Whimpering, he thought he would vibrate right out of his skin. “Duncan, what?”

Something trickled down his chin and dripped onto Duncan’s chest, mingling with the white ropes of Kyle’s spunk. Reaching up, he swiped a trembling hand over his lower lip and pulled it back to see blood smeared on it. Without even feeling it, he had bit his split lip, causing it to bleed again.

  “Move up here.”

Duncan tugged on Kyle’s cock, encouraging him to straddle the man’s shoulders and presenting the flared head of his prick at just the right angle for Duncan’s mouth. All the air in Kyle’s lungs rushed out when Duncan swallowed Kyle’s cock down to the root, burying his nose in Kyle’s pubes.

Moving his other hand to Kyle’s ass, Duncan flexed his fingers and signaled that he wanted Kyle to move. Kyle reached above them and grasped the headboard for balance as he started to fuck Duncan’s mouth. The flick of Duncan’s tongue over his spongy head before pushing into his slit forced a groan from Kyle. Sweat trailed down his chest to drip onto Duncan’s face as Kyle moved. The suction Duncan created each time Kyle pulled out crossed Kyle’s eyes and demanded that he come again. The amount of pearly liquid wasn’t nearly as much as the first time, although he still managed to give Duncan some to swallow.

Slumping forward, he rested his forehead on the wood of the headboard and watched Duncan lick him clean. After that, Duncan pinched his ass to get him to move. He rolled over onto the bed and stared up at the ceiling, trying to calm his breathing. The mattress dipped and Duncan stood, stretching with a small grimace.

“The sex probably wasn’t good for your back,” Kyle admitted, wanting to sound apologetic, but not doing a good job of it.

“Don’t worry about me. You did most of the work. Your rubdown helped a lot. I’ll take a hot shower after you head out and that should loosen the muscles even more.” Duncan wandered to the bathroom where he cleaned off his stomach.

Kyle flipped over onto his stomach and laid his chin on his folded hands, watching Duncan get ready for bed. The man filled the doorway, his broad shoulders almost touching the frame on either side. A wide chest tapered down into a narrow waist and a gorgeous bubble butt tempted Kyle to reach out and pinch. After Duncan finished brushing his teeth, he rejoined Kyle in the bed.

“You’ve got some time to nap before you head back to your room.” Duncan wrapped an arm around Kyle’s waist and dragged him tight against his chest. “I’ll make sure you don’t over sleep.”

Sleeping was the last thing Kyle wanted. Savoring the heat emanating from Duncan, he traced the scars marring the man’s hands. Duncan had been a calf roper as well as a bull rider.

“What made you choose to ride bulls full-time?”

“The money. There’s a fuck-load more money in riding bulls than any other cowboy sport. I’ve got bills to pay, debts to take care of, and a grandfather who should’ve retired a long time ago.”

It all came down to family. Kyle understood doing anything to help family, though he had a feeling Duncan’s grandfather didn’t beat him when he got drunk.

“Are your bulls a different way to make money?” He entwined his fingers with Duncan’s, loving the strength in the man’s grip.

“No. We’ve always raised bulls, but just got the right kind now. They’re showing a lot of promise. Maybe someday I’ll be able to stop riding and raise bulls instead.” Duncan’s hot breath caressed Kyle’s neck when the man sighed. “It’s a dream anyway.”

Kyle’s brittle laugh broke over the dark room. “At least you’ve got a dream. I don’t have any plans except to stay out of my father’s way.”

“Oh, I’m sure if you thought about it, there’d be something you wanted to do that doesn’t involve your family.”

He never had a chance to think of anything. He’d been on the road, traveling with his father since he graduated from high school. For some reason, his father didn’t want him staying at the ranch with Momma. Of course, he was the one who kept Clayton and Rusty’s equipment clean and in shape for the competitions. He also kept them organized enough to get from event to event. He drove them during the week, while the other two slept off their late nights and alcohol.

Silence filled the room and he didn’t feel like breaking it. There was something comforting in lying in Duncan’s arms in the dark, listening to the man breathe.

