“Anna what if I fall on the way to the willow tree?” I ask while my heart races and my breathing shallows.

“Oh sweetie, you won’t fall. Plus your dad will be there walking right next to you holding you up,” she says and I breathe a little easier remembering I will have Dad right there beside me when I walk toward Colt.

“What if I forget my vows?” I ask.

“The celebrant has a copy of them on hand to help if you forget, but don’t worry hun everything is going to be fine. What happened to the calm woman we all saw this morning?” Anna says.

I stop for a second and just admire the beauty of the dress. I smile and take a deep breath. It doesn’t matter if I fall or forget my words. All that matters is that by the end of the day I will be Colt’s wife. I start to relax again by taking in deep breaths.

“I’m okay just had a moment of panic, but I’m fine now. I’m marrying the love of my life and nothing can ruin that,” I say and everyone smiles.

“Exactly, now let’s get you in this dress before you start to panic again,” Sia says and she walks over, taking the back of the dress and undoing the hidden zip. I take off my robe to reveal my lingerie for tonight and the girls giggle while Joseph wolf whistles. I roll my eyes at them suddenly feeling embarrassed.

“Wow Lia, if I was straight I would totally have a hard on right now,” Joseph says.

“You’re a dick,” I say and he nods taking my hand so I can step into the dress. I place one foot inside followed by the other. Anna and Sia pull it up then Anna zips me up while Sia ties the sash around my waist. All the nerves and concerns flow away as I look down at myself in my wedding dress. I suddenly want to cry as an overwhelming sense of happiness engulfs me.

“Hey, I know that look. I spent an hour putting your makeup on, don’t you dare cry it off now,” Kira says. I take a deep breath and walk toward the mirror.

“Lia, you’re not a Princess anymore, you’re a Goddess,” Joseph says and I smile. I turn and look in the mirror and my hair is pinned up in a messy style, and my makeup is simple yet stunning. I really do look pretty even if I say so myself. I bite my bottom lip and notice my heart starting to race when I think of what Colt will look like in his tux. I haven’t seen the style he’s chosen, but I know no matter what he’s wearing he is going to look perfect. And I know he’s going to love me in this dress. I smooth the dress out with my hands and just take it all in. I’m getting married, soon, to the man of my dreams. Nothing could spoil this moment.

My mum walks in and the instant she sees me she starts crying.

“Mum stop, you’ll make me cry,” I say as she reaches me and hugs me tightly.

“Oh, Delia sweetheart, you look simply stunning,” she states and she hands me a small box. I look at her with a raised eyebrow and she smiles at me. “It’s from Colter, he told me to give it to you when you were getting ready. He says it’s your something blue.”

I walk over to the bed and sit on the edge and open the box with my mum and bridesmaids watching on. I pull out the tissue paper to reveal a white and blue garter, a blue pin for my hair and some stunning blue earrings. The earrings are more a shade of purple which matches the colour scheme of the wedding. I smile brightly and pull out the garter and show everyone. It’s lace with blue ribbon threaded through it, it’s very sexy. Everyone chuckles at Colt’s choice of garter and I shake my head slightly as I study the hairpin. I notice that it’s intricate in design and he obviously had it made especially because in blue stones is the inscription L & C. It’s so small but such beautiful detail that I instantly tear up. He’s put a lot of thought into this and I can’t help it as my heart beats slightly faster. I take a deep breath controlling my emotions and look at the earrings, they’re perfect. Really simple, small and elegant. This just proves that he knows me so well because they’re exactly what I would’ve picked.

“Wow, he knows how to spoil you doesn’t he?” Mum says and I nod and smile, holding out the garter for someone to put on me. Anna steps up and takes it from me and then places it on my leg, sliding it right up so it won’t fall down.

“Right, now we just have to put the jewellery on and we’re ready to go,” Sia says taking the earrings from me and placing them quickly in my ears. I stand up and Kira places the pin in my hair and then Joseph walks over with my bouquet.

