Ending a story is hard. Nerve racking even. Hayley and Xavier may be fictional characters, but they’re very real to me. I knew going intoPainted Red, I had big expectations. It may not fit what you thought the story should end like, but that’s the funny thing about being a supernatural realism writer—nothing ever ends the way you want it to.
Hayley, Xavier, Aisley and the other characters you met along the way may appear here and there in the coming year. But their journey together has come to an end. From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank all the people who stuck with us these past three years.
