He was a sucker for a boy using sexy, sultry whispers while calling him Daddy. Especially a sweet, smart, beautiful boy like Mattie who had grinding on Jake’s hard cock down to a fucking science. Mattie was going to be the death of him, but what a fucking way to go.

They’d made out heavily, but he’d kept his wits about him by the skin of his teeth. He forced himself to stop after they’d both gotten worked up and nearly came in their pants with all the frotting friction going on. He wanted Mattie to have something to look forward to, and he wasn’t above edging them both, but especially his boy, until he was crazy with need.

When it came down to it though, what he’d really wanted was to keep Mattie there with him that night, just to hold him in his arms while they slept, but earlier in the evening Mattie had admitted he didn’t know if he was ready to be in a relationship with him.

When they finally slept together, even if it was just for cuddling, he wanted Mattie to be one hundred percent certain it was exactly what he wanted. Jake didn’t think his boy was that far off, but he decided to err on the side of caution just in case Mattie had any niggling doubts or second thoughts.

He was brought back to the present when the boys exited the building and walked towards his SUV with boxes in their hands. Jake went to help them, his voice a little grumblier than he’d intended it to be when he said, “I thought I told you to eat and relax.”

Carter blushed and glanced at Mattie, who huffed. “We’re fine to carry some of our own stuff down to your car.”

Jake grabbed Carter’s box and gave Mattie a stern, narrow-eyed gaze, until his boy sighed and put his own box on top of Carter’s. “The elevator is broken and if you put an ounce of weight on those handrails in the stairwell, you’d end up breaking your neck. I’ll get the rest. Why don’t you both do a sweep of the apartment one more time and make sure you got everything you need and cleaned everything you wanted to clean.”

Carter smirked at Mattie. “I told you so.”

Mattie rolled his eyes and managed to do a damn fine job of keeping the happy smile off his face, but Jake saw it in the boy’s eyes before he turned a glare on both of them, turned around, and threw his hands in the air as he headed back into the building. “Gods save me from overprotective, worrywart Daddies and know-it-all besties…”

Jake chuckled, knowing his boy was both pleased and exasperated at the situation and it amused him no end. He knew was doing his job right if his protective instincts had put the tiny smile on Mattie’s lips before he’d made a show of being irritated.

If Mattie was brave enough to tell him he liked to be coddled, Jake was going to be damn sure he proved he could be exactly the Daddy Mattie needed. Soon enough he had the rest of their things packed in the back of his SUV and they were on their way over to their townhome.

Jake was excited and nervous for their reactions to the new place and everything Jake and Sammy had done to fill it with anything the boys could possibly need. Sammy had gone a little overboard, always a fan of spending Jake’s money. And he’d admit to himself he may have gone overboard with the shopping he’d done as well.

The boys had worked with Cash to find renters to sublet their place so they wouldn’t have to break the lease. He’d tried his best convince Mattie to let him buy them out of their contract, but Carter and Mattie both refused.

In the end it worked out because Cash’s property management company was able to find reliable renters. The boys had spent the last two days packing their stuff and cleaning everything so their new tenants would have a clean place when they moved in.

When he pulled up in front of the townhome, both boys gasped. “Please tell me that whole thing isn’t for us.”

Jake smirked at Mattie’s aghast plea. “No. It’s a duplex, which is why it has two front doors. Half is yours and the other half is owned by Cash as well, so he may sell it or keep it. I dunno.”

Mattie shook his head the whole time Jake was talking. “No. We can’t. Jake, we can’t live here. There is no way Cash is charging us enough to live in this type of place. It’s too much, too nice, too big, too pretty, too every damned thing!”

Jake turned to check for Carter’s reaction and found the boy’s mouth and eyes wide open. “Look, boys, this is a done deal. You’re packed up and you have people moving into your place this weekend to take over your lease. The agreement on the price of rent has been made and you signed the contract.”

“Cash would let us out of it. I bet Liam could convince him.” That came from Carter who said it in a quiet voice Jake had a hard time hearing.

At that Mattie was nodding as he pulled out his phone. “Yeah. That’s a good idea.”

“No need to call them. They just pulled up behind me.”

