Family of Monsterz, page 15
As he was escorted out scowl on his face, head swimming thru a sea of her ill intentions, she finished with a hint drop. “What’s that rare gem you know the green one… think it’s called Jade; I’ll have to ask my boyfriend’s intern. He’ll know. Guess I’ll see you next lifetime.” She continued sitting as he exited smile on her face like her goal had been accomplished, and it could only get worse considering she hadn’t even budged.
Gene on the other hand had entered the room looking almost confused when he was allowed to be seated.
“Niecy sent you?” He immediately questioned scratching his head, “I just called yesterday and left a voicemail.” Then, noticing her blank expression he immediately began to worry. “What’s wrong with my baby and my son? … the fuck you doing here Brandie?”
Unable to be as heartless as her intent she blurted out. “You don’t deserve this, the baby’s not yours…” before she could continue Gene went from sitting eerily calm and still, to standing before her enraged. Chest filled with emotions as though his heart shattered flooding the area with explosive pain. His eyes instantly blood red, pupils enlarged as if he was high out of his mind.
The smirk that slowly spread across his face one that you’d see in an asylum for the criminally insane. Something Brandie had never seen, if this had been a news article, she’d have immediately printed a retraction. “I just wanted you to do the math… I don’t know how you’ll react to what I say next. But you have to know Box knows Niecy, they didn’t just meet during your formal introduction. Your son is your nephew...”
A massive man in general, Gene’s seldomly achieved anger made him double in size. When he snatched the chair up slamming it into the wall literally smashing it into pieces instantly. The CO’s stormed the already small room slamming him face first into the wall as Brandie was drug out.
So enraged that he didn’t care who tasted his wrath Gene fought every man entering the room until they began shooting him with the highest voltage of electricity the prison tasers had available. Shocked so many times he’d passed out, they cuffed and carried him out. Carrying that gargantuan man thru the facility was a several man job. One that took them just passed Box’s cell block, seeing his brother incapacitated was heartbreaking and knowing Gene’s demeanor this was the only way to deal with his heart.
As Box lay watching everything replay in his mind on repeat, hearing Brandie’s last few words again and again. “Jade…”, though the name sounded familiar he couldn’t place a face with it. Just as he turned on his back throwing a wad of paper in the air the way he would have thrown his basketball McBride appeared in his cell doorway. Before he could sit up, she put her finger to her lips, Box had been in his own cell quite some time because of his late-night detail cleaning. His cell almost always open because they could come get him at any hour. Brandie slid the door closed covering its window with wet toilet paper thinly enough that it wouldn’t fall.
She’d made a few friends, most of them money hungry enough to give her whatever she wanted for the right dollar amount. Knowledge that she’d exploited tonight to check on Box and aid him in easing his mind. Knowing they wouldn’t have much time she immediately started undoing her belt and taking off everything from the waist down. Skin soft like butter she untied his pants immediately seeing his once flaccid member become taut as her fingers slid slowly passed it. By the time she’d eased his pants to his ankles he was fully erect. Climbing on top of him she with a gasp slowly inched him inside her one hand over his mouth finally the other over her own.
Grinding slowly as her walls clung to him, she rode him until they climaxed together. Allowed every inch of him to stay inside her just long enough to whisper in his ear, “Don’t get used to this.” Then looking him directly in the eyes, as if to make sure he knew she was serious she whispered. “This was the only way I could ensure you were ok.” Then as quickly as she appeared, she’d disappeared, leaving him conflicted between thoughts of his little brother and memory of throbbing inside a pussy that held him like his dick was the only in existence.
The first chance he got Box told the attorneys he’d need to see Frankie and Rose to fix what had been broken. Knowing instantly that Box was referring to Gene, what he didn’t know was how bad it would be. Gene had been in solitary confinement since the incident following Brandie’s visit, Box had been sending messages thru McBride and the few CO’s that she knew would pass messages under the circumstances. For the first time ever, Gene had no words for him, something they’d never gone through. It didn’t seem to matter what he said, Box waited wondering if he’d so much as read what was being written to him. But without a response he would never know and as much as he wanted to tell their mother, he knew she’d demand they fix this one thing without her.
