch her off guard and make her uncomfortable so I decided to act natural.
She doesn't know about werewolves and the mate bond, She surely doesn't understand why she feels attracted to me just like I feel attracted to her. I have to be careful around her. Any sudden move and I can scare her away. She is almost like a human. My wolf lightly whimpers as he too could tell her wolf hasn't woken up yet. He wanted her wolf to talk to him.
Time flew by and before I knew it, the bell rang and the students start to leave the classroom. I quickly glance at her and find her standing up to leave too. My wolf howls in panic. "Olivia!", I quickly call her.
She stops at my abrupt call and turns to me. Damn it! What am I going to say to her? Why did I stop her?
"What is it, Kaden?", she asks. My name sounds so sweet from her soft lips. "Kaden?", she asks again. I can hear her call my name all day. "Kaden..?", I almost purr at her voice. "Are you going to say something?", she raises her voice, snapping me out of my daydream.
"The pen!", my wolf shouts in my head.
"I wanted to return the pen!", I quickly answer.
"Oh, yeah..", she says. I hand it back to her while brushing my fingers against her hand on purpose. The tingling sensation flows through my hand. She quickly pulls her hand away. She Definitely felt that!
"See you later, Olivia", I smile at her but this time she was the one to get lost in her thoughts. She keeps staring at her hand and the pen. "Olivia..?" She still doesn't respond. She must be wondering why she felt those sparks. I snap my fingers in front of her face.
"Oh! Sorry I was... I mean, thank you!", she blabbered, making me chuckle.
"I should be thanking you instead!"
She blushes, "It...It's okay. See you later, Kaden." She heads out of the classroom. Love to have that effect on my Mate. But she doesn't know that I'm her fated one! She doesn't know who she is! How will I explain to her how important she is to me?
I make my way out of the class but she is nowhere to be seen. I could still smell the fragrance she left behind. "Our mate doesn't know how to hide her scent", Kai coos.
"I'll surely teach her all this when she shifts but for that, I'll have to wake her wolf first.", I replied. My wolf wags his tail when I mention her wolf. I mind-link Cassie, "Hey sis! I know how you can show your love for your amazing brother here!"
"Let me guess, you want my help to get you your mate.", she replies in my head.
"And let me guess, you are going to help me?", I smile.
"Help you in getting your mate? Of Course, I Will! I'm so Happy for you!!", she cheers in my head.
"Then tell me what to do!"
Chapter 4
Unacceptable Feelings
Kaden's POV
Okay, this is great! Cassie gave the perfect plan. She will properly introduce me to Shawn who is responsible for my mate not knowing about us later in the cafeteria. Then we can sort out how to get my sweet mate away from that Human Junk!
Right now, I'm just standing in the corridor for no reason at all. Well, actually Cassie had asked me to wait here for her...so technically I do have a reason...but that doesn't change the fact that I'm looking like a complete Idiot who's standing in the corridor! I know that most of the staff and the students know me as Alpha of Blue Moon pack and wouldn't dare to insult me...but still!
"Hey, Kaden!", I hear Cassie call me out from down the corridor. I look at her as she makes her way to me through the students who are rushing to their classes. What took her so long? I narrow my eyes at her as she smiles and waves at me.
I cross my arms, ready to give her a piece of my mind, "Cassie, you BETTER have a reason fo--" I go quiet as I see who has accompanied my annoying sister. Her scent hits my nose and a purr leaves my throat. Mate! "O..Olivia?", I lightly gasp.
"What happened, brother?", Cassie raises an eyebrow, having a teasing smile on her face. "I never heard you stammer before."
I was too focused on glaring at my sister that I didn't notice the little blonde. I notice how Olivia lightly lowers her head before saying, "Forgive me, Cassie told me that you don't like waiting...but my locker got stuck... I didn't mean to keep you waiting."
"Oh! Umm...No! It's fine... umm... I didn't have to wait that long.", I blabber before clearing my throat to stop myself from continuing to make a fool out of myself. Damn it! Great, just great! She saw me getting mad! I didn't want that to be one of my early impressions on her. "It's fine", I start again with a calmer tone this time, "I was actually feeling a bit lost here. I didn't know where I was supposed to go and getting late for the next class was not on my 'Things to do on the First Day at College' list." I slowly scratch the back of my head, "I hope you can understand..?"
"Oh, of course, I understand! I didn't mean to make you feel helpless. I understand that you might be feeling quite scared, being in a new place.", my mate says, making me chuckle in my head. My sweet mate, why would I ever be scared? I'm an alpha! This college is under my pack's protection.
"It's alright. I'm fine.", I assure her.
"I almost forgot!", Cassie suddenly chimes in. "I'm supposed to meet Shawn before I get to my next class! I'll go look for him!" she quickly winks at me. Oh no! She's planning on leaving me alone with my mate! Not that I don't want to be alone with her... I just don't want her to feel uncomfortable in my presence. It shouldn't happen, for she is my other half but I am an alpha after all. My aura can be intimidating and she is an inexperienced little wolf. She also doesn't understand mate bond and might find it too strong and uncomfortable!
I mind-link my sister before she escapes, "What are you doing??"
