‘Allie!’ I exclaimed. ‘Shall I look?’
‘Yes, go on…’
I hurried into the bathroom and found the test stick on the basin. I picked it up and looked at the display. I then rushed back out to Allie.
‘Allie!’
‘Yes?’
‘You’re pregnant too!’ I exclaimed loudly, showing her the stick.
‘I…I am?’
‘Yes! Look! That’s the clearest line I’ve ever seen!’
‘Oh, my God!’
‘Oh honey, we’re going to have our children at the same time! I can’t believe this! I’m so, so happy right now, Allie!’
We held each other close and murmured words of love to each other. We had been blessed with not only each other, a home and a future but now also with children. Life couldn’t get any better, I mused.
Looking up at Allie, I smiled. ‘You make me so happy.’
‘Ditto,’ she replied.
‘I love you, Allie.’
‘I love you too, Cass.’
We kissed and held each other close, while our love for each other and the family we had created filled the room. I smiled up at Allie with love. I knew this was ours forever.
