About Last Night, page 13
“I, uh, I...” I bit down into his neck again. “I’m going to come.”
“On my cock or to Miami.” He chuckled.
“Both.” I said and that seemed to make him happy because he increased his pace. I could feel my ass slamming back into the door as he fucked me and I couldn’t stop my screams as I felt myself coming hard on his cock.
“Aw shit.” He groaned as he pulled out of me quickly. “I’m going to bust.” He let me down and I dropped to my knees in front of him. He looked down at me in shock and I just grinned up at him before taking him into my mouth. His cock tasted salty and sweet as I sucked him hard and he grabbed my head and thrust his cock a few times before suddenly stilling and spewing his load into my mouth. I swallowed quickly, surprised at how much I enjoyed the taste of his come. He pulled out of my mouth after a few seconds and pulled me up and into his arms, kissing me on the lips before wiping the sides of my mouth.
“That was fucking hot.” He growled as he zipped himself up and then pressed down the front of my dress. “I could live in your pussy.”
“Matteo.” I blushed at his words as he gazed at me.
“We’re going to fly to Miami tonight.”
“I don’t know if we can get a flight this late?” I said, taken aback.
“We’ll take a private plane.” He touched my lips.
“Oh?”
“Maybe we can join the mile high club.” He laughed. “But this time I’m not pulling out when it’s time to come.”
“You’ll have a condom?” I said breathlessly. For a second I thought he was saying he didn’t care and I knew I wasn’t ready to take that risk. Though what we had just done could very well result in a pregnancy as well. I ignored the feeling of panic in my brain. All it took was one wayward semen to end up with a baby. I wasn’t in any position to be having a baby right now, but I wasn’t going to worry about that now.
“I’ll have ten.” He grinned. “But we should get back to the table now.”
“Yeah.” I nodded. “I bet the waitress must be wondering what's happening.”
“I was actually thinking that your friends would be more worried.”
“My friends?”
“Pinky and reddy.” He laughed as I gazed at him in shock. “You don’t get to my position and not recognize when two people are so obviously trying to disguise themselves. They wouldn’t make the best undercover detectives.”
I licked my lips nervously. “Are you mad?”
“No.” He shrugged. “You have good friends. Though I think you guys are all a bit naive. None of you should be getting involved in this situation. Women don’t understand the dangers of the mafia.”
“What about Lucia?” I said annoyed. “Or don’t tell me, she’s FBI as well.”
Matteo studied me for a few seconds and sighed. “Lucia is complicated, Emily. Stay away from her.”
“What’s so complicated about her?”
“We need to get back to the table.” He walked to the sink and washed his hands. “Let’s go.”
“I want to know about Lucia.”
“We should deal with one thing at a time, Emily.”
“She’s not your wife or girlfriend though, is she?”
“No Emily. I’ve told you that.” He opened the door. “Let’s go.”
“So who is she to you?” I paused. “Wait, is she the boss?” I held my hand up as we walked back down the corridor. “When you both showed up at my parents house, Paco said the boss was here. I thought he was talking about you, but it wasn’t you, was it? It’s Lucia. She’s the Don?” I suddenly felt really proud of myself for figuring it out. Maybe I wasn’t as slow as I’d thought. Maybe it had just been Matteo that had been clouding my judgment.
“Some call her the Godmother.” He said quietly with a small incline of the chin.
“And others?”
“Others call her Occh’egghiaccio.” His voice sounded distant.
“What does that mean?”
“Ice eyes.” He said as we made our way back to the table.
“Oh wow. How astute.” I made a face. “I only met her the one time and I could tell that she was an ice queen.”
“She’s dedicated to the family.” He nodded. “That’s the most important thing to her.”
“Did you ever have anything with her?” I asked, my muscles tightening as I waited for his answer. Please say no, please say no.
“You want the truth or a palatable answer?” He asked me softly as we sat down. Our food was waiting on the table for us and I placed my napkin on my lap as I thought about his question. I already knew from his words that I wasn’t going to like his answer.
“The truth.” I said as my heart tightened in preparation for his answer.
“Yes, we have a history.” He nodded. “It’s complicated.”
“So you’ve slept with her.” My voice sounded high, even to my own ears.
“Yes.” He said and jealousy surged through me.
“You’ve had sex with her?” As if I really needed the clarification.
“Yes, Emily.” He almost snapped. “I’m a grown man. I’ve had sex before you.” He looked into my eyes. “I’m sure you understand that?”
“Yes.” I said and picked up my knife and fork and proceeded to ignore him. I didn’t appreciate the way he’d just spoken to me. “I don’t think that it’s professional for an undercover agent to sleep with someone he’s tracking though, is it?” I said after a few minutes.
“The first time we fucked, it was in the back alley behind a grocery store.” He snapped. “It wasn’t romantic and it wasn’t planned. She’s a beautiful woman and she’s very sexual. I didn’t say no. Maybe it wasn’t professional, but I’m still a man.”
“Wow, classy.” I shook my head. “I guess men can’t say no to sex, huh?”
“I was seventeen at the time. Impressionable.” His words were cutting. “I know you’re not going to judge me on that.”
