36 Hours: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Fiction Series

36 Hours: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Fiction Series

Bobby Akart

Thriller / Science Fiction / Science

WHAT WOULD YOU DOif a voice was screaming in your head - GET READY . . . for a catastrophic event of epic proportions . . . with no idea where to start . . . or how, or when? This is a true story, it just hasn't happened yet. A new dystopian, post-apocalyptic fiction series from six-time best-selling author Bobby Akart (The Boston Brahmin series and the Prepping for Tomorrow series). The characters depicted in The Blackout Series are fictional. The events, however, are based upon fact. This is not the story of preppers with stockpiles of food, weapons, and a hidden bunker. This is the story of Colton Ryman, his stay-at-home wife, Madison, and their teenage daughter, Alex. In 36 Hours, the Ryman family and the rest of the world will be thrust into the darkness of a post-apocalyptic world. A catastrophic solar flare, an EMP--a threat from above to America's soft underbelly below--is hurtling toward our planet. The Rymans have never heard of preppers and have no concept of what prepping entails. But they're learning, while they run out of time. Their faith will be tested, their freedom will be threatened, but their family will survive. An EMP, naturally generated from our sun in the form of a solar flare, has happened before, and it will happen again, in only 36 Hours. This is a story about how our sun, the planet's source of life, can also devastate our modern world. It's a story about panic, chaos, and the final straws that shattered an already thin veneer of civility. It is a warning to us all ... never underestimate the depravity of man. What would you do when the clock strikes zero? Midnight is forever. Note: This book does not contain strong language. It is intended to entertain and inform audiences of all ages, including teen and young adults. Although some scenes depict the realistic threat our nation faces from a devastating solar flare, and the societal collapse which will result in the aftermath, it does not contain graphic scenes typical of other books in the post-apocalyptic genre. **

The Final Move Beyond Iraq: The Final Solution While the World Sleeps

Thriller / Horror / Young Adult

Click Here for Sample Chapter! The Final Move Beyond IraqBy Mike EvansIn The Final Move Beyond Iraq, Mike Evans addresses the greatest threat America has faced since the Civil War: the Islamic revolution, or Islamofascism. While the United States debates the best way to solve the situation in Iraq, the terrorists are claiming victory and planning to take their show to American soil once again.Drawing from extensive interviews with prime ministers, CIA directors, and other insiders, Evans looks at the history and ideology behind the Islamic revolution to explore its very real threat to U.S. interests —why radical Islamic terrorists will only step back when they fear us, why victory in Iraq is important to U.S. security, why the United States and Israel cannot sit idly by and let Iran achieve its desire for nuclear weapons, and why stabilization in Iraq now would sound defeat rather than victory. The Final Move Beyond Iraq is a wake-up call to mobilize millions to action. America is fighting for its life in the first war of the twenty-first century.About the AuthorMike Evans is an award-winning journalist who has served as a confidant to leaders in the Middle East for more than two decades. America is fighting for its life in the first war of the twenty-first century. The battle is for the soul of America, and ground zero is Iraq. While the United States debates, the terrorists are claiming victory and planning to take their show to American soil once again. In The Final Move Beyond Iraq, best-selling author Mike Evans gives us a wake up call, demonstrating conclusively that: ·An Islamic revolution is spreading and is on the brink of becoming America's greatest threat since the Civil War. ·Immediate withdrawal from Iraq would be disastrous and will embolden terrorists to attack America at home. ·Iran is playing a major role in the current violence. ·The U.S. must strike Iran within the next twelve months, or the next President may be presiding over a nuclear 9/11. American soldiers are risking their lives for our freedom. We must see this war through to the end--or our next battle will be much, much worse. The Devils Punchbowl pc-3

The Devils Punchbowl pc-3

Greg Iles

Mystery / Suspense / Thriller

With his gift for crafting “a keep-you engaged- to-the-very-last-page thriller” ( USA Today ) at full throttle, Greg Iles brings back the unforgettable Penn Cage in this electrifying suspense masterpiece. A new day has dawned . . . but the darkest evils live forever in the murky depths of a Southern town. Penn Cage was elected mayor of Natchez, Mississippi—the hometown he returned to after the death of his wife—on a tide of support for change. Two years into his term, casino gambling has proved a sure bet for bringing new jobs and fresh money to this fading jewel of the Old South. But deep inside the  Magnolia Queen , a fantastical repurposed steamboat, a depraved hidden world draws high-stakes players with money to burn on their unquenchable taste for blood sport and the dark vices that go with it. When an old high school friend hands him blood-chilling evidence, Penn alone must beat the odds tracking a sophisticated killer who counters his every move, placing those nearest to him—including his young daughter, his renowned physician father, and a lover from the past—in grave danger, and all at the risk of jeopardizing forever the town he loves. From Publishers Weekly Iles's third addition to the Penn Cage saga is an effective thriller that would have been even more satisfying at half its length. There is a lot of story to cover, with Cage now mayor of Natchez, Miss., battling to save his hometown, his family and his true love from the evil clutches of a pair of homicidal casino operators who are being protected by a homeland security bigwig. Dick Hill handles the large cast of characters effortlessly, adopting Southern accents that range from aristocratic (Cage and his elderly father) to redneck (assorted Natchez townsfolk). He provides the bad guys with their vocal flair, including an icy arrogance for the homeland security honcho, a soft Asian-tempered English for the daughter of an international villain and the rough Irish brogue of the two main antagonists. One of the latter pretends to be an upper-class Englishman and, in a moment of revelation, Hill does a smashing job of switching accents mid-sentence.

No Fortunate Son

Brad Taylor

Thriller / Fiction / Mystery

In the latest military thriller from the retired Delta Force Operator and New York Times bestselling author, a hostage situation places America’s most powerful political elite at the mercy of its worst enemies. When veteran operator Pike Logan and partner Jennifer Cahill receive a letter from Blaisdell Consulting—the umbrella cover company for their real employer, a top secret counterterrorist unit called the Taskforce—they expect orders for their next mission-impossible tasking. Instead, they learn that their latest actions have gotten them fired, despite having saved thousands of innocent lives. Pike’s shock and fury is redirected when their commander, Colonel Kurt Hale, asks him and Jennifer for help with a personal matter: His niece Kylie, an exchange student in England, has gone missing. Neither Pike nor Jennifer understands how critical her disappearance will become. Meanwhile, all Taskforce teams have been redirected to a developing situation. A terrorist organization has targeted military relatives of key members of the US government, including the vice president’s son. Their seizure of hostages was far-reaching and meticulously coordinated, and the full extent of the threat—and potential demands—has thrown the government into turmoil.