It had been two weeks since Niecy had heard from Gene, something he’d just promised by voicemail wouldn’t happen. Two weeks in their world never happened, she’d never even heard about Brandie’s surprise visit until one evening when she got a surprise herself. She’d been putting her maternity bag together for the hospital when the phone rang. Belly getting bigger she’d been moving too slow and missed the first call. But since she hadn’t heard from Gene, she was holding the cordless phone in her hand when it rang again.
4This time answering abruptly on the first ring the automated service began conveying the message that she had a call coming through from the men’s correctional facility. What she didn’t expect to hear was the name Amell Kendal. Scared that he would be bearing news of an injury she immediately pressed one accepting the call.
“Where’s Gene?” Niecy demanded.
“He’s alright,” Box responded, “but we need to talk about your friend Brandie, who she really is to you and how she’s trying to steal your joy. What I’m about to tell you I won’t have time to even begin to explain but we need to start with a question. Is the baby mine or Gene’s?”
“Boy, what the fuck did you just ask me?” She answered with a voice full of tears.
“Come on, I need to know, you need to admit, and my nigga is crushed already whether it is or not. He thinks we’ve been lying but no lies were told only truth was withheld. I didn’t know you then and you barely know me now. Is the baby mine?” Box demanded.
A barely audible yes escaped her lips before Box continued. Nodding with tears of his own in his eyes Box began ending the call, “I’m sure you haven’t heard from him. You need to pop up on ya boy, Brandie told him the truth. So, I’m about to tell you the truth, she’s mad cause between you and every woman in these streets I encountered next to one…. you were my choice; I’ve been hitting your friend since the first time I met her. She’s jealous of you and playing a dangerous game. I’m gonna send a message on a bird use every word wisely.” Then just as the system said 30 seconds were left, he finished. “I gotta go.”
As soon as the phone hung up Niecy sunk to the floor with pain shooting from her heart to her belly and back again. She had to be smart about all this. Her and Brandie had been friends at least a decade, all she could hear were her Father’s words. One day you’ll have to learn the difference between a friend and an enemy. When you learn the difference baby girl… you have to decide if you can live wit em or if the world is better off without em.
It took Niecy several days to digest what all was said. Already on his visitation list she decided that she needed to own up to her miscommunication and fix her impending marriage before it didn’t come to pass. However, eight months pregnant she now felt like she had no one. The morning she’d planned to visit Gene had been a blur, between rushing to get together to the car ride there. Frankie and Rose had been amazing enough to not only share their time but also referee. After all Niecy would be baring her soul in front of them both. Every possible outcome of the event about to take place had already crossed her mind, and all of them made her want to vomit in anticipation. She had hoped that Rose and Frankie would be enough to keep him from exploding on her.
A Sunday morning in the penal system was currently unbelievably packed. When the three entered the visitation lounge it was standing room only. After the first thirty minutes of waiting there was a shift change and different guards emerged from the back. Amongst them was McBride who immediately made eye contact with Frankie. Immediately she began checking the list for Box’s name, and just as quickly took note of the fact that the only name present was Eugene Kendall.
Knowing the situation, she made the call to get him first being that a pregnant woman was with them. She had hidden, quite well, every possible connection between that family and herself. Knowing the weight of the matter she, however, would bend every rule she could to ensure both Kendall boys would endure this stint in prison as peacefully as possible.
Being watched and getting the job done without being noticed was a specialty for Elite. As attractive as she was, she had a rather innocent appearance, and she was known to use it to her advantage. Smile broad on her face as she approached them, McBride greeted them. “Hey now old man. I’d hug you but we need them not to question any encounter.” Then leaning in she looked directly at Niecy, “...And you Lucy got some splaining to do honey. He’s not the easiest to speak to these days. And that’s even for me, and in here I’m an authority. Anything you may need while they’re here, I’m glad to do for you. Anything.” Then stepping back and smiling at them all Rose included, McBride stepped back and lead them to a private room. “He was let out of confinement about three days ago. The inmate, or Gene as you know him, will be right in.”
