“How about you go with him? Keep him out of trouble, child,” Grandma said.

“Who’s going to take care of the children?” Kat smiled down at Carnelian and BC.

“Douglas boards for a minimal fee,” Bart answered.

  “Then, I’m gone.”

“I hope to never see this place again,” Dayton commented.

Ken slapped Dayton on the back. “This place grows on you, Detective. You’ll be back.

“Not in a month of Sundays.”

“Let’s get you to Anchorage and see how long it takes to see you again.”

Alese Bricken watched as Kat, Ken and Dayton walked down Main.

“He will be back won’t he?” Josiah said.

“Oh, yes. And I can hardly wait to see how he’s going to react when he does.” Alese smiled. “I’ve seen so many come to Ravens Cove and leave. Then there were those who came to the Cove, and it wouldn’t let them leave.”

“And you think this place has called to Dayton?

“Oh, yes. He doesn’t know it, but the Cove is beckoning him home. He’ll answer.” Alese took Josiah’s hand. “Let’s get you some of the coffee you like so much.”
