“Your son isn’t going to have anything to eat.”

I came up for air. “Daddy needs nourishment too.” I lifted her hips and pulled her yoga pants off.

  “What does it taste like?”

I pressed my lips together and savored the taste. “Like melon.”

  “Yeah?”

I got her pants and underwear off. “Yeah.” Then I pressed my mouth to the area between her legs.

Skye rolled her head back and moaned loudly. Then she said my name.

  Over and over.

  Chapter Five

  Slade

  I couldn’t believe Cayson got a tattoo.

And it was a sick tattoo.

Good thing he didn’t get ink a long time ago. If he had, he would have been a real opponent when it came to the ladies. Ink was my thing and it made me stand out.

I headed home after work and knew I needed to tell Trinity what happened with Don Murray. It was ruining my sex life, and I knew it was ruining hers too. At least I was finishing. She was left hanging twice in a row.

  I’m such a loser.

I walked inside and expected to see Trinity making dinner in the kitchen, but she was nowhere in sight. Even the TV wasn’t on. I spotted her purse on the table near the door so she had to be there.

I was just about to call out her name when I heard a moan.

I stopped in my tracks and listened for it again. Perhaps my mind was playing tricks on me.

But then I heard it again.

It was coming from the bedroom.

I told Trinity I was going to the store after seeing Cayson, but then I realized I left the grocery list at the house. She wasn’t expecting me, and that made me jump to the wrong conclusion.

She was sleeping with someone else.

But that couldn’t be right. It just wasn’t possible.

I slowly headed down the hall to the bedroom, making sure my feet didn’t make any noise against the hardwood floor. I rounded the corner and stopped in front of our bedroom. The door was slightly cracked, and I saw Trinity on the bed.

She was naked on top of the sheets, and she was using a vibrator on herself.

  Whoa.

I didn’t even know she had a vibrator.

Her head rolled back and she moaned louder, like she was on the brink of an orgasm.

Seeing her touch herself like that was the biggest turn-on in my life. I liked watching her please herself. I’d bet everything I owned she was thinking about me. But I didn’t want her to come for some electric sex toy.

I wanted her to come for me.

I stepped inside and approached the bed.

When she realized she wasn’t alone, she immediately jumped up. Fear and embarrassment were written all over her face for getting caught. She set the vibrator aside, like that would make her look less guilty.

I gripped her hips and pulled her to the edge of the bed. “That was hot.”

The guilt left her face. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” I turned off the vibrator and tossed it aside. “But I want to make you come.” I kneeled at the edge of the bed, her legs spread to me.

She laid her head back on the bed and moaned in anticipation.

I pressed my lips to the area and moved my tongue the way she liked. I was a master at understanding my wife’s preferences. I knew how to make her toes curl. I knew how to make her lose her voice from screaming so hard.

  I knew everything.

Within a minute she was gripping the sheets with her nails and panting hard. She kept moaning, and eventually she started whispering my name.

I gave her that final push and sent her over the edge, making her pelvis contract and jerk up slightly. Her yells became louder, and she almost ripped the sheets off the bed.

I kept kissing her until the orgasm started to wear off. She slowly glided back down to earth, and her body became less tense with every passing second. When she was completely finished I moved up her body and met her gaze.

When she made eye contact with me, the guilt returned. “I never do that. I just—”

“You don’t need to explain anything.” I gave her a slow kiss on the lips. “I know I haven’t been there for you this week.”

Her hands glided up my back. “I was just frustrated…”

“I know.” I kissed her forehead. “I dropped the ball. It’s my fault.”

“That’s not true, Slade. It happens to every guy. Don’t beat yourself up over it.”

Too late. “There’s something we need to talk about. I’ve been putting it off for a while now. It’s been stressing me out. I think that’s why my performance in the bedroom has been so terrible.”

Her remaining arousal disappeared. “Is everything okay? Are you okay?” A note of panic was in her voice.

“It’s nothing bad,” I said. “Don’t worry about that. It’s just…you’ll understand what I mean when I explain it.”

She sat up, her breasts still in my face. “I’m listening.”

I picked her up then carried her to the top of the bed. I stripped off my clothes before I lay down beside her. We usually had serious talks in the bathtub, but the bedroom was the next best thing. I held her close to me, our faces pressed together. “At one of my shows, a producer came backstage and offered me his card. He said I had a knack for music and he was interested in representing me.”

Trinity listened without reacting. It took her nearly thirty seconds to understand what I said. And when she did get it, she sat up quickly. “A producer offered to sign you?” There was no anger in her voice like I thought there might be. Actually, she sounded downright excited.

“He didn’t offer to sign me,” I said. “He just wanted to meet. His name is Don Murray and he’s with Capital Records.”

“Oh my god.” She covered her mouth and gasped. “Slade, that’s amazing.”

“It is?” I sat up and faced her.

“Of course it is.” She was practically screaming. “This is your dream. You’ve wanted this since we were five.”

