Jake is the first belter ever to study at the TGI Orbital station to be a merchant officer. He’s quiet, hard-working, conscientious, and a good student. In other words, boring, and he’s so poor he can’t afford to buy beer. That doesn’t matter - his scholarship pays for all his schooling, room and board, and he just wants to keep his head down and graduate. When he finds out that he needs more money to graduate, he gets a new plan, and a new job. Things are looking up. But life is full of surprises. Suddenly he’s expelled, and on the run from the planetary militia, and there is a bounty on his head.