“You ready to get your man, Goddess?” he asks.

“Hell yeah.” We start the walk downstairs and toward the back of the manor gardens. As we get to the back door, my heart is racing a million miles an hour and all thoughts of face planting come flooding back.

“Don’t worry, Delia, I have you,” Dad says from nowhere. I look up at him and he smiles so brightly it makes me smile. “You look stunning, darling. He better look after you. It’s not too late to pull out if you’re having second thoughts. You’re my girl, Delia, you know that,” Dad says and I giggle.

“I know and he will. No one has taken care of me like, Colt. No one except for you, Daddy.”

“You called me, Daddy,” he says and Mum smiles at me.

“Yeah, I think today I need my daddy by my side, and my mum,” I say and they both lean in and hug me. Then Joseph joins in the hug and we all laugh. Then Anna, Sia and Kira all join in the hug. I look around the room at my dearest friends and family and they all look amazing. Joseph in his tux and the girls in their lilac dresses. Everyone looks immaculate and I honestly am just so anxious to see Colt that my hands are sweating.

“Okay c’mon, we’re already running late. Take me to my man, Daddy.”

Anna makes a quick phone call letting them know we’re starting the walk down and to start the music. I loop my arm in Dad’s and we all walk outside to the bright, beautiful day. I look toward the back of the garden and I can see the willow tree by the lake and I instantly wish I could kick off my heels and run toward him. I take in the scenery surrounding me and the grass has a long red carpet walkway. I grin when I see it and remind myself to thank Anna for not letting me walk on the grass in heels. Leading up to the willow tree I can see white chairs either side of the aisle and there are flowers everywhere with light lilac and white flecks all through them. It looks amazing and Anna has done a wonderful job. I can’t see Colt because he’s under the tree and we’re too far away right now, but we start the walk toward the willow tree and I can hear a string quartet start to play.

“How you doing?” Dad asks as we make the long walk down the red carpet.

“Finally nervous, but so happy Daddy,” I reply and he tightens his hold on my arm. We arrive at the edge of the aisle and my heart is hammering through my chest. I notice all the people and they stand when they see me. The photographers start taking pictures as Joseph walks down first followed by Kira, Sia and then Anna, who kisses me on the cheek just before I start my walk toward my future husband. I suddenly hear a loud humming noise and we all look up at the same time to see a helicopter flying above us. I shake my head and roll my eyes. Bloody paps can’t give us one day. We didn’t even announce it to anyone other than our close family and friends, so I don’t know how they found out where we are having the wedding and when. I can feel a little anger wash over me until Dad walks me forward and I look across and then I see him. Colt is looking so ruggedly handsome in his black tux. Everything is black, black suit, black shirt and tie, the only colour is the lilac David Austen rose in his jacket. The sight of him all dressed up like this knocks the air from my lungs. I struggle to catch my breath. He’s staring at me and biting his bottom lip. I can see the love, and lust in his eyes as he quickly blinks a few times and moves his hand to his eye to wipe away a stray tear. That sets me off. I bring my hand up to dab at my eye and he smiles so brightly that the world couldn’t be a more perfect place right now. My heart explodes with undying love for him and I can feel the powerful current flowing between us even though I’m still a few feet away from him. I can hear people ooh-ing and aah-ing as I walk past them, but I don’t see anyone except for Colt, and I can see in his eyes that he sees no one but me.

I step up and his eyes leave mine for a brief second to thank my dad. They shake hands and Colt reaches out for me. I place my hand in his and he pulls my body against his. My breathing hitches as he undresses me with his eyes. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist while we stare at each other. The guests begin to chuckle amongst themselves at our apparent lack of inhibitions.

The celebrant clears his throat and leans in toward us. “You’re meant to stand apart a little bit,” he whispers and Colt chuckles.

“Mate, I’m not letting her go,” Colt replies and then leans in kissing me quickly.