She wasn’t thinking about all the repercussions. All she saw was glory and fame, not the sacrifice or heartache. “Yeah, it’s been my dream. But things are different now.”

“What are you talking about?” She searched my gaze. “Why aren’t you more thrilled about this? You should be doing cartwheels right now.”

“Baby, if Don Murray does offer me something big like a record deal, how will that affect us?” I stared at her expression but it never changed. “I’ll be on the road all the time, I’ll be recording albums in LA, I’ll always be in the spotlight. It won’t be easy for us.”

“Well…I admit those things will be difficult. I love having you around all the time. But Slade, we can manage that.”

“And our baby is on the way. I’m not going to be one of those fathers that’s never there. My dad was always there, day in and day out. I want to be the same way.”

“Just because you might be gone for a few weeks here and there doesn’t make you a bad father, Slade. And I can always come with you.”

“You have your company.” How could she forget?

“I can always hire a junior CEO to oversee things while I’m away.”

Both of my eyebrows rose. “You would do that…?”

“Of course. Slade, this is what you’ve wanted your entire life. I’m not going to let you walk away from your dream.”

“But I don’t want it to ruin our relationship.”

She placed her hand over mine. “Nothing will ruin this.”

“There will be tons of women throwing themselves at me.” I didn’t need to remind her about the catastrophe at the fashion show. Two supermodels wanted me in a single night. How would that change if I were famous?

“Who cares?” she asked. “I’m the only one.”

My heart immediately tightened when she said that. That kind of faith, unflinching, meant the world to me.

“Slade, you’re focusing on all the bad things and not the good things. This is an amazing opportunity. You’re calling him.”

“I think we should think about it for a while longer…”

“Why?” she asked. “Set up a meeting and see what he has to offer.”

  “I don’t know—”

“Slade, you’re doing this. You’re so talented, and it would be a shame if you didn’t share it with the world. I know this is what you want. If you let this opportunity pass you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. I want you to have the best in life.”

“I made a commitment to you, baby. I don’t want to mess with that.”

“Why can’t you be my husband and a rock star?” she asked. “Tons of musicians do it on a daily basis.”

“And most of them get divorced,” I snapped. “Even the ones you think will last forever fall apart. The traveling rips them apart, the lack of privacy, and everything else. My life is perfect right now. I don’t want to mess that up.”

She sighed in understanding. “Slade, we aren’t like other people. We love each other to death and we will stay together. If things get bumpy, you can always quit.”

“After I have a taste, I don’t think I’ll be able to do that. It’ll change me.”

“It won’t change you that much,” she whispered. “I know you.” She grabbed my hand and pressed it over her heart. It beat hard against my palm. “I know the two of us will always come first. It doesn’t matter how many fans you have, how many records you make, or how many shows you perform. If we need you, you’ll be there.”

I felt the warmth of her skin. Her unwavering faith in me stilled the sadness in my heart. She believed in me in a way she never had before. After we got married, our union was solidified in an unbreakable way. We were a team, and there was nothing more important than that.

“I truly believe you’re meant for bigger things, Slade. I know you’re happy with the shop and our marriage, but I know you’re the type of man who needs more. You only have one life, Slade. Shoot for the stars.”

I never expected this kind of support from her. I knew she would stand by me no matter what, but this was a whole new level. “You are the stars, Trinity.”

A slow smile formed on her lips. “Then shoot higher.” She brought my hand to her lips and kissed my knuckles. Her lips were soft against my skin, and seeing her embrace me with affection was heartwarming and arousing at the same time. “Promise me you’ll call him.” She gave me a pleading look, the kind I couldn’t say no to.

Maybe this could work. Maybe I could have two of the greatest things at the same time. Don Murray hadn’t offered me anything, so maybe he never would. It didn’t hurt to find out. “Okay.”

She kissed my knuckles again. “Thank you.”

I wasn’t sure why I’d been dreading that conversation for so long. It went over much smoother than I anticipated, and I felt closer to her after I told her the truth. Now I was in a much better mood. A weight had been lifted off my chest. I suspected I could please her without finishing too quickly since my conscious was clear.

I grabbed the vibrator from the other side of the bed and examined it. “You know, we’ve never experimented with toys.”

  “We’ve never needed any.”

I hit the button and turned it on. Immediately, it began to vibrate with prominent power.

She eyed it, still a little embarrassed. “I just bought it today. I haven’t been hiding it or anything...”

“Let’s give it a try.” I moved it between her legs and pressed it against her clitoris.

She immediately gripped the sheets and released a winded sigh. Her knees parted slightly and her head rolled back.

I’d always had straight sex. There was foreplay involved but nothing like this. Seeing the way it affected her was a huge turn-on. I rubbed the vibrator against her and watched her enjoy it even more.

  Now I was hard.

I kept circling the area, applying more force. Her hand moved to my forearm and she dug her nails into the skin. She bit her bottom lip and her eyes glazed over in a daze. Then she released a loud yell as she hit her threshold. She moaned and screamed for the duration of the entire orgasm, her nails still digging into me. She breathed hard through the pleasure, and when it started to fade she came back down to earth.

