“To whom have you stated it?”
“When someone else had brought it up and inquired my thoughts,” she states hesitantly.
He cups her chin and kisses her. “You have been a pleasant distraction every time.”
“I thought you called it entrapment,” she recounts.
He grunts. “It was.”
“Was?” she snickers.
“Who knew my Pirate Queen would turn out to be my siren of the seas,” he chuckles.
“She is your queen now,” she goads.
“That, she is,” he affirms, kissing her.
The baby begins to fuss.
“What is wrong?” Mr. Jackson asks.
“Either he is hungry or needs to be changed,” she replies.
“How do you know?”
“I’ve been around enough children,” she reminds. “Eleanora and now young Charles aside from the many I’ve met when I was with my Aunt and Uncle.”
He reluctantly hands the child to his mother. It takes a second for him to latch onto her breast.
“So, that’s how they do it,” Mr. Jackson says, staring at the feeding child.
“No different than a cow or—“
“Do not equate him to an animal,” he scoffs playfully.
“It is the way nature works, dear,” she giggles. “You of all people should—“
“Devilish witch,” he goads.
“Pirate Queen,” she reminds.
“Same thing,” he snorts.
“Would you have me any other way?”
“Never,” he says with a kiss to her forehead.
“Same for you my Lord Demon Squid.”