I giggle against his lips and kiss him back. The guests’ chuckle again, we have no self-control when it comes to being together.

“You look… I have no words, baby,” he whispers and I bite my bottom lip.

“If we could perhaps get started?” the celebrant states as the photographers we allowed into the ceremony take plenty of snaps.

“Right, sorry. Please go ahead,” I say and Colt nods.

The ceremony takes place and we hold onto each other the entire time, body to body, every inch of us touching each other. We don’t have a conventional bridal party, so why do we have to have a conventional ceremony with the bride and groom standing a foot apart?

It comes time for the vows and I’m so glad Colt is going first because I’m so nervous about remembering mine.

I look into his eyes and I can feel his heart beating against my chest. It’s racing and I can tell he is as nervous about this as I am.

“Delia Norman, I take you to be my wife, lover and friend.

“I take you to be mine and mine alone.

“I will love you forever as I love you now.

“I promise to love and care for you and I will try in every way to be worthy of your love.

“I will always be honest with you, kind, patient and forgiving.

“I will love you as we grow and change.

“I will love you when we are together and hate it when we are apart.

“I will cherish your friendship and I will honor your goals and dreams and help you to fulfill them.

“I will comfort and encourage you, laugh with you and stay honest with you.

“I will be in love and make love with you every second I can, and I promise I will love you, until the end of time.”

I swallow the lump in my throat and hold back the tears that are forming freely in my eyes. I don’t even know if I can talk after hearing those words from him. His grip around my waist tightens and I sniff and lean in kissing him softly.

The celebrant clears his throat as the guests’ chuckle again. At least we’re giving them a good show. I pull back and he smiles at me brightly. I clear my throat and say the words to him that I mean with every fibre of my being.

“Colter Slade, I take you to be my husband, lover and friend.

“In your eyes, I have found my home.

“In your heart, I have found my love.

“In your soul, I have found my mate.

“With you, I am whole, full, and alive.

“You make me laugh. You let me cry.

“You are my breath, my every heartbeat.

  “I am yours.

  “You are mine.

  “Of this we are certain.

“You free me to sing my own song.

“You are more of an amazement to me, and each day I rediscover you.

“You are lodged in my heart, until the end of time.”

He sniffs and leans in kissing me again and the celebrant groans loudly making everyone laugh. The helicopter keeps buzzing above us and another one looks like it will be joining it soon because I can see it in the distance flying this way. I thought it would annoy me more than it is, but I’m not letting anything ruin this day for us, not even the paparazzi.

“Now we exchange the rings,” the celebrant says and I frown slightly knowing Colt will finally have to let me go. We take a step back from each other, but our hands come together as we wait for the celebrant.

“Now Delia repeat after me… With this ring, I thee wed,” he says and a thrill of excitement flows through me and I almost jump on the spot. Colt notices the look in my eyes and smiles brightly.

“With this ring, I thee wed,” I repeat and take the ring from Anna and slide it gently onto Colt’s wedding ring finger. I exhale, it fits perfectly. He looks at it and tightens his grip on my hand.

“Now Colter, repeat after me… With this ring, I thee wed.”

He takes my hand and it’s shaking slightly, not from nerves but from pure elated excitement.

“With this ring, I thee wed,” he repeats loudly making me giggle as he slides the ring effortlessly onto my finger. I can’t hold back my tears any longer as one slides down my cheek. He moves in and caresses my cheek wiping the tear away.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the celebrant states and Colt doesn’t wait for the next bit, bringing me into him and slamming his mouth to mine.

“You may now kiss the bride,” the celebrant says sarcastically and everyone laughs. His tongue slides over mine for the first time as man and wife and I couldn’t feel happier. We’ve been through a hell of a lot to get to this point, so many ups and downs but we always find our way to each other. That’s because we are meant to be. I have found my ‘one’. The guests cheer and clap as we stand there holding each other and kissing like there’s no tomorrow.

