As the light finally shifted to green, I pulled forward through the intersection and caught myself whistling a happy tune. The morning’s fortuitous turn of events had come as a complete surprise, but I was overdue for a win. All told, the final score for the week was two headline arrests, one awesome new assignment and one free lunch, which included a complimentary wash and fold laundry service! Yeah, it was really incredible how my luck had changed all of a sudden. You know, some people might look at me and say I was living a charmed life, but that’d just be jealousy talking. My own personal opinion? I think it was all just the natural result of clean living and good karma.
