Streams of Yesterday weaves humorous and tragic events together amidst a background of economic and social upheaval in a small Kansas farm town. An ensemble of odd characters join Will Clayton, a modern day nomad, in his misadventures as they try to resist the rising tide of corporate corruption and greed threatening to destroy the town.Will Clayton - estranged from his family and former friends – sits alone atop a rest stop picnic table on a rural highway in central Kansas. A half-eaten candy bar, a bottle of water, and the hot Kansas sun keep him company. At fifty-five years of age, the burnt out and disillusioned modern day nomad questions his roving lifestyle. Deciding a change is necessary, Will returns to a small town where he gets involved in the community’s problems and much to his surprise, starts to care about the colorful local citizens and their endangered way of life. An ensemble of odd characters join Will in his misadventures as they try to resist the rising tide of corruption and corporate greed threatening to destroy the town. Will begins to feel at home among the locals, but will they appreciate his hard work, and accept him as one of their own? In March of 2003, the U.S. Government embarks upon an undeclared and destructive war in Iraq. Four aging hippies, christened "The Dandelions", had protested the Vietnam War and now return to the streets of San Francisco to protest. As they retrace their original route, the Dandelions discover the side roads no longer exist, but that a friendship forged in the quest for peace and justice does.In May of 1969, riots break out on the campus of UC Berkley. Four young protestors, bloodied and beaten by the police and National Guardsmen, escape the bay area and travel the side roads to their homes in the nation’s heartland. Feeling as out of place in America’s militant society as weeds in a green suburban lawn, they christen their small band the Dandelions. In March of 2003, the U.S. Government embarks upon another undeclared and destructive war, this time in Iraq. The aging Dandelions return to the streets of Berkeley and San Francisco to protest this unlawful military adventure which is sure to cost the lives of thousands more young Americans. As they retrace their original route, the Dandelions discover the side roads no longer exist, but that a friendship forged in the quest for peace and justice does.
