CHAPTER 19
The idiot didn’t do much to stop her. Natasha felt her world falling apart. She was not sure about anything any longer. The fact that she really did love Isaiah was sickening. He was nothing and she felt more for him than she had ever felt for anybody. And he didn’t want her… Funny, the man from the caravan park didn’t want her, the daughter of the billionaire. She was distraught. Her life had gone to shit and it was all Isaiah’s fault. She didn’t want to marry Carlos Rodriguez, did not want to be his wife, but she was fast running out of options and suitors. Carlos was a very rich man, he owned many casino’s around the country and was doing extremely well for himself. Her mother made certain that she introduced them. He was a very good looking man and was very charismatic. She played the part of the good girlfriend, trying to keep him at bay. “Babe, I have needs.” He wanted sex, they all wanted fucking sex. “You could tempt a saint and I am no saint. I need to have you.” “I… I want to wait.” “Wait for what? We are getting married already… Wait for what exactly?” “Until we are married. It will make it more special.” She was not only lying to him, she was lying to herself. Natasha wanted to wait forever. She didn’t want him to touch her. It didn’t matter how good looking he was, how much money he had, she didn’t want him to touch her. It was so out of her control. In her head she believed that once they were married, that the feeling would leave her. That she would feel like it was meant to happen between them. But right now, she didn’t want to think about him touching her. “So what? When are we getting married?” He asked clearly frustrated. “The sooner the better.” She said smiling. She knew he was frustrated. “Can’t you just suck me off.” Oh my god he did not just say that? “No. I can’t believe you are asking me to do that.” She was appalled. “Just touch it.” Oh gross. “Carlos, no. Enough. I… I’m going home. I’ll call you later.” She was disgusted. How could he speak to her that way? It was crude and it was disrespectful. Isaiah was the only man who spoke to her that way, and despite not liking it, she liked it from him. Only him… Why the hell didn’t he just marry her? Carlos was pushing for the marriage to happen sooner rather than later. He wanted it to happen now. Money was not an issue, so things were very available. “It’s just that I want to pick what I want, I don’t want to rush it.” She was freaking out. This marriage was becoming a little too real. “Rush what? Pick whatever you want. I will have it all arranged. Anything your heart desires.” Her heart desired Isaiah Hamilton. “Carlos, this is too soon.” “It’s either we get married or we have sex, your choice. I’m giving you the respect you want.” “Fine, at least give me a month.” He was not happy with that. But he agreed. In that month Natasha was frantically trying to get everything happening. She found that time was not on her side. She was running out of time and the marriage was happening no matter what. Her mother knew she was iffy about it all so she made certain not to leave her side. “Mum, I…” “You are going to make a wonderful wife. Let’s get this dress happening.” Her mother refused to listen to a single thing she said. She didn’t care of her concerns. All that her mother wanted was for Natasha to marry rich. The week of the wedding, Natasha was losing her nerve. She found herself at mansion. Isaiah looked very shocked to see her. He had a girl with him, they were sitting outside, he had no shirt on and was having breakfast. This girl was stunning. Brunette with green coloured eyes. Body to die for. “Tasha?” He looked at her questioningly. “Um…” She looked at the girl and was slowly losing her nerve. “This is Selena. Selena, this is Natasha.” He introduced them politely. “Nice to meet you.” She said with her south American accent. Brazilian… “Hey. Um…” Natasha sat down not knowing what to say now. She felt lost. “Something wrong?” “No.” She replied to Isaiah. “I… I just came to grab some of my things.” He nodded his head. “You didn’t have to come, I could have sent them to you, saved you the trouble.” He said keeping is cool. “You lived here?” Selena asked her now. Natasha nodded her head. “Yes.” Natasha didn’t want to talk to her. “Did you two date?” She was very nosy. Isaiah was the one to reply. “Her dad is my godfather.” He never told her that they were together? “This house was her father’s.” “Oh… Okay, so how did you end up with it?” “Long story.” Isaiah was good at how he veered off topic. Natasha raised an eyebrow at him letting him know she was so onto him. “Your wedding is soon.” He stated casually. “Yeah.” “Oh, how cute… Imagine we end up getting married at the same time?” Selena’s comment shocked the hell out of Natasha. “Married? Are you engaged?” Natasha asked them. “Hoping. Isaiah said maybe we should get married, so we are kind of engaged I suppose.” It was like she was stabbed in the heart. Isaiah gave her a look, it was like he wanted to