Far in the future, in a galactic society where humanity is divided between the Aventis and the Regulars, and ruled by the former, a young man awakens to a third existence, a Familiar, and finds himself thrust into a conflict fought in microcosm between rival powers, while struggling to survive as a high-school student at prestigious Academy dominated by Aventis students.