Ten to fifteen minutes had passed, Rose on one side of the table about a chair away sat Niecy and standing between them was Frankie with his back to the door. Coincidentally, Frankie was just a large enough man to be concealing the fact that, a very large bellied Niecy was sitting there at all. So, on entrance, Gene’s room warming smile beaming bright at his mother and should have been father was out.
“I love y’all sooo much. You just have no idea. I’m so stressed if I don’t beat this case, I’ll lose my job. I’m glad y’all…” but before he could finish Frankie stood moving to reveal Niecy’s very pregnant presence. Something that before Brandie’s event filled visit would have brought him to his knees with tears of joy. His stride slowed to a stop, and before she could speak his smile had faded.
It was in that moment Rose took over. “Eugene Kendall, fix your face and listen to your very beautiful, very pregnant, soon to be wife. I raised better men than your father. You will give her a chance to speak.” And without retort he did as instructed. Gene a Mama’s boy, sat across the room as instructed, never once looking up to so much as acknowledge her presence or that of the child she was carrying. The one currently doing summersaults in her stomach at the sound of his voice.
“Gene, now you know I’m not a liar baby…” Niecy blurted out, “... I keep no secrets from you. This wasn’t kept, I just didn’t know what to tell you. When you introduced us, he never said a word and I hadn’t done the math yet. I thought it was your baby until I got my due date. You got locked up before I could tell you myself. I’ve been so consumed with how to save you without losing myself that I… I never once even considered you being told any other kind of way.”
Still sitting there head down Gene never moved an inch. When she saw the first tear fall from his face, his ears turning red so brightly she knew for fact the red would soon cover his face. This time tears streaming down her own as well Niecy continued, “It wasn’t fair for you to find out this way. He was a one-night stand, something I’d never done before. I’m so in love with you Gene, Box never stood a chance, you or no you. God gave me what I wanted and needed when I found you. Nothing like the men I was raised knowing, so much like my father, and still everything he never was! You are my gift; we will have a child. You said your wife. You said forever, we’re both still young… let me be the woman to you I’m meant to be. My I love you is real Gene.”
His gaze cold and fixed, he turned it on Frankie and Rose who both stood quietly in the background. “So, this why y’all came to see me early!” He shouted, jarring Frankie from thought and running a chill down Rose’s back as Eugene had so many times just before she took a beating. Instantly Rose chimed in, voice full of parental authority. “You either turn that volume down or you walk away. You out here sounding like yo father. You hear what I said boy! Your father!”
Before she could continue, Gene was up banging the glass to begin being escorted out by, not two, but three correctional officers that had been assigned him considering their last incident. Just before they entered Niecy tried again, this time feeling pains in her stomach sharp enough to cause her to feel short of breath. “Gene, baby I can’t lose you. I don’t know how to fix this.”
To which he turned his head sharply, believing that the odds of this being impossible he replied. “You want my forgiveness… Get me the fuck out of here before I kill yo baby’s father.” Just then they shackled him and walked him back to his cell block. Having been immobilized by pain Niecy sat trying to force herself to breathe. If it was getting him out that he needed to see to believe her love for him was real. She was committed to showing him exactly that. Seeing the pain on his baby’s face Frankie asked Rose to walk her out and to the car, to which she obliged. While still in the building Frankie waited to see Elite again and waved her to him.
“How can I help? You know I’ll do anything for you old guy.” As she stood awaiting instructions. Frankie had asked for all the details regarding Brandie’s visit. Elite gave him exactly that, in grand detail confirming the story he’d been told by Box. Jade was now a protagonist, one that he’d have rather not have added to the story. In that moment Frankie asked for a personal favor. “The boys have to work this up to survive, you want them home. So does my baby girl, hell, the boys themselves want to come home. It may come to blows but I need them to have the time to bump it out if they need to. Think you can do it?”
