Kylie’s Boot Door Sign
A door sign makes an announcement for you. It says, “This room is my space.” Your visiting friends or rodeo fans will always be able to find you!
You will need:
paper
pencil
ruler
scissors
.2-inch (5-centimeter) thick pink foam sheet, about 8x9 inches (20x23 cm)
black permanent markers (thick and thin)
silver foam sheet
foam glue
large rhinestone
thin ribbon
hot glue
optional:
pink glitter glue
sequins
Draw a boot shape on paper, about 7 inches (18 cm) by 8 ½ inches (22 cm). Cut out. Trace onto pink foam. Cut out the boot shape from the foam.
With the thick black marker, draw a heel and a sole. Add boot decorations, using the thinner marker to draw stitching.
Cut out a spur with a starburst end from silver foam, about 3 ½ inches (8.9 cm) by 1 inch (2.5 cm).
Use hot glue to attach the spur to the boot and the large rhinestone to the spur. Let dry.
Hot glue each end of a piece of thin ribbon to the top back of the boot.
Optional: Decorate the boot with pink glitter glue and hot glue sequin accents. Let dry. Write your name on the spur to personalize.

Kylie-Style Bag
My horse, Star, loves this craft because it has pony beads. Every cowgirl needs a bandana bag with fringe. I made mine with a pink bandana. Choose your favorite color!
You will need:
20 to 22-inch (51 to 56-cm) cloth bandana
pen
ruler
fabric scissors
thin ribbon
optional:
about 100 pony beads
On a flat surface, fold the bandana in half with wrong sides together and the fold at the top. Line up the edges.
Starting at the fold, draw a straight line down both sides of the bandana, 4 inches (10 cm) from each edge. Along each line, mark every ¾ inch (1.9 cm).
From the bandana’s edge, cut inward through both layers at each ¾-inch (1.9-cm) mark to the line you drew (leaving the top fringe wider). Lay scissors on its side, and cut the fold line to the line you drew. Repeat on the opposite side. Each side now has fringe.
Down both sides, tie each pair (front and back) of fringe in a double knot. Leave the pair on each side that is farthest from the fold untied.
Grab the untied pair of fringe on one side and tie in a double knot with one end of the ribbon. Flatten the ribbon, and repeat with the other pair of untied fringe.
Optional: Add two beads to the end of each tied fringe. Tie in a single knot over the second bead.
Lucky Purse
Show everyone how much you love being a cowgirl with this lucky purse. You can even carry your allowance. A cowgirl can never have too many purses!
You will need:
paper
pencil
ruler
scissors
2, 4x5 inch (10x13 cm) pink foam sheets
4x5 inch (10x13 cm) silver foam sheet
pen
60 inches (152 cm) clear plastic cording
optional:
jewels or rhinestones
Draw a horseshoe shape on paper, about 3 ¾ inches (9.5 cm) by 4 ¾ inches (12 cm). Cut out. Trace only the outer arch of the horseshoe onto both pink foam pieces. Trace the entire horseshoe onto the silver piece of foam. Cut out the shapes from all three pieces of foam.
Stack the silver piece on top of the two pink pieces, lining up the edges. Use the pen to poke holes through the silver foam, along the sides and bottom of the piece. Each hole should be about ¼ inch (.64 cm) apart and ¼ inch (.64 cm) from the edge. Set the silver piece aside.
Using the marks left from the silver holes as guides, poke holes in the first pink piece. Repeat with the second pink piece. Restack the three foam pieces, lining up the edges and holes.
Trim the cording ends to a point. Fold the cording in half, and mark the center point. String the cording down through all three layers of the bottom center hole. Pull the cording until the mark on the cording lines up with the hole. String the cording down through the layers of the next closest hole. Continue around one half of the horseshoe. String the remaining cording through the holes on the opposite side of the horseshoe.
Trim the tail ends of the cording on each side to 12 inches (30 cm). Tie the two ends together in a knot.
Glue the inner edge of the silver foam to the next layer of pink foam.
Optional: Glue jewels or rhinestones onto the silver horseshoe.

Star Struck
You’ll be happier than a horse in hay if you make this adorable pony that looks like my horse, Star. I love to make the horse’s legs move and pretend I’m riding.
You will need:
6x6-inch (15x15-cm) piece of poster board or lightweight cardboard (like from a cereal box)
pencil
scissors
yellow acrylic paint
paintbrush
markers
metal nail
2, ¾-inch (1.9-cm) paper fasteners
thin ribbon
glue
wiggly eye
optional:
fuzzy yarn
glitter glue or puffy paint
Hint:
For a more realistic look, place movable legs higher than the ones attached to the body.
Draw a horse on cardboard, about 5 ½ inches (14 cm) by 5 inches (13 cm), with only one front and one back leg. Draw a separate front and back leg, including the upper muscle. Cut out the horse and the legs.
Paint the horse yellow (may need two coats). Let dry. Decorate with markers, adding a saddle, bridle, nostril, mouth, and waves in the mane and tail.
Position the separate legs in place. With an adult’s help, push the nail through the top of each front leg to create a hole. Repeat with the back legs. Set the nail aside.
Push a paper fastener through each of the holes. Open it in the back to secure.
Tie the ribbon in a double knot around the horse’s muzzle. Join the ribbon ends over the horse’s back, and tie in a knot.
Glue on a wiggly eye. Let dry.
Optional: Glue on pieces of fuzzy yarn for a mane and a tail. Let dry. Add glitter glue pen accents and rhinestones to the bridle and saddle. Let dry.

Rodeo Rope Frame
Round up and reuse an old frame for this craft. You can choose a photo for your frame and personalize it too. I put a picture of Star and me in mine!
You will need:
wooden picture frame (any shape)
hot glue
thick jute rope
scissors
silver foam
foam glue
optional:
markers
pink glitter glue
rhinestones
Remove the glass and backing from the picture frame. Set aside.
Beginning at the inside edge of one side of the picture frame, place a line of hot glue. Carefully press the rope into it and hold until the glue sets.
Continue around the frame in a spiral until most of the frame is covered. Cut off the extra rope.
Cut four stars from the silver foam. Glue one onto each corner of the frame. Let dry.
Replace the glass and backing, and add your photo.
Optional: Cut out a silver foam rectangle. Decorate it with markers and pink glitter glue. Glue it to the frame. Let dry. Add rhinestone accents.
Barrel Racing Pencil Holder
I’m already a rodeo queen, and sometimes I have to sign lots of autographs. I can use this pencil holder for all of my pens and pencils. Then I’ll be ready!
You will need:
safety glasses
9 hinged wooden clothespins
2 rubber bands
clean plastic yogurt container
thin ribbon
scissors
ruler
hot glue
glitter glue
Wearing safety glasses, remove the springs from the clothespins by lifting and twisting apart.
Place the rubber bands around the container.
Slide clothespin halves under the rubber bands with the thicker part of the pins at the top of the container. Place the top rubber band in the groove of the clothespins. Continue around the container until it’s covered.
Cut two pieces of ribbon to wrap around the clothespins with a little extra to overlap at the ends. Glue ribbon down over the rubber bands, overlapping the ends.
Place dots of glitter glue on the ribbons 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart around the entire container.
Star Pencil Topper
This is the cutest craft project! I can’t believe it, but it’s better than my pink pen. You’re going to want to use this precious pony pencil all the time.
You will need:
adult-sized knit glove
fabric scissors
fiber-fill stuffing or cotton balls
pencil
rubber band
thin ribbon
2x1-inch (5x2.5 cm) piece of felt
hot glue
wiggly eyes
black