“Seriously guys save it for the honeymoon,” Hux says slapping Colt on the back making us part. I mourn the loss of contact as soon as Colt’s mouth leaves mine, but I know without a doubt that I will be able to have his mouth against mine for the rest of our lives.

After the ceremony, we went off for photographs while the crew set up the reception back under the willow tree. Joseph and Danny are having the chef from one their restaurants cater, so I know the food is going to be amazing. Colt and I can’t keep our hands off each other as we take some photos with Princess Sofia. The rest of the bridal party all laugh at us as we continuously kiss and touch each other and Princess joins in licking us on the face as we kiss for the photos. Finally, the reception is set up and we head back toward the willow tree, by now, it’s just gone sunset and it’s starting to get dark. I can see there are now fairy lights sprinkled throughout the tree and lanterns light the pathways for people to walk. There’s a makeshift dance floor to the right of the tree next to the lake and there are petals all over the grass surrounding the tree where the tables for our hundred guests are to be seated. It looks breathtaking as it all glimmers against the dark night sky.

“Anna, you’ve outdone yourself,” Colt says while we all walk in to greet our guests.

  “I know.”

We drink champagne, we dance, we kiss, we dance some more and just when I think things are starting to settle down for the night a spot lights up next to the dance floor that I didn’t notice was hidden by a black curtain.

“Okay, it’s time guys,” Anna says to the band who are huddled in a group by the makeshift bar. Colt nods and they all put down their drinks and walk toward the curtain. It drops to reveal all their instruments and microphones and amplifiers. I smile brightly as I realise Slayed is going to be performing at my wedding. Anna and Sia come running across to my side and they drag me right up to the front of the dance floor.

“Hey, everyone thanks so much for coming today to celebrate my marriage to the most beautiful woman in the world. Lia baby, I love you more and more every day and I know this song has special meaning for us so I wanted to sing it for you tonight,” Colt says and I bite my bottom lip knowing exactly what he’s going to play for me.

‘Until the End of Time’ starts playing and everyone here sings along with Colt as he belts out those magic words to me once again. Words about how he thought he was going to lose me and him confessing his love for me without actually saying the words. It seems so long ago, and now that I look back on it, him not being able to tell me he loved me made it even more special when he proposed and finally said them to me. Sometimes things are just worth the wait.

He finishes the song and I run up to him and kiss him strongly. I love it when he rocks it out and I have missed seeing him perform, he’s so fucking sexy when he does. And rocking it out in a tux, well let’s just say my lacy lingerie is soaking wet.

“I love you,” I say and he chuckles.

“I love you too, Mrs. Slade. Now do you want me to play some more or do you wanna head upstairs?” he says with a smirk purposely turning the microphone away from him so the guests don’t hear.

It’s a tough choice and I actually stand there thinking for a few seconds, but I decide to let him play some more. I get off on it anyway so I may as well hear him entertain our guests and later we can consummate our marriage, and trust me, we will!

Slayed play a few more songs and we all dance on the dance floor to our favourite tunes until they’re done for the night. Then Colt comes back down and joins me on the dance floor and we sway together to The Bangles ‘Eternal Flame’ as the night gets colder and later.

Colt leans in and kisses me softly. “This day has been perfect. This night has been perfect. You, my wife, are perfect,” he says kissing me again. He pulls his lips from mine and looks over his shoulder to where a security guard is tapping him on the shoulder.

“Sorry to interrupt, sir, but you told me to let you know if there was any trouble,” the security guard says and I feel Colt tense instantly while I figure today was going too smoothly for something not to happen.

  “Sure, what is it?”

“There’s a man and woman at the gate claiming they were invited to the wedding, but they don’t have their invitation. They are quite adamant that they want to get in, sir,” the guard says and I crease my eyebrows wondering who it might be. “They both seem to be intoxicated, sir, and they tried to climb the walls of the front fence.”

“Do you know their names?” Colt asks and the security guard looks down at his notepad.
