After a fire ravaged a large tenement building and killed many of its residents, Merrifort is only a shadow of the vibrant town it once was. But when a mysterious woman by the name of Stella Goldstein visits the town, she brings with her the seed for a far-from-ordinary tree that has the potential to change the lives of Merrifort people.