“No.” I pursed my lips. I didn’t want to hear about his sexual exploits with Lucia anymore. I didn’t enjoy the way it made me feel to hear about them. I didn’t want to picture him with her, kissing her, touching her. It made me sick to my stomach. “So who is Danny?” I asked him wanting to change the subject. The mood had changed from one of excitement and playfulness to one of tension and I didn’t want to hear about Lucia anymore.
“He was hired by Lucia to follow you.” He sighed. “She didn’t tell me she was going to do it.” He paused. “She wanted him to go on some dates with you.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know.” He said but I had a feeling I knew. She wanted him to distract me from Matteo. “Most probably to track you.”
“Wow, what a bitch.” I was pissed off. “Why did she hire him to follow me and not my parents though?” I ran my hands through my hair. “Does she know we’ve fucked?”
“She got suspicious during the party.” He made a face. “She had a feeling we knew each other based on our conversation.”
“Well I guess she’s not a dumbass, even if she is a bitch.” I felt vindicated in some twisted way that she knew that Matteo was mine now. “I guess she knows that we fucked at the party.” I smiled. “That your cock was—.”
“You don’t want to mess with her, Emily. She wouldn’t think twice to do something bad.” He cut me off frowning. “I was stupid to have done that with you in the bathroom. That might have spurred Lucia to do something to you. She’s a loose canon. She cannot be trusted.”
“And this is a woman you fucked?” I was in disbelief. “She sounds like a psycho. But I guess you don’t care about that as long as your cock is getting sucked?”
“Emily!”
“When is the last time you slept with her?”
“I’m not answering that.”
“Why not?”
“You’re not my girlfriend, Emily. I don’t have to answer that.”
“Fuck, I guess I need to go to the clinic tomorrow to get an STD test.” I was offended by his comment. “And also fuck you. I never said I was your girlfriend.”
“I’m clean, Emily.” He grabbed my hand. His eyes bore into mine. “I wouldn’t put you in jeopardy for an STD. I get tested every three months. My last test was three weeks ago. I’m clean.” He paused and then smiled. “And I’m going to guess you’re also clean considering you hadn’t fucked anyone for years before me.” That seemed to please him from the expression on his face and I thought to myself that it was such a double standard that he could be happy I hadn’t fucked anyone for years, but he wouldn’t tell me the last time he’d fucked the queen bitch. My stomach dropped as I wondered if it had been recently. What if it had been the night before? What if it had even been this morning? I didn’t want to think about it.
“I wouldn’t sound so pleased about that.” I glared at him. “I’m going to be doing a lot more fucking from here on out.”
“With me, yes.” He smiled sweetly. “But with other people, I think not.”
“Excuse me?” I gave him my best “are you joking me?” look.
“I said the only person you will be fucking is me.”
“Whatever, Matteo. You’re not my boyfriend, remember, you can’t tell me who I can and who I can’t fuck.”
“I’m telling you right now that your pussy is mine. No other cock’s could even give you an ounce of the pleasure I give you.”
“You’re so full of yourself.”
“I know,” he laughed. “But don’t you love it when you’re full of me, as well?”
“Oh?” I gasped as I grasped what he’d just said. “You’re a pig.”
“That means something very different in the mafia world.”
“I don’t get you.” I shook my head as I started to eat. “So what are we going to do to help my parents? Are you going to prosecute them for being involved?” I needed to change the subject or I was going to start going off.
“I will do my best to make sure they are not jailed.” He said seriously. “The quieter we can keep this the better.”
“You would help my parents?”
“I like you, Emily. And your parents seemed sweet. Also, I don’t want to bust my cover.”
“Aren’t you busting your cover by being here with me?”
“If you’re asking me if I’m taking a risk by dating you, then yes.” He nodded. “But no-one tells me what to do.” He cleared his throat and he studied my face. “You’re a complication I didn’t need, but from the moment you sat down at my table the other night, I knew that you were a complication I couldn’t walk away from.”
“I feel the same way.” I sighed. “You’re a complication I don’t need.”
“Your friends are staring at us by the way.” He gave me a small smile. “They look ridiculous.”
“Don’t be mean.”
“I’m not being mean, just honest. I thought you liked that.”
“What’s my other present?” I asked, changing the subject.
“I’ll give it to you later.”
“Later?”
“On the way to the airport.”
“We’re really flying tonight?”
“Yes, we will leave from JFK.”
“I thought we were going in a private jet?”
“We will be.” He nodded. “We’ll leave after dinner.”
“But I need clothes and my passport.”
“You won’t need your passport.” He shook his head. “The area for private jets is at a different part of the airport.” He looked at his watch and checked the time. “And you can get clothes in Miami.”
“But...” My voice trailed off. “Fine.”
“You won’t be in clothes most of the time, anyway.”
“Oh?”
“You’ll be naked and sitting on my face.” He grinned. “And my cock as well.”
“Matteo.” I blushed. “We’re not going to Miami just to have sex.”
“It’s a great plus though, isn’t it?”
“I’m not going to answer that.” I shook my head. “You also didn’t tell me what your idea or plan was or whatever.”
