A Tranquil Star: Unpublished Short Stories
Primo Levi
Memoir / Fiction / Science
These seventeen stories, first published in Italian between 1949 and 1986, demonstrate Levi's extraordinary range, taking the reader from the primal resistance of a captured partisan fighter to a middle-aged chemist experimenting with a new paint that wards off evil, to the lustful thoughts of an older man obsessed with a mysterious woman in a seaside villa. In the title story, Levi demonstrates his unerringly tragic understanding of the fragility of the universe through the tale of a pensive astronomer, terrified by the possibility that a long-dormant star might explode and reduce the entire planet to vapor. This remarkable new collection affirms Italo Calvino's conviction that Levi was "one of the most important and gifted writers of our time."

Hail Caesar
Levi Garcia
Doctor Vanderburg is a snake oil salesman. He's also dying on the side of the road. As chance would have it, Cyrus runs into him and his wagon of wonders and is presented with a gift. Of course it's got a bit of a curse on it.Last Halloween, I had a party. One of the things I wanted to do was to have guests tell ghost stories around a fire. This was a great idea in my head, but then I realized I needed a ghost story to tell. I did the usual Google search, but didn't find anything I was happy with. Most of what I found were urban legends and things that I was aware that the people that I would be telling the story to had probably already heard. I realized that I was just going to have to write my own ghost story. I only had a week before Halloween, but I locked the basic story down and gathered up some props for a theatrical telling which culminated in me throwing a ring into the fire...an action that would probably make sense after reading the story.

The Complete Works of Primo Levi
Primo Levi
Memoir / Fiction / Science
Primo Levi, the Italian-born chemist once described by Philip Roth as that “quicksilver little woodland creature enlivened by the forest’s most astute intelligence,” has largely been considered a heroic figure in the annals of twentieth-century literature for If This Is a Man, his haunting account of Auschwitz. Yet Levi’s body of work extends considerably beyond his experience as a survivor. Now, the transformation of Levi from Holocaust memoirist to one of the twentieth century’s greatest writers culminates in this publication of The Complete Works of Primo Levi. This magisterial collection finally gathers all of Levi’s fourteen books—memoirs, essays, poetry, and fiction—into three slip-cased volumes. Thirteen of the books feature new translations, and the other is newly revised by the original translator. Nobel laureate Toni Morrison introduces Levi’s writing as a “triumph of human identity and worth over the pathology of human destruction.” The appearance of this historic publication will occasion a major reappraisal of “one of the most valuable writers of our time” (Alfred Kazin).
The Complete Works of Primo Levi features all new translations of: The Periodic Table, The Drowned and the Saved, The Truce, Natural Histories, Flaw of Form, The Wrench, Lilith, Other People’s Trades, and If Not Now, When?—as well as all of Levi’s poems, essays, and other nonfiction work, some of which have never appeared before in English.

The Cave
Levi Garcia
Otho has a job guarding a cave for a wizard. Working for a wizard can be a scary thing, but that doesn't mean that you won't ever get bored doing your job. Just when he starts thinking he needs a career change, a visitor arrives.Wizards live a long time and collect a lot of stuff. They're the hoarders of fantasy literature. However, that doesn't mean that they just collect junk. Due to reasons explained later, they don't always keep their valuable possessions where they actually live. This is the story of Otho who is employed to guard a cave where a wizard's valuable objects are kept. Otho has been guarding the same cave for many years, and has become bored as no one has ever tried to enter. This changes when Prince Landon arrives on a quest to retrieve what is inside the cave. This is also the first of my short stories that feature Prince Landon.

What about the ancestors of their followers who unwittingly become the keepers of their secrets?

Transcendental Magic
Eliphas Levi
This is Eliphas Levi's (1810-1875) best-known book. This work arguably made Levi THE most influential writer on magic since the Renaissance. Originally issued in French, the English translator is A.E. Waite and it is doubtful that anyone else could have better captured the essence of Levi's work. The book is divided in two parts; the first is theoretical, the second practical. This is a fascinating and often debated work involving a discussion that covers almost the entire realm of Ritual and High Magic.

Stolen History: How the Palestinians and Their Allies Attack Israel's Right to Exist by Erasing Its Past
David Meir-Levi
Because there is never ever was a "Palestine" nor a "Palestinian people," those who promote the notion lies of a homeland where the "Palestinians" lived from "time immemorial," must create a faux-history to cloak their claims in a mantle of respectability and credibility. What easier than simply to steal Israel’s history, thereby gaining the added dividend of arguing that the Jewish state shouldn’t exist because it never did? Meir Levi shows how a movement of Arab propagandists, supported by Western “revisionist” archaeologists, anthropologists, and Biblical scholars, is engaging in exactly such a fraud by systematically “revising” the history of the Middle east. He says that this “historical cleansing” is the intellectual equivalent of genocide.