explain himself. “Tasha…” “Wow, that’s great.” She said getting up. She made her way up to her room. She needed to grab something, make it believable that was the reason she was here. Not that she needed to be with Isaiah, not that she needed him to tell her not to marry Carlos. She was shocked to her core. He was engaged? The minute she heard the knock on the door she knew it was him. She didn’t know how to be. She was not going to make a scene. No, not going to make a scene. “I can explain…” She didn’t let him finish his sentence. Natasha slapped him hard across his face. Way not to make a scene. “You can explain? You are engaged?” Not knowing what came over her, she slapped him again. He shook his head at her. “Don’t do that again.” He warned. “You wouldn’t marry me, but you are more than happy to marry her?” “You wanted to marry me for the fucking money!” He snapped through clenched teeth. “So what?” “Oh my fucking god. You are so fucking dense.” “You chose her over me?” “You left remember? To marry him, you left me to marry him for money.” “Because you wouldn’t marry me.” She was about to lose her head, hysteria bordering now. “Why are you here?” “I told you, to grab some of my things.” “Why are you here Tasha?” “Don’t call me that. You have no right under the sun to call me that.” “You want to come back? Is that it? You want me to force you not to marry him? You came back to play me again?” “I never played you.” “You played me from the moment you met up with me. Did you think that I was going to let you keep getting away with it?” “I don’t have any idea what you are on about.” “You go to start this new life of yours, then you return to me, and you leave again, only to come back. What the fuck are you after?” “Absolutely nothing. Nothing from you.” “Why are you here?” “Because I’m an idiot.” She was so angry. Very angry. “You came because you don’t want to be with him. You came because it’s me you want to be with.” “Even if that’s true, it’s not any longer.” “You will marry him just to prove a point?” “What point?” “That you did it. That you didn’t need me.” “Will she be signing a prenup?” Natasha asked now. She needed to keep her shit together. “No.” “Wow. So if it doesn’t work out between the pair of you, she gets most of my money?” “It’s not your money, not if you are marrying him.” “But I had to sign it right?” “We were never getting married so it wasn’t even an issue.” “Fine… You’re right.” She nodded her head. She needed him to leave. She was done. Marrying Carlos was the way to go, no doubt about it any longer. She was lucky that Carlos wanted her. Natasha came to leave, she needed to go home, but Isaiah grabbed her arm and pulled her into his body. He forced her to look up at him by lifting her chin. Natasha stared into his dark eyes, the world seemed to stop. He kissed her. His mouth was on hers and she tried not to kiss him back but it was futile. She missed him so much. Isaiah was not being gentle at all, he kissed her hard. This was wrong. She was getting married in a few days, and here she was kissing Isaiah. Or trying to keep up with his him. Isaiah was controlling the kiss, he pressed her up against the wall and held her hands above her head. He thrust his knee in between her legs and Natasha gasped. Isaiah was being forceful, a little too rough. It was like he missed her as much as she missed him. Natasha shook herself awake and turned her face away from him. He put his head on her forehead trying to regulate his breathing. His erection was very evident as it rubbed itself on her stomach. “Why the fuck did you return. I was letting you go.” He was speaking quietly, but she could feel the anger radiate from his body. “You never had me to let me go.” She said wanting to hurt him so much. He was engaged to be married. Isaiah let go of her hands and moved a few steps back. “So why the fuck are you here? Why aren’t you prepping for the wedding?” “I’m going.” She said wiping her mouth with the back of her hands. “What the fuck are you playing at? Ha? You wanted out… You left. This is what you wanted? Why the fuck are you here!” He yelled really loud now. Natasha jumped. She was pressed up against the wall too afraid to move. She knew his mood and she didn’t want to risk her safety. “Tell me why you are here?” “I don’t know.” “Not good enough. Why are you here?” “Isaiah… I don’t know. I…” “You know, why the fuck are you here?” He walked right up to her and grabbed her face in an icelike grip. She was going to bruise. “Why!” He yelled at the top of his lungs, right into her face. Natasha whimpered, he looked deadly. “Isaiah? Is everything alright?” That was Selena. She was knocking. Isaiah cursed under his breath. “It’s fine. I’ll be out in a minute.” He said trying to keep his voice calm. “Okay…” She didn’t sound too convinced. Isaiah waited for a while before he spoke to Natasha again. He eased his grip on her face but didn’t move away. “Why? Why did you come back?” “This is my home.” She said not wanting to tell him