I pulled the vibrator away and examined it. “That was pretty fun.”

Sweat glistened in the valley between her breasts, and her eyes were lidded like she was exhausted from the pleasure that just rocked through her.

“Maybe we’ll keep it around.” I turned it off then set it on the nightstand. “But now my dick is going to make you come.” I positioned her underneath me then slipped inside her. There was no resistance because she was already so aroused.

Trinity clung to me and wrapped her legs around my waist. “I prefer you anyway.”

I gave her a long kiss before I started to move. Despite how turned on I was I didn’t feel the need to explode. I was in control of my feelings and desires, and feeling that confidence again was incredible. I planned on making love to her for the rest of the night to make up for my terrible performance that week.

And I knew I would succeed.

  Chapter Six

  Sean

Toby knocked before he walked into my office. “Sir?”

“Hmm?” I was staring at my phone. Scarlet just sent me a video of Cedric. He was laying on the floor with his hand clenched around plastic keys. His eyes were wide and blue just like Skye’s.

“Mr. Hamilton wants to set up a meeting.”

My eyes left the screen and moved to his face. “Mr. Hamilton?”

“Yeah. He says he has something you won’t be able to say no to.”

I knew exactly what that meant. He was the leading manufacturer for computer and software products in the United States. He was more expensive because he was domestic but his employees were treated fairly. Mike and I never had manufacturing ties outside first world countries because we knew exactly what would happen.

But I hated being stuck on his leash. “What else did he say?”

  “That was it.”

I nodded. “Thank you, Toby. Get Mike in here.”

“Of course, sir.” He stepped out and shut the door behind him.

Before Mike even walked inside I knew this conversation was going to give me a headache. Keith was such a pain in the ass. I called him Mr. Hamilton to keep him at a professional distance but that didn’t make me hate him less.

Mike walked inside. “What’s up?” He fell into the chair in front of my desk then eyed the liquor cabinet. “Is it one of those kinds of talks?”

  “Yes.”

“I thought so.” He opened the decanter and poured two glasses. He slid one of them toward me. “So, what’s the problem?”

“Keith.” That was all I needed to say.

  “I hate that motherfucker.”

  “That makes two of us.”

“Let me guess. We need something only his company can supply?”

  I nodded.

“Well, I met with him last time. It’s your turn.”

“I’m not doing it. It’s hard for me not to punch him in the face.”

“I’m not going twice in a row,” he argued.

“Then let’s send Conrad. He’ll be running this place soon anyway.”

“Hell no,” Mike snapped. “I’m not sending my son. He’s still a little lost right now.”

  “I’m not volunteering Skye.”

“Obviously.” He rolled his eyes and took another drink. “Why don’t we just do a few things internationally? We would avoid him altogether.”

  “Dad said no.”

“Well, Dad doesn’t run this joint. He hasn’t lifted a finger in over twenty years.”

“He’s passionate about this, and so are we. We aren’t making a sweatshop just for the convenience.”

“We could pay them fair wages.”

I shook my head. “We know that’s not in our control.” Things worked differently outside the U. S. and Mike and I didn’t support that whatsoever. We had our morals and we stuck to them—and not just because of my father.

He snapped his fingers. “I’ve got an idea.”

I didn’t have a lot of faith in it.

“Let’s start our own company. We can create it specifically for these types of parts. Then we wouldn’t need to deal with Keith at all. We could even implement a research team.”

I rubbed my temple. “Mike, we’re retiring soon. I don’t have the drive to start a company from the ground up.”

  “Maybe the kids do.”

“No,” I answered. “I’ve seen Skye with Cedric. She wants to be an involved mom. I’m not sure if she’ll ever come back to the company at all.”

  “Really?”

“Which is fine. Conrad can handle it.” I lowered my hand to the desk. “And Conrad isn’t that driven either. He likes to work from nine to five then clock out.”

“You mean nine to three,” Mike jabbed.

“Like you didn’t do the same thing.”

He brought his glass to his lips. “He doesn’t need to know that.”

“My point is, we’re going to have to deal with Keith. Maybe we should just do it together.”

“Hell no.” He refilled his glass. “I went last time. Now it’s your turn.”

I leaned back into the chair and felt my body deflate. “That guy gives me a migraine that vicodin can’t even cure.”

“The meeting will only be an hour. Just suck it up and do it.”

  “I guess…”

“Think of it this way,” he said. “This will probably be the last time you meet with him.”

That was good news. But that was also bad news for Conrad.

  ***

Keith gave me the address to where we were meeting. Unfortunately, he wasn’t very traditional when it came to business meetings. He never wanted to come to PIXEL and sit in a conference room. He always preferred meetings over golf, drinks, or even clubs.

  He was a bit eccentric.

He wasn’t a self-made billionaire. He inherited his fortune from his father, who passed away from a heart attack. He was the bratty, obnoxious prick that hadn’t worked a day in his life. He didn’t understand the value of a dollar, and he treated his inferiors like slaves.
