My insides tremble with desire as I imagine the kind of dessert he has in mind. But there’s more I need to say. “I can’t promise I won’t get scared and freak out again. I can promise I’ll get up, dust myself off, and keep on trying, because I love you, Finn.”
“I’m going to have my moments too, and I won’t stop trying either.” He leans in close to me. “I know in my heart we were meant to be. And we’ve got the rest of our lives to figure this out. I love you, Meg.”
Emotions fill me, and my chest is tight with the power of my love for him. I grab his face to kiss him again. I’m going to take this chance I’ve been given and hold on tight, no matter how scary the ride gets, because I plan to have the time of my life.