Carter and Mattie scrambled out of the car and beelined it to Liam as he stepped out of the passenger seat of Cash’s car. He had a mile wide smile on his face and as soon as they headed his way he was jumping up and down and clapping. “Isn’t it pretty? I’m so excited for you guys. And I’m so happy you’ll be safe. You don’t even know how guilty I was feeling and this just… I’m just relieved.”

Jake watched Carter and Mattie’s shoulders slump in defeat, and while he hated they were feeling that way, he was happy Liam had hit them with a dose of reality and the reason why they had to move in the first place. He shook Cash’s hand, and they watched as Liam slid in between Mattie and Carter and they all hooked arms and walked towards the front porch together. Fucking adorable subbie boys.

“This is such a great neighborhood and there’s a very fancy security system in there. And three whole bedrooms and two and a half baths. I begged Daddy to bring me over here last night to bring my housewarming gifties. They’re on the bar in the kitchen. Think of the boys’ nights we can have!”

Jake raised a brow at Cash. “Let me guess. You had a chat with your boy on the way over and told him he needed to save the situation before things went to shit and the boys said fuck it and started looking at cheap places again?”

Cash sighed, gripping the back of his neck. “Actually, I had quite the speech planned to do just that, but as soon as we got in the car my sweet boy said he needed to make sure to remind the boys why they were moving in the first place because he knew as soon as they saw it, they’d balk.”

“You got a smart boy on your hands, Cash. He’s gonna keep you on your toes, old man.”

Cash punched him playfully in the arm. “Fucker.”

Jake threw back his head and laughed as he walked to the back of his SUV to open it. “They don’t have much stuff, so hopefully the boys will be distracted by everything in there and Liam will show them around long enough for us to get it all inside.”

With Cash’s help, they quickly had everything moved into the foyer then headed back towards the kitchen, following the boys’ voices. “Oh, and there’s a pantry, look.”

Jake and Cash walked in as Liam opened the pantry door, so they were both privy to the gasps the boys let out when they looked inside. “Wait! Why is this fully stocked? We can buy our own foo—the fuck?! What are all those?”

It was Jake’s turn to be chagrined as Mattie pointed at the kitchen gadgets he’d purchased for them. He’d gotten out of control and bought them everything he could think of. Then he’d called Sammy, told him what he’d gotten them, and got a few more suggestions.

All three boys turned his way. Mattie with a scowl on his face, Liam trying to keep from laughing, and Carter looking bewildered and overwhelmed. He figured admonishing his boy for cussing wasn’t the way to go so he shrugged. “I didn’t know what you’d need so I just got everything I could think of and then Sammy suggested a few more things and…well…”

He gestured ineffectually towards the ridiculously stocked pantry, which was also meticulously organized with everything decanted and put in fancy plexiglass organization containers of varying shapes and sizes, with fancy metal baskets to hold the overflow and everything labeled. Because…Sammy.

They’d have been hard pressed to find another kitchen gadget out in the world. Mattie scrubbed his hands over his face and growled. And Jake was nearly successful at keeping the grin from his face because even the boy’s growl was fucking adorable.

“Wipe that smile off your face. Jake, what the hell? I told you not to go overboard. Jesus, I didn’t even want you to get us anything, let alone everything!”

Jake raised his hands and shrugged. “You try telling my assistant no.”

Speaking of, the front door opened and slammed shut. “Hello, hello!” Sammy called out from the foyer. “How perfect is this place, huh? I’ve never had as much fun spending Jake’s money. Not to mention the unboxing, decanting, and organizing…”

He walked in the kitchen hands clasped together under his chin, a blissed-out expression on his cute face. “It was the stuff dreams are made of. So much fun.”

He passed Cash and Jake giving them both a playful wink, then walked towards the three boys and waved, a wide grin on his face. “Hi, I’m Sammy and I just had to come over and see how excited you were about moving into this absolutely stunning townhome. I mean… I decorated it; I should know.”

He sighed and turned in a circle taking in the whole bottom floor, which was an open layout. “Isn’t it wonderful? I have half a mind to move in with you guys. Maybe just show up with my bags one day soon.”

