Her father, who blinked back. “Jordan? Baby?”

All three werecoyotes wagged their tails in unison.

  “Boy?”

“Lots of math and weird anima shit,” King Henry didn’t even start to try to explain it. Didn’t even know if he could. I killed the man who could.

  It cannot end like this!

Get fucked, Obadiah. You’re ash and I’m still standing. World’s mine. This family is mine.

The JoJo coyotes did a lap around the den, prancing theatrically like they were show dogs all sweet and fluffy and not cat killing varmints needed a BB gun taken to them.

“Well, I’ll be dipped in horse shit,” Old Man Price gave just about the only reaction you could to your daughter pulling that trick on you. “The statue is nice and all, King, but . . . I think your sister wins.”

This pleased Vega very much. JoJo too, he guessed, since two of the coyotes formed a platform for the third coyote to jump on top of.

Everyone clapped, Old Man Price hardest of all.

Well, what you know? Some things do change. Like Old Man Price finally learning the truth of his wife and about his three children. Some things change . . . like the Price family coming together for the first time in forever and hey, a few punches and a few kids but no one was bleeding. Some things change . . . Valentine Ward—somehow—part of the family and fitting in just dandy.

But other things . . . like King Henry Price not being able to stop himself?

  Eternal.

Some things change, but others will always be the same.

Like the Foul Mouth not being able to keep his foul mouth shut.

“Hey, Little Sis, now sniff your own ass!”
