Police Lieutenant Matt Leahy is surprised to learn that he has been assigned to work with a special branch of the National Security Agency in conducting an investigation at a top-secret base called Apache Point located in the New Mexico desert. He is met at the Albuquerque airport by a beautiful female agent who has been appointed to assist in the case. At Apache Point he learns that an extraterrestrial element known as stellarite, which powers the world's first time transporter, has been sabotaged. Computer models have determined that the only other known source of the element came to Earth in a meteor that struck Egypt in the year 1250 B.C. However, the agent who was sent back in time to recover it has taken the element and vanished into the world of Pharaoh Ramses II. To make matters worse, the suspect must be captured within 20 days, and the stellarite recovered, or hundreds of time agents will be forever stranded in the past. But Leahy soon discovers that there is much more at stake than has been revealed. A closely guarded secret threatens to reach out from man's distant past and ignite World War III. He and his team of experts transport into the era of the pharaohs, unaware of the deadly consequences that await them.

As two high school sweethearts and lovers are reunited after an eight-year absence, two tragedies are occurring. Pamela, at the age of twenty-six, is dying of cancer. Dwight, also twenty-six years old, is dying in a subtler way. Dwight has allowed financial success and prestige to erase his life’s passion. Fate brings these two long-lost partners together on a quest for transcendence. When fate brings these two long-lost romantic partners together during the last days of Pamela’s tortured life, everything that takes place after that is intended to allow you to meditate about difficulties and decisions that you will almost certainly have to face. Is all of your physical and psychological pain meant to simply be endured? Or is it your right to decide what limits you wish to place upon your own suffering? Finally, is it possible that a supremely patient and loving spiritual presence carefully knits together what might seem to be accidental or trivial events, so that even the darkest and most tragic of all of our lives disasters lead toward an ultimate state of ecstasy and transcendence?? Because these subjects are so crucial in all of our lives, I am offering “The Runway” to you as a free download. If this story assists you in any way, that will make my work worthwhile. My best wishes to you,Michael Naugle.

The Apostle

Christianity / Lds / Nonfiction

EDITORIAL REVIEW: Master of suspense and #1 *New York Times* bestselling author Brad Thor returns with his most riveting international thriller yet. A new administration and a new approach to dealing with America's enemies have left covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath without a job. But when American doctor Julia Gallo is kidnapped in Afghanistan, the terms of her ransom leave the president with only one course of action. In a dangerous assignment that the United States government will deny any knowledge of, Scot Harvath must secretly infiltrate Kabul's notorious Policharki Prison and free the man the kidnappers demand as ransom - al-Qaeda mastermind, Mustafa Khan. But when Harvath arrives, he quickly learns that there is more to the kidnapping than anyone dares to admit. And as the subterfuge is laid bare, Harvath must examine his own career of hunting down and killing terrorists, and ask himself if he has what it takes to help one of the world's worst go free. Brimming with the kind of ripped-from-the-headlines authenticity Brad Thor's internationally bestselling novels are known for, *The Apostle* doubles down on the blockbuster success of *The Last Patriot* and reaffirms Thor's status as the master of the political thriller. **Unabridged Compact Disk Includes a Bonus MP3 CD of Brad Thor's *The Lions Of Lucerne***
