The Irish Don's First Christmas, page 7
part #2.50 of The Irish Don's Black Beauty Series
That night Christmas became more than just a day where I learned the value of spendin’ time wit’ me family. It became the day where me son made me the proudest Da in the world. By the time I shower and make it back tu bed I was, as me wife says two-stepin’ tu the R&B version of “This Christmas” that she listens tu on repeat. Lying there I close me eyes, happier than ever.
“Where have yu been Conner?” I pull her into me arms and kiss her eyes closed.
“I just had tu take care of some business. Go back tu sleep.” She snuggles into my chest sighin’.
“Okay. Thank you for everything Conner, Christmas was perfect.”
“I’m glad Beauty, now go tu sleep.”
“Mkay…oh yeah I stopped taking birth control two months ago so I’m pregnant. Merry Christmas.” My heart drops in my stomach and I feel as if I couldna breath.
“Are yu serious?” She looks me in the eye and smiles.
“Yup remember when I had food poisoning?”
“Aye.”
“That was morning sickness.” I want so bad tu get up and run around the house shoutin’ we’re pregnant, but since I know she’s tired and carryin’ precious cargo I settle fer a deep kiss and a promise tu meself tu do it tomorrow.
“Thank yu Beauty, Merry Christmas.”