Sammy giggled, but the thought gave Jake pause, realizing it wasn’t actually a bad idea and might work out perfectly for everyone involved. Jake raised a brow and glanced at Cash who was smirking at Sammy. Cash was well acquainted with his assistant and knew what a bundle of excited energy he was. It was hard to stop a moving train, and that was Sammy to a T.

  “So, who’s who?”

Liam stepped forward, the first one to recover from the whirlwind that was Sammy. “I’m Liam.”

“Ahh, Cash’s boy. It’s great to meet you. I’m Sammy, Jake’s right hand. Probably his left hand to.”

Liam chuckled and pointed at the other boys. “These are my besties, Mattie and Carter.”

“Aren’t you all just so gorgeous? If you have any subbie parties, I might have to crash them. I like hanging out with pretty boys.”

“You’re a sub, too?” Mattie’s brows rose, focusing on the one thing he could make sense of in his mind at the moment, no doubt.

“I’m a little, yeah. I met Jake at one of the BDSM clubs years ago on what was, for me, a really shitty night. He made it all better and here we are. You want a full tour?”

Jake could see the “he made it all better,” comment went over like a lead balloon with Mattie, if his scowl was anything to go by. And Jake knew that fact shouldn’t make him as happy as it did. He bit his cheek to keep from smiling at Mattie’s show of jealousy. “Sammy.”

His assistant whirled around and grinned at him. “Yeah?”

Jake rolled his eyes and tilted is head, raising a brow. “Maybe you want to clarify your statement about that night when I ‘made it all better’ for my boy, Mattie here. Hmm?”

Confusion clouded Sammy’s eyes, but Jake saw when he finally got it as he burst into guffaws and turned to Mattie. “Jake and me? Oh, honey, no. Your Daddy is one of the best men I know, but he’s not my type and I’m definitely not his. He is not equipped to handle all this.” He used his hands to gesture from his head to his feet, ending it all with a hand on his hip. “Not to mention, I’m a little and that’s not his thing.”

Jake let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding when Mattie’s lips twitched, his frown gone from his face and a little smile taking over his beautiful, plump lips. “Okay, so you guys weren’t an item. How did he make it all better?”

“Well, see, I’d been fired from my admin job that day because my gay, asshole boss’s boyfriend of the month didn’t want anyone as fabulous as lil’ ol’ me spending all day, every day with his man, who was as vanilla as they came by the way, so there was absolutely no danger of that happening anyway.”

Sammy hopped up on the center island in the kitchen making himself comfortable. Jake chuckled to himself and leaned against the kitchen counter, loving the rapt looks on the three boys’ faces.

He remembered that day like it was yesterday. He’d seen Sammy, dressed in his little clothes, go into the playroom and didn’t see anyone following him in. He gave it about fifteen minutes thinking his Daddy would show up. But when he didn’t, Jake couldn’t sit there any longer and went to check on him.

Using his hands to gesticulate, Sammy continued, “And then I went to the club to meet a Daddy Dom for a first date, after we’d been chatting online for weeks. He was going to let me be a little and then buy me dinner at the club afterwards. But he stood me up. So, there I was crying, sitting on the play mat alone with my Legos, the only boy in the playroom, when Jake peeks in the door and sees my pitiful self being all weepy.”

Jake met Mattie’s gaze and the boy blushed to his roots at being caught watching him and turned back to Sammy as the boy continued. “So, he grabs a box of tissues from one of the tables and says, ‘Hey, little man. Mind if I sit down with you for a while? Maybe we can play Legos together and you can tell me what’s wrong.’ How sweet is that? Like seriously, such a Daddy. So, I nod my head and he came over, sat down on the play mat, started building something with my Legos, and listened while I poured my heart out.”

All four boys glanced over at him, captivated, and he found himself blushing under the scrutiny. Jesus. Since when did he blush for fuck’s sake? Sammy looked at the other boys and snickered at their expressions. “So, when I’m done crying into my tissues and making an all-around fool of myself, Jake says, ‘Well, I’m not the type of Daddy you’re looking for, but I might be the type of boss you’re looking for. I’ve been looking for a personal assistant and with you being an admin, it might be a good fit. But I’d need my PA to basically manage my whole life, rather than just my business.’”