He didn’t know when he fell asleep, but he woke up to Duncan shaking him.

“Wake up. You have to get back to your room, Kyle.”

Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes and glanced at the clock. It was one-thirty. Plenty of time to get back to the room, take a shower, and slip into bed before Rusty got back, if his brother even came back. Sometimes Rusty hooked up with a buckle bunny as well and didn’t come back until it was time to leave for the arena.

Duncan offered him a hand and tugged him out of bed into his arms. Kyle slipped his arms around Duncan’s waist, hugging him tight for a moment. Easing back, he looked up and smiled.

“Thank you for the best night of my life.”

“There’ll be more. I’ll make sure of it.” Duncan leaned down and brushed a quick kiss over Kyle’s lips. “Now get out of here before I forget why I can’t tie you to my bed and fuck you the rest of the night.”

“Shit. The way you talk.” He blushed at how hot Duncan’s crude words made him.

“You like it. I can tell by the way you blush and how hard you get when you hear them.” Duncan escorted him to the door.

He held back while Duncan opened it and checked the hallway. It was foolish to worry about his father so much. Kyle was an adult and could do what he wanted, but at times, Kyle felt trapped by the love and fear he still had for his father, even though the man was an abusive drunk who treated him like shit.

“It’s all clear. I’ll watch until you get in the room safe.” Duncan gave him another kiss before sending him out into the hallway with a little pat to his ass. “I’ll see you later at the arena.”

  “Ah…”

“Don’t worry. I won’t let on that I know you. I’m not on your father’s list of friends.”

“No, you’re definitely not.” Kyle was glad Duncan seemed to understand and didn’t think any less of him.

He strolled down the hallway, and knowing Duncan watched him, he put a little more sway into his walk. A low groan reached his ears, and he smiled. After unlocking his door, he turned to blow Duncan a kiss. The older man nodded and disappeared back into his room.

Kyle slipped inside and leaned against the door. Disbelief coursed through him at the memory of what he’d dared that night. God, if his father ever found out, the man would kill him for sure, but for once, though he was afraid, he hadn’t let the fear rule him.

Pushing away from the door, he stripped, folding his clothes neatly and putting them in his suitcase. While his father and brother could be slobs, he couldn’t be. It took so much effort to clean up after them that he didn’t waste time on himself.

Flipping on the bathroom light, he stared in the mirror and smiled. He’d have to be careful about getting dressed or undressed when his father was around. Bruises covered his hips from the strength of Duncan’s grip. Kyle ran a fingertip over one of them and shivered, remembering how full he was with Duncan’s fingers buried deep in his ass. The warm, moist heat of Duncan’s mouth was something Kyle wanted to experience again.

Ten minutes later, he slid under the blankets and stared up at the ceiling. What would it be like to spend the entire night with Duncan? He imagined a future where that was possible until he fell asleep.

  Chapter Four

A heavy hand landed on Kyle’s shoulder, shaking him awake. He peered out from under his lashes to see Rusty standing over him.

“Come on. Get the hell up. Dad wants us at the arena in an hour.”

Sitting up from the pallet he’d made on the floor, he leaned against the side of the bed and glanced around. No evidence his father had come back to the room at all. Rusty buttoned his shirt and searched around for his boots.

  “When did you get in?”

Rusty shrugged. “About two hours ago. Spent the night with the sweetest little cowgirl. She was a spitfire in bed.”

Kyle grunted in response, not really wanting to hear about his brother’s sex life. Girls had never interested him except as friends. Rusty stood, snatched his hat off the dresser, and headed for the door.

“I’ll meet you downstairs in thirty minutes. Don’t be late.”

He waited until the door shut behind Rusty before he climbed up off the floor and snatched up some clean clothes. He checked the clock. It was almost noon. Shit, he’d never slept in that late. Well, he’d never had as late a night as last night before either. Whistling softly, he brushed his teeth and got ready to face the day.

Grabbing his father’s equipment bag, he said a silent thank you to Rusty for taking his with him when he left. That didn’t always happen. Sometimes he had to lug both bags down to the truck.

