“Sure is. She was telling him about getting a tattoo. She claims it didn’t hurt at all.”
Susan sighed. “When you have children, if it’s not one thing, it’s another.”
“At least you don’t have to worry about diapers anymore.… What was that noise?” Kathleen asked as a scream followed by loud laughter floated out of the dining room.
Susan hurried toward the commotion without stopping to ask questions. Only one thing in her house caused shock and laughter simultaneously. She yelled as she went, “Clue! Sit!”
“Actually, she’s already sitting,” explained the first guest she ran into that wasn’t choked with either laughter or food.
That was true, Susan discovered. Clue was sitting right in the middle of the tablecloth she’d pulled from the dessert table, lapping up every goodie she could find. “Oh, no! What are we going to do?” Susan wailed.
“Why not have a glass of champagne?” Jed suggested, handing her one, “and then we can wish all our friends a very happy New Year.”