“Yeah, I’ll work it out, but can you do me a favor. Tell your daughter that I said. If she ends up in too deep with this Jade thing cause she looks a lil’ green to me. I’m in love with Box, I want him home.” As if no words had been exchanged, she casually walked back into the facility and Frankie to his car. As he approached the car all he could hear was his daughter’s cries, pure agony is what it sounded like.
“Braxton Hicks?” He asked as he opened the door and sat down in the already running car driver seat. Frankie, intent on knowing whether Niecy was in labor, decided to go ahead and take her to the hospital. At the point that they arrived she had endured more than an hour worth of labor pains. Her body had become clammy, with sweat, small spurts of blood on his back seat. Scared to move her Frankie burst breathlessly thru the emergency room doors like this was his baby she’d be delivering, “Somebody help my daughters pregnant and bleeding in my back seat.” Then with a bewildered look he continued almost speaking to himself, “She’s got to be early, she’s only maybe 8 months pregnant…”. But before he could finish a nurse and two EMT’s were rushing out the door to her. A borderline frantic Frankie waited on them to get his child under control before going into Daddy mode to find out what in the world was going on.
Niecy had always been an extremely independent child, so he was a little less than surprised to find out that she had been told she had a short cervix. Recognizing that he was the only one present to ask the most important questions. First what was going on with Niecy? And lastly would she and the baby survive the complications? Seven hours into her labor, as her fellow nurses shared their concerns for her safety, Frankie decided to call the only two people he could about it. First he called Elite so that the boys could find out what was happening and then he called Rose.

Time and her brother’s mistakes had shown Ty firsthand the benefits of enjoying her own company. If she wasn’t alone, she was with Meli who was currently injured and unable to cater to her emotions. Moving fast enough no one saw which way she turned as she drove off in what was the only way she could guarantee she hadn’t been followed. She’d gone to her look out and watched the sunset with a bottle of Hennessy as company. About halfway through the bottle, Ty decided she wanted company and went to her n Meli’s favorite spot Thoroughbred Strip.
As she entered, she found a table off to the side of the stage where she’d be able to put her back to the wall and sat down. Pockets known to be swollen or tied in knots, the minute she walked in and sat down, three different women walked up one of them bouncing one cheek at a time in front of her to the song booty me down by K-Stylist. By the time she got to her first drink she’d had her first lap dance from a thick chocolate goddess with lips drawn to perfection on her face.
The way she moved was just enough to steal Ty’s attention. She never even saw Gabrielle in the background watching as the chocolate goddess and her consorts attempted to keep Ty busy. All three working Ty together, bouncing enough ass to have been leading a sing along. Gabrielle watched the forced look of enticement hit Ty’s face, allowed the women their moment, but as Ty completed her third double shot and the third song lead into the fourth Gabrielle calmly made her way to the DJ booth.
Sliding the DJ a $20, she walked to the back not expecting, Black Barbie, the woman once with friends. Barbie whispering in Ty’s ear in Gabrielle’s absence, “come on.”. Then grabbing Ty by the hand led her to a private room just as Fuck It Up by Tank ascended into the background. Barbie told her to sit on the couch against the wall as the DJ announced Iconic to the stage as the main dancer for tonight’s set.
To Gabrielle’s surprise when she got up there Ty was nowhere to be found. She found herself dancing as if Ty were watching, as though her hands were on her in that moment. She had all but closed her eyes when she felt the money start to hit her back cascading down her thick thighs like a skier on the slopes. In her mind hoping and praying to see a drunk Ty when she turned around instead there stood a man, she’d only seen a few times before. Though she didn’t know his name she knew he wasn’t someone she wanted to deal with. But the knot of money she saw him continue reaching for had her undivided attention, so she turned over slowly pulling herself to the edge of the stage.