After checking to make sure he had the key to the room and to the truck, he left. They were staying here one more night and would hit the road to the next event in the morning. Give his father another night to fuck whatever pretty young thing he could find. Kyle didn’t know why his mother stood for that. She had to know what his father was up to when he competed.

  “MacDonald.”

He jumped and turned, almost hitting Duncan with the bag. Thank God, the man was agile enough to jump out of the way.

“’Morning.” He nodded, trying like hell not to stare at the man’s mouth.

“Getting a late start, huh?” The small lift of Duncan’s lips told Kyle he knew why Kyle was running behind.

“Yeah. Slept later than usual. How about you?”

The elevator dinged and they stepped into the car, Duncan holding the doors until Kyle maneuvered the bag in. Duncan pushed the lobby button for them before leaning against one of the walls.

“I’ve been to the arena already, checking on the bulls. Saw your brother come in when I left.”

Kyle nodded. “He got in about two hours ago. Father never showed, so we’re supposed to meet him at the arena.”

  “Hmm…”

Duncan didn’t say anything else, and Kyle appreciated it. They stayed quiet as they rode down, more cowboys joining them as they stopped at each floor. All the guys greeted Duncan with brisk camaraderie, and ignored Kyle except to nod at him. Kyle didn’t take any of it to heart. They recognized him from seeing him at the events, but to be able to call him by name would be difficult for most of them. He wasn’t the most outgoing guy and making friends wasn’t the easiest thing for him.

Each new person in the elevator brought Kyle and Duncan closer together, so by the time they made it to the lobby floor, they were standing right next to each other, and Duncan trailed his hand over Kyle’s hip, letting him know Duncan hadn’t forgotten what had happened last night.

The cowboys spilled out of the elevator, and Kyle emerged last, carrying the bag and trying not to hit anyone with it. Most of the people in the lobby knew bull riders and stayed out of Kyle’s way.

“Maybe I’ll see you at the arena, MacDonald.” Duncan tipped his hat slightly and moved off.

Rusty grabbed Kyle’s arm and jerked him in the direction of the parking lot. “Come on. What took you so long? Dad’s going to be pissed if we’re late.”

“We won’t be late, Rusty. Calm down.” Kyle tossed his father’s equipment in the back seat of the truck cab and climbed in, handing the keys over to Rusty. “Just drive and stop worrying. He won’t drink before an event, so we’ll be fine.”

“You need to watch yourself, Kyle. He’s furious at you for talking to Hornsby last night.” Rusty turned the truck on and the big V8 engine roared to life.

  “Did you tell him?”

His brother nodded. “He asked why you were late and I figured either one was going to piss him off, so it didn’t matter what I said.”

  “Thanks a lot.”

Rusty shrugged. Better Kyle getting a beating than him. Kyle knew that was what his brother was thinking. Unlike some families, there wasn’t a lot of loyalty between brothers, though Kyle couldn’t really blame Rusty. His brother spent more time with their father than Kyle did. It was easier not to have the man angry at him.

They got to the arena in plenty of time, and Kyle carted the stuff to the room where the riders dropped off their equipment and got ready for the show.

“It’s about damn time you two showed up,” Clayton grumbled as they walked in.

Duncan came in behind them. “MacDonald.”

Kyle’s father ignored him, and Kyle flushed, embarrassed and angry his father would treat anyone like that, not simply because it was Duncan. He started to say something, but Duncan caught his eye from behind his father and shook his head.

“Kyle, go get me some coffee.” Clayton shoved Kyle toward the door. “I need something to wake me up.”

“Late night, MacDonald?” one of the other riders called.

“If there’s a girl willing to keep me up, then there’ll always be late nights.” Clayton smirked.

Some of the cowboys snickered, but Kyle noticed that a few of them shot disapproving glances at his father. It was nice to see that not all of them thought being on the circuit meant free rein to fuck anything with two legs.

  “Kyle.”

The tone of his father’s voice warned him and he edged out into the corridor, heading to one of the vendors he knew sold coffee. His cell phone rang while he pushed his way through the arriving crowd. Tugging it out of his pocket, he checked the number.