“Let’s not think about that right now.” He licked his lips. “I want to get this situation with your parents sorted out first.”
“Okay. So tell me more about the Calbrese family? Are they really bad?”
“Depends on your definition of bad.”
“Do they kill people?” I leaned forward. “What are they messed up in? Asides from diamond smuggling?”
“There are two factions in the Calbrese family.” He seemed to be thinking and I could tell that he was being very careful in how he described the family. “Two families run it. The older sons of two brothers.” He looked thoughtful. “They are cousins and used to be the best of friends but now, they are on different wavelengths.”
“Oh?”
“Yes, the younger of the two, Luca. Well, he is harder, darker, more prone to violence. The other cousin, well he doesn’t want the family to succumb to the dark side.” He shrugged. “And as all such stories go, they are involved in a battle of wits and power. Only one of them will be able to have their way.”
“Wow.” I pressed my lips together. “Is Luca related to Lucia? They have such similar names.”
“Lucia is Luca’s older sister.” He nodded. “Good catch.”
“So is Lucia or Luca in charge then?”
“Luca is very much in charge of that side of the family.” His eyes narrowed. “He uses Lucia to do his bidding. She loves him and only him. He has always been the apple of her eye since they were kids. She would do anything for him.”
“Sounds a bit weird.” I made a face. “Are they Flowers in the Attic creepy?”
“Flowers in the Attic creepy? I don’t know what that means?” He frowned.
“Are they involved?” I paused and waited for him to get it, but when I saw that he didn’t, I continued. “Are they together sexually?”
“Sexually?” He looked shocked and then burst out laughing. “No, no, no.” He ran his hands through his hair. “They do not have that sort of relationship.” He looked thoughtful. “Luca is a wolf and cold and calculated, but he is a man of very strict principles, family is first above everything to him. Lucia is his family. She was like a second movie to him in some ways. He would never to anything to hurt or disrespect her.”
“You sound like you respect him.”
“Who would not respect someone who put family first?”
“Sempre Famiglia.” I said remembering his tattoo. He really was dedicated to playing this role. I wanted to ask how long he’d been undercover, but figured that was a conversation for later.
“Yes.” He nodded. “It is everything.”
“I agree.” I sighed. “That’s why we’re even here, I suppose. I need to help my parents.”
“You love them very much.” He nodded. “I can see that.”
“They are all I have.” I shrugged. “Well asides from those two goofballs over there.” I nodded my head towards Charlotte and Anabel.
“You have me.”
“I don’t even really know you.”
“You know me intimately.”
“We just met, Matteo.”
“And yet, we both feel it.” He waved his hands in the air. “We both feel this.”
“I suppose.” I said and we just stared at each other for a few seconds not blinking. “But what is this that we are feeling? It’s just sex.”
“This is not just sex.” He shook his head. “I’ve fucked many women, Emily. This is not about a good or quick fuck. You know I wanted to give you my number that first night, but I didn’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because my life, it is too complicated. This is not a good time for me to get involved with anyone right now. This shouldn’t be happening, but I cannot stop myself.” He held up his hands. “Such is the power of chemistry.”
“You mean sex?”
“I mean a connection more powerful than sex.” He sighed. “Oh Emily, you are far too trusting, far too sweet for me.” He rubbed his forehead. “And yet, I am too selfish to walk away. I need you. All of you.”
“We’ve only met three times.”
“The poet Joseph Addison said, “mysterious love, uncertain treasure, Hast thou more of pain or pleasure! Endless torments dwell about thee: Yet who would live, and live without thee!”
“I’m not sure what that means?” I said surprised that he could quote poetry.
“It means that love is mysterious, that feelings are sacred things to be treasured. I don’t know you well, but I know that my soul has been drawn to you. I don’t know if we have love or what, but while I try and figure it all out, I must have you in my life. I don’t think that I could live without you, Emily.”
I started laughing at his words and he frowned at me. “What’s so funny?”
“You’re joking right?” I looked at him uncertainly. “I mean that was a bit full-on. We barely know each other, Matteo. I mean I like you a lot. And I feel the same connection.” I licked my lips nervously. “And I’d like to see where this could go, but I think we could live without each other, if we had to.”
“I can tell I’m the first Italian man you have been with, Emily. We are passionate about what we want. And we know our minds. I know my feelings. I know how badly my body craves you.” He looked at me seriously. “This is not a joke.”
“Okay.” I said and then because I couldn’t stop myself. “You’re going to make me fall for you, you know that right?”
“Emily my dear.” He gave me a wicked little smile. “You’ve already fallen. I don’t think I need to tell you that, though do I?” He sat back with a self satisfied expression and I just stared at his handsome face. He was right, of course. I had fallen for him. Hard and fast. And as I sat there and watched him folding my napkin, I wondered how it was all going to end. This rollercoaster ride was a dangerous one. I knew that. I could feel it in my bones. This man here could break my heart. Far worse than it had ever been broken before. He could break my heart and leave me a crumple of emotions and tears. I knew that and yet, I didn’t care. I’d already given myself to him. There was no going back now. He would protect me though. He was in the FBI. It was his duty to protect me. I just didn’t know if that protection extended to my heart.