"Giving you some 'Alone time' with your Mate! You're welcome!", she mind-links back.
"But I don't want that!", I shout back. Only when the blonde lightly jumps, do I realize that I had spoken out loud. "I...I mean.", I turn to Olivia before glancing back at my sister who made me feel embarrassed in front of my mate twice already, "I don't want you to go...because I don't know where my next class is."
Cassie quickly smiles again at my poor save. She was enjoying seeing me helpless and vulnerable in the presence of my fated one. "Don't worry. Olivia will help you find your class. Won't you, Livia?" She says before running down the corridor and disappearing around the corner. I steal a glance at Olivia who didn't even get a chance to register what all happened. I can't blame her, I too am quite clueless.
"It's okay... I'll take you to your next class.", her cheeks were now even redder. I could tell that being in my presence all by herself was affecting her more.
"Are you sure you're okay with helping me out..?", I ask her.
"Yeah...It's fine... After all, you are Cassie's brother...", she answers, making my heart sink down. Is that the only reason, love..? I choose to stay quiet before handing her my schedule. She inspects it before smiling, "Okay, so your class is right around the corner. I'll take you there."
She leads the way and I follow her to my next class. My wolf was wagging his tail all the way. As soon as we reach, I expect her to come and sit next to me but she stands at the door frame. I look at her, "So, you're coming in or what?"
She lightly giggles. Why is she so cute? "No, I never said this is my class.", she answers.
"Wait, so you just came all the way here to drop me off?", I inquire in disbelief."
"It's okay. I can still make it to my class in time.", she softly smiles. If she knew about our bond right now, I would have kissed her right here but I control myself.
"That's really sweet of you.", I whisper as my face lightly turns red.
"Oh..it's nothing..", she blushes as well.
"Can I ask you for a favor?"
"What is it?", she looks up at me with those innocent blue eyes.
"Can you come to help me find my next class after this one gets over?", I ask, hoping for more time with her.
"Sure! You just wait for me outside the classroom. I'll come to help you out."
"Thank you. I guess you better hurry up. Don't want you to get late.", I smile.
"Right, I'll see you later.", she turns and heads for her own class.
Olivia's POV
I don't know why...but my heart always beats so loud when I'm around him... I shake my head to remove such thoughts but the more I try, the more they flood my mind. His presence, his aura, it's intoxicating. His smile makes me lose control...
"That's so shameless!", I scold myself as I make my way to my class. It's actually all the way to the other corridor. Then why did I accompany him to his class..? I could have also just pointed the way out for him... I also now promised him to help find his next class.
I barely make it to my class before the teacher enters. Taking my seat, I open my book on the desk and take my pen to underline the points.

My attention goes to the object in my hand...more like to Whom I gave it. I subconsciously rub my hand. I clearly remember feeling weird sparks run through my hand when our skins touched. Is it my brain making too much out of it..? Josh and I, too, have held hands before but I never felt like this befo--
I force myself to stop again. Josh! I am in a relationship with him! How disgraceful to compare him to someone else. I try to focus on what the teacher was explaining but it felt like it was all going over my head. No, it wasn't complicated and I'm fairly good at studies but...this time my brain was occupied by someone else.
The bell rings, bringing me out of my daydream. With an embarrassed blush, I stand up before making my way out of the class. "Kaden must be waiting for me...", I murmur before heading to his class. As soon as I reach it, a sharp pain stings my heart at the sight. Kaden was standing with a girl in his arms. She almost matches his height while her dirty-blonde bangs covered her forehead. Her arms were wrapped around his neck while their foreheads were joined together.
My hand instinctively goes to my locket as I lightly step back. Why with Him? Another pang of jealousy hits me. Wait...jealousy? Why? He is not mine to claim. Somehow that thought brings tears to my eyes. Stop it, Livia! These feelings are unacceptable!
Kaden's POV
"The entire class was boring", my wolf complains in my head. "Why are we attending them again?"
"Hey, can't complain about them now!", I hush Kai, "This torturous place has brought us close to our mate" My wolf quietly gives in, also happy about finding our one and only. I look around, waiting for Olivia.
"Kaden..? Is that really you?", I hear a familiar voice I didn't think of hearing in a very long time. I turn around to find Sarah. The dirty-blonde looks at me with her golden-yellow orbs and a big smile as she realizes it indeed is me.
"Sarah! It's been a long time!", I smile big. She is the daughter of the former Alpha of Silver Water pack. Our packs have been close for centuries. I notice how her freckles are gone which looked cute on her pale white skin.
"I can't believe you're Actually here!", her familiar scent fills my nostrils as she lunges at me, wrapping her arms around my neck like old times. We have known each other since we were 6 and 5 years old. "I'm so glad to see you!"
"What are you doing here? I didn't know you studied here!", I hug her back.
"Well, this is the best college for our kind! And it was opened by one of the previous Alphas from your pack which ensures our safety, so of course, I had to join it! But I still wonder why I never bumped into you before."
"Umm... I kinda just joined?", I blush in embarrassment.
She shakes her head, "The Alpha of Blue Moon pack took so long to join the college opened by his Own pack! Unbelievable!"