With a smile, he answered it. “Hey, Momma.”

“Hey, baby boy. How’s it going?”

“Same ol’ shit, totally different day,” he said, stepping out of the flow of traffic to lean against one of the walls.

Momma laughed. “Kyle, watch your language.”

“Sorry, ma’am. How’s the ranch and Benjy?”

“He’s pining for you. Silly horse stares down the driveway, waiting for you to come home. The ranch is doing well. Jose wouldn’t let anything happen to it.”

His mother’s voice changed when she mentioned the ranch foreman’s name. Were his mother and Jose having an affair? Kyle didn’t blame either of them.

  “I know, Momma.”

Duncan walked past him, head turned as the man chatted with one of the other riders. He sighed, hoping he would get a chance to taste the man’s mouth again.

“You sound tired. Is your father making you do all the work for him and Rusty again?”

“Why else does he bring me with him? It isn’t because he likes me.”

“Oh, Kyle, your father doesn’t even like himself.” Momma paused for a second. “Why don’t you come home? He and Rusty are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. I could use you here at the ranch.”

He rested his head on the wall and closed his eyes. “I’ll think about it.”

“Good. I love you. I’ll talk to you later.”

  “’Bye, Momma.”

Punching the end button, he shoved the phone back in his pocket and pinched the bridge of his nose. Going home sounded good, yet a small part of him didn’t want to consider it. Now that he’d gotten a little action with Duncan Hornsby, any opportunity for more would be lost if he left.

  “Here.”

He jerked his head up while accepting the Styrofoam cup of steaming coffee Duncan handed him. Shooting a quick glance around, he made sure there wasn’t anyone around who might rush back and report to his father.

“Don’t worry. Your father and his cronies are holed up in the equipment room, trading buckle bunny stories.” Duncan grimaced. “Not my style, even if I were into girls.”

“Thank you.” He held up the cup. “I better get it back to him before it gets cold.”

“Are you staying tonight or heading out?” Duncan kept his gaze on the crowd rolling by them.

“One more night here. We head out tomorrow morning. Father’s probably got a date set up for tonight after the short go.” Kyle clenched his jaw, stopping the flow of angry words wanting to pour out.

“Will Rusty go out as well?”

Kyle shrugged. “Depends on if he finds some girl to fuck or if he decides to catch a ride with someone else to the next event.”

“Well, I’m here one more night as well.” Duncan shot him a quick wink. “You know my room number.”

Before he could think of a reply, Duncan strolled off, drawing not only Kyle’s attention to his ass. The women Duncan passed checked him out as well, and Kyle thought he noticed a few guys doing so as well. A swell of pride tore through him. That drop-dead gorgeous man had just issued an invitation to Kyle to come to his room and this time it would be more than Duncan sucking his cock. If Kyle could get there, it would be a night of Duncan riding Kyle’s ass like he owned it.

For the first time in his life, Kyle had the possibility of a hook-up. He found himself hoping his father and brother both found women to sleep with. He practically floated back to his father, doing a good job of keeping the silly grin off his face. It wouldn’t pay to let his father know something was going on.

The event went off with a hitch. His father rode well enough to take second, but Duncan took the whole event, which pissed Clayton off. Kyle stayed out of his father’s sight until the man stomped off with some bleached blonde, big-breasted woman in tow. Kyle packed the equipment bags and dragged them out to where he’d parked the truck.

“Shit.” He dropped the bags to the concrete next to him and frowned. The truck was gone.

Rusty, the bastard, had taken off, leaving him to find his own way back to the hotel.

  “Did they leave you?”

Turning, he nodded, while propping his fists on his hips. “It certainly looks like it.”

“You can catch a ride with me.” Duncan gestured to where a black Silverado was parked.

“Thanks.” He picked up one bag.

“I’ll grab that one. I already threw my bag in the truck.” Duncan grabbed the other one with a slight grimace. “That stuff you gave me works really well. Even after riding tonight, I can barely feel the strain.”