the truth. “It wasn’t your home when you left. So cut the fucking bullshit and tell me the truth for once in your fucking life.” He was trying to keep his voice down. He was speaking through clenched teeth. Yep, he was angry. “I don’t want to marry him.” She blurted out. She was an idiot. Isaiah laughed, it was a frustrated laugh, he moved away from her and ran a hand through his hair. “You don’t want to marry him… Of course you don’t. So why is your wedding in a few days?” “Because it is. Mistake coming her. I know that now.” “So you are going to marry him anyway?” “Yes.” She didn’t have a choice. “Right, that’s smart.” Natasha rolled her eyes at his mockery. “You’re engaged. Don’t talk to me about stupid decisions.” She snapped. “I’m not the idiot in a relationship I don’t want to be in.” He bit back. “No, you’re the idiot who just kissed another woman. Whatever. Get lost. Get out of my room.” She was so angry. Isaiah nodded his head and left. Just like that he walked out of her room. Son of a bitch! She was so upset, the fact that he was really engaged. Why? Why didn’t he just marry her? He was the reason she was so fucked up. Natasha wanted to burn the place down with both of them in it. She was so pissed off. She lay on her bed for a while needing to cry it out. What the hell was she doing? She was not going to see this marriage through. She didn’t care any longer. She was not going to marry Carlos. He was sweet and all but definitely not for her. This façade was too much to keep up. She had to stop. It was time to think about how she was going to live now. Marrying for money was a no go. She was not able to handle them touching her. No matter what, they were not getting into her pants. Not by any means. Natasha picked up her phone. She called Carlos. It was over, no use delaying the inevitable. She didn’t want to do it over the phone but she just wanted to get it over and done with already. “What?” “Carlos… I’m sorry. I can’t. I… I can’t go through with it.” ‘ “You say this now?” “At least I said it now. I… I’m sorry.” “You don’t love me?” No shit. “No.” “Natasha…” “I’m sorry. Goodbye.” She ended the call. She was sick in her stomach, but she felt the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders. Then that dreaded feeling of having to deal with her mother. She waited for the call… *** “What’s going on Isaiah?” Selena wanted answers. They were sitting outside by the pool. “Nothing to worry about.” “It didn’t sound like nothing.” “It’s family shit.” “You are all worked up. I mean I have never heard you yell like that.” That’s because nobody ever got to him like that vixen upstairs. He was pissed as hell. He didn’t get her, why the hell did she come back for? She was playing him, using him. He was done. He wanted to hurt her and then fuck her and hurt her again. It was too intense. “She has a habit of pissing me off.” Selena really didn’t need to know the ins and the outs. Isaiah kept his eyes inside. He wanted to see if she was leaving. He gave her a few hours and when she didn’t leave her room he went upstairs to see what the deal was. She was asleep. Fuck! She was gorgeous. He had forgotten how stunning she was. He missed her so much and wanted to do very dirty things to her. A mistake he nearly made already. He didn’t understand her stupid need to get married. Why? Why the fucking need to give her life over to any man with money? She was a beautiful woman and didn’t need to be the way she was. Her mother had done some lasting damage to her alright. He left her alone. Isaiah didn’t see Natasha until later that night. She came down and sat at the dining table. She was immediately served dinner by the housekeeper. “Are you spending the night?” Selena was feeling threatened. Natasha had this hard look about her. She glared at Selena. Here it comes. “I should be asking you the same thing. This is my home.” She snapped. “Oh, I… I didn’t mean anything by it.” “Whatever.” Natasha was in a mood. “Isn’t your fiancé going to be asking where you are?” Isaiah wanted to understand her. “Yeah.” She didn’t even look at him. “Tasha…” She still didn’t look at him. “Tasha…” And nothing. “Natasha!” He banged his fist on the table and that got her looking at him. There she went again, making it out like he was nothing. Always putting herself as better than him. “What? What? What?” She opened her hands up like what the fuck. “I’m speaking to you.” Fuck he was close to really doing something regrettable. “Good for you. What? What is so important?” She was not going to play nice. He drew in a deep breath hoping he didn’t snap. Before he had a chance to say anything else, her phone rang. Natasha cursed under her breath when she saw who it was. She picked up. “Mother… Yes. Yes I did. I… You know why… Mum…” Isaiah watched as she picked herself up and left the dinner table. He followed her without her knowing and listened in. “I am not going to call him again. I told him already that it’s over. I’m done… Too bad, I will figure it… Yes mother, dad