Under the direction of expert assassin Master Chiun, Remo is transformed into the Destroyer and launches a series of secret plots to dissolve the underworld. The series has to start somewhere, and all-in-all, this is a fine place to begin. Sapir and Murphy manage to put all the elements in place (although they aren't yet sure of the mixture). This novel is a fine spy-thriller, and while not the Destroyer-to-come, still interesting and fun.
