Patty's Homecoming, page 18
part #1 of Montana Wranglers Series
Sticking the bacon in his mouth, he chewed and stared down at his plate. “I’ll think about it,” he said. “That’s all I’m promising at this point. I’ll consider it today and make a decision in the morning. Not a moment before.”
“Sounds good to me. Besides, I’m stealing you away today. No work today. Today is just Blake-and-Patty day.” She grinned happily. “I think that you and I are going to have a good time, going and searching for new frilly underthings for me, taking in a movie and having a nice lovely dinner together. Yep, I like the plans we have. A lot.”
“A movie too?” he asked, not looking thrilled at the prospect. “Just what exactly are you planning on making me sit through?” He looked her way. “Because, if it’s something that has the entire theatre in tears, I’m going to go find a bathroom stall to hide in.”
“Yes, a movie too,” she said with a smile. “I don’t care what the movie is, I just know that I need you to just spend some time with me. Hell, it could be some action flick for all I care. As long as you are there I’m totally happy.”
“Hmm.” He lifted his cup to sip at the coffee. Tapping his fingers on the counter, he dug in his pocket and pulled out his phone. When she made a grab for it, he caught her hand and dialed anyway. “Corbin, yeah…what?” He frowned then rolled his eyes. “No, she didn’t have me tied to the bed. No, you pervert, geez! Do you honestly kiss your mother with that mouth? Shut up and listen, you idiot. Can you cover tomorrow? Nah, she wants to go lingerie shopping and catch a movie. I promised her dinner too and she mentioned grabbing a hotel. But if I have to work…” He trailed off and then just made grunts and various other sounds. “Talk to you later.” He hung up and slipped the phone into his pocket and picked up his cup again.
Patty looked at him. “Come on. Are we going to have a nice lovely night out with a hotel room, Jacuzzi, and all that fun stuff? Please tell me that we will?” Funny how she didn’t know she wanted that until that moment, until she had mentioned it to him.
“You’d better decide where we’re going shopping,” he said with a lazy shrug. When she poked him, he chuckled. “Yes, we’re going to have a night in a hotel of your choosing. So figure out where you want to go and we can find a hotel and make a booking.”
She laughed. “Good.” She smiled. “I want this night alone with you. I know that it’s not fair to Corbin. Another time we will go out, he and I, but for now I want and I need this night with you.” She loved both men equally, but first she wanted this night with Blake.
“He’ll want to hit up a car show, just warning you,” he said. He poured them both more coffee and sat back with his cup, chewing on the last of his bacon. “And I wouldn’t take him shopping, for anything. He tends to get seriously immature as soon as he spots a pair of underwear.”
That had her laughing. “The car show I can do, but if he’s going to be juvenile when hunting for some new panties for me then he will just have to sit out on that part of the good times. And it would be, by the way, totally good times.”
“The last time we were in a mall, which I think may have been Christmas, God help us,”—he let out a shudder—“he spotted one of those trendy lingerie places. The fact he wasn’t arrested for his antics was pure luck, that and the mall cop thought he was cute, if immature. Male mall cop by the way.” He grinned and snickered.
She laughed, “Oh God, that’s…Oh wait.” She hesitated. “He’s the one that sent me that corset nighty two years ago isn’t he? Oh God, that’s too freaking funny,” she said with a grin. “I will have to find that and try it on, make sure that he knows I still have it. I almost tossed it but I saw that the return stamp was from Montana so I was hopeful that it was either you or him, but I didn’t toss it or try it on,” she said honestly. “I kept it, but didn’t put it on. Weird, I know.”
“That was from him.” He nodded. “I didn’t even know he’d bought it or sent it until he told me about it three days later, about the time it would have arrived on your doorstep. I smacked him upside the head when he said he forgot to put the card in though. So I may, maybe, owe him a small apology