won, he got you back by fucking my life up. I’m sorry but I can’t marry these men. I’m not like you, I can’t switch it on and off. I am grossed out mum… What? You are not serious… Fine. Okay… Will do.” That that Natasha ended the call. She looked at her phone before she smashed it across the room. It hit the wall before it shattered on the floor. She turned to return to the dining room, or to her room when she spotted him. She shook her head at him. “Happy?” She asked him. Isaiah drew in a deep breath and walked over to her pulling her into his arms and embracing her. She let him hold her, she held him back, tightly too. They stayed like that for a while before she pulled away. She didn’t look at him, left him there and headed up to her room. He felt bad for her. She was smart to end the relationship with Carlos. Isaiah wasn’t too certain that he was going to let it happen, he was happy enough that she was the one to end it. It wasn’t messy that way. Following morning he found Natasha sitting outside having a coffee. “Morning.” He said taking a seat opposite her. “Yeah.” She mumbled. Selena was there in a heartbeat. She stood behind Isaiah and put her arms around his neck kissing his cheek. “Morning sunshine.” “Morning.” He smiled patting her arm. He felt a little off having her here around Natasha. He wanted to tell Natasha that he never once agreed to marry Selena. That he was never going to marry her. But he would leave it for now. Selena sat down beside him and looked at Natasha. “Did you sleep well?” Why did she have to talk to her? Why? Natasha was better left alone. “Did I sleep well?” “Well yeah, I mean I know from myself, if I’m not in my own bed I can’t sleep. Or it takes me forever to get comfortable.” “Right.” “Tasha…” Isaiah gave her a warning look. “What? Why is she even talking to me?” “Its how normal people have conversations.” He said getting fed up with her over the top behaviour. “Like in the real world.” “Oh go die.” She bounced back quickly enough. “I’m sorry, did I do something to offend you?” Selena needed to shut up. “Your very presence, as with his presence offends me.” “Selena, babe, don’t worry about it.” He didn’t want this to keep going. Natasha was vicious when she wanted to be. “I need some money.” And back to her old self. Isaiah tilted his head eyeing her out. “Of course you do.” He was not going to do this now. “What? I need money.” “Okay, I heard you.” “Did you? So if you heard, why aren’t you doing anything about it?” Wow. “Tasha, I would really advise you to tone it down.” “Whatever. Have the money in my card before I leave.” She said getting up and leaving them alone. Isaiah didn’t want to explain himself to Selena, but she did deserve an explanation. “What’s going on Isaiah?” “She’s by godfather’s daughter. I have access to all the inheritance. Her father entrusted me with it. So if she needs or wants something she has to come to me… It goes through me first.” “Wow… And she is always this… Up herself?” “She was born into money, always had a lot of it at her disposal. She was brought up this way.” “Does that make it okay?” “I’m not saying it does or doesn’t, but it’s what she knows.” “Yeah… I mean I think she’s old enough to know how to treat others. Having money does not make you better than anybody?” No shit. “Just don’t try and converse with her.” Selena nodded. “Is there or was there anything else going on between you two? I mean the chemistry sort of speaks for itself.” How to answer that? “Just keep out of her way.” Was how he replied to that. He didn’t want this to become a crazy house. It was bad enough with Natasha being back in her bitch zone. He didn’t want to be burdened with Selena knowing about their history… Isaiah wasn’t going to give her anything just yet. She had to understand that she didn’t walk into his life and demand things. If she wanted anything she would have to work for it. Or at least ask him nicely. Natasha stormed into his office a few hours after. “Where is it?” She asked throwing her credit card into his face. Okay… “Where is what?” Keeping his voice calm. “The money. Where is the money idiot?” Isaiah leaned back in his chair eyeing her out. He was not liking her tone at all. “I’m going to ask you to watch the way you speak to me.” “Put the money in the account.” “No.” Oh she was not going to see a dime, not the rate she was going. “What?” “You heard. No. No I am not putting it into your account. You have just fucked that chance up.” “You can’t do that.” “I just did.” He stood up and walked around the table. He leaned up against the desk and waited for her tantrum. “Saving up for you wedding?” Bitch had so much sass. “Something like that.” He was praying for her own sake that she walk away. “You are an animal. You belong back at that caravan shithole you call home.” She went there. Bad move, really bad move. After everything they had gone through, he believed she had somewhat changed, grew up, matured, understood that his home was his home. Not to diss it. “Take