Sammy raised his arms in a “ta-da” like fashion, even giving his hands a little jazz hands wiggle. “So, here I am. Best job ever. Best boss ever. And he let me run wild in here for you guys. It was so fun.”

Mattie’s shoulders slumped even while he smiled at Sammy’s excitement. “But it’s too much. This doesn’t feel right. We didn’t ask for any of this. We didn’t do anything to earn it. I don’t even know what all those gadgets in the pantry do. I don’t know how we’ll ever pay you guys back for this.”

Sammy hopped down from the counter and wrapped his arm around Mattie’s waist. “You won’t pay it back. That’s not what they want and it’s my fault for going overboard. Plus, all that makes you a good guy and the kind Jake deserves. But here’s the thing; Cash and Jake have, like, stupid amounts of money and they like helping people. It makes them feel good and now they know you’ll be safe so that makes them feel loads better. Plus, he didn’t ask me to get all this. I did that on my own because I like spending his money even more than he does.”

Jake smirked at the truth of Sammy’s words. But he didn’t mind that one bit because Sammy put Jake’s money to good use in the community with various charities, so he wasn’t about to complain.

“I know it’s overwhelming, but you’re here now and so are your things, so maybe just try not to worry too much over the expense because it wasn’t even a blip on Jake or Cash’s financial radars. Okay? Now, why don’t we let the Daddies deal with all your boxes and I’ll give you the grand tour.”

Jake saw the reluctant expression lingering on Mattie’s face and knew he needed to address it himself, in private. Holding out his hand towards Mattie, he waited until the boy clasped it and he tugged him towards the foyer, far enough away they wouldn’t be heard. Jake pulled his boy into his arms; thankful Mattie hugged him back.

He kept Mattie in his arms as he murmured into his ear. “I know it’s a lot. I’m sorry Sammy went overboard, but I just told him to get everything he thought you boys would need.”

“I know. I get it. It’s just so much.”

“I understand.” Jake sighed. “When you mentioned Carter likes to cook and bake, I asked Sammy to make sure he’d have everything he needed for the kitchen. When you’re with me at my home, I want Carter to feel at home here and be happy and safe in his new space. And maybe you guys can get another roommate so he’s not alone. Hell, Sammy would probably love to move out of his brother’s place, so if you guys hit it off, that might be a possibility. Do you think you can think of this as home?”

Mattie sighed and snuggled into his chest and Jake finally relaxed, knowing Mattie wasn’t going to push back. “Yeah. How could I not? It’s gorgeous. I’ll just have to find new and inventive ways of thanking you.”

Jake chuckled. “Now that sounds promising.”

Mattie snorted and pinched Jake’s side. He was so happy Mattie wasn’t angry, he decided not to tease him for snorting again. He really was magnanimous that way.

“So, you obviously trust and like Sammy as your employee. Do you think he’d fit in with us?”

Jake pulled back, surprised Mattie was taking his comment seriously so quickly. “I think Sammy is a bundle of energy and sweet as can be. He has literally kept my life and Joshua’s life in order, not to mention helping out with admin work at the shop when needed. He loves his brother but he doesn’t know Sammy is a little and Sammy is scared to tell him. So, I know anywhere he’d want to move he’d need to feel safe to be able to be little when he needed to be, so if that would bother either of you, he might not be a good fit.”

Mattie met his gaze and smiled the sweetest smile Jake had every fucking seen. It was so beautiful, Jake’s heart squeezed just seeing it aimed at him. “Then I think he’d be the perfect fit. We’d never shame him, and he’d be safe being who he is here with us.”

Jake reached up to clasp Mattie’s chin, tilting it up for a kiss. “So why don’t you take the day to get to know him. Talk to Carter and see if it’s something he’d be okay with. If you both want to do it, then let Sammy know. But there’s no pressure for you guys to offer that to him and if it isn’t the right fit, then I’m sure I can find him a place that’s suitable. I want you both comfortable and at home here, so that’s the most important thing. Springing a new roommate on you, and a stranger at that, wasn’t on the agenda. I wouldn’t have even thought about it if he hadn’t joked about it himself.”