it back.” He said calmly. “No. No I will not. Does the truth hurt?” “Tasha, last chance, apologise and take it back.” “No.” He gave her a half smile before he walked right up to her and smacked her across her mouth using the back of his hand. He cut her lip and it bled instantly. She touched her lip and saw the blood. Her face was on of shock. “Apologise.” He was not going to stop. He was going to really hurt her. She was trying to rile him up, he knew she was just antagonising him, but it didn’t change the fact that he was going to lose his shit. “I’m sorry for speaking the truth.” She said wiping her mouth with the back of her hands. “What’s the deal? You want to start shit? You came back to start shit? Babe, I never told you to get engaged, I never told you to break it off with him, what the fuck is it that has you so eager to set me off?” “You are not important enough for me to care to set you off.” She snapped. “Liar.” “Go die Isaiah.” Isaiah grabbed a tissue and pressed it on her bleeding lip. She nudged herself away from him. “You’re dripping everywhere.” He said grabbing her arm and pulling her closer to him. He pressed the tissue on her lip again making sure to keep her arm in his grasp. “Leave me alone, I can manage.” She snapped. He didn’t listen to her. She was looking to get him to snap. Didn’t she understand that she was going to be the one in trouble if he really did snap. “Why do you have to go there for?” He asked after a moment of silence. “Ha? Why bring up my home? You are angry at the wrong person.” He let her go and waited to see what she was going to do. “Have you ever hit her?” She asked looking into his eyes. Her blue eyes so sad. “It’s your own stupid fault. Learn to watch what comes out of your mouth.” He watched as she thought hard about her next move. Please settle down. He hated that he hurt her. Fuck! She was walking away. Good. This was good. Until she began to smash everything in the office. She was hurling vases at him, pens, she was smashing anything in her way. Isaiah had to dodge a few items that were being thrown at him before he reached her. He grabbed her wrists at squeezed so hard. She was in pain. “You’re hurting me.” No… No way. “Settle down.” “Ouch! Let go… You’re hurting me.” She was not used to pain. Good. “Have you calmed down?” “Yes… Yes…” She rubbed her wrists the moment he let her go. “You can clean this mess.” “You can go die.” She bit back. “Tasha, you will not leave this room until it’s all cleaned up.” “Get the cleaners to do it.” She was unbelievable. Her fight seemed to have ebbed. “No, you will clean it up.” He was dead set serious. Isaiah sat down and watched her come to the conclusion that she didn’t have a way out. She was to get down and clean up the entire room. The idiot cut her hand the minute she began to pick up the mess. Fucking great. She showed him her cut and gave him a see what you made me do look. “It hurts.” She said shaking her hand. Isaiah moved over to her and assessed it. It was a minor cut, like a paper cut, nothing more. She was carrying on like her life was over. “I need stitches… See, this is what happens when you think to take charge.” “You’ll survive.” He couldn’t help loving her dismay. She was so adorable when things didn’t go her way. She gave up, she shook her head at him. “Can’t do it. If I continue this way, I will surely lose an arm or a leg. Get the cleaners who you pay to do it.” With that she up and left. The nerve of her? She was the most troublesome woman he had ever encountered, like ever. It took Isaiah the rest of the day to calm down. He didn’t know how to handle having Natasha around. It felt so normal having her here, but it didn’t feel right having Selena around any longer. It was Natasha’s home, she had first dibs. It wasn’t that Natasha’s best interest worried him, it was more that it felt so right having here her. It’s where she belonged. Biggest problem now was how to work her out in his life. Where to fit her in. It was bad enough he was trying so hard not to fuck her senseless. He needed to keep himself in check, but it was getting harder and harder to do. He didn’t know how to keep this going. Selena was becoming clingier than ever. She could feel there was more than meets the eye between them and Isaiah wanted to come clean. He wanted to tell her that they were lovers, that he still wanted Natasha, but he didn’t want to hurt Selena. If Isaiah wasn’t mistaken, Natasha was jealous. She was acting up because she was jealous. It would have been around the fourth week of Natasha returning to the mansion when something big happened. She had gone out the day before and sure enough in the paper there was a picture of Natasha walking to the shops, an arrow pointing at her stomach… Headline in bold… Natasha Bronte expecting? Who is the father? It took Isaiah a moment to understand what that meant. Was she pregnant? He looked closely at the picture and there was a little bump on her belly… But… Surely she wasn’t pregnant… Could she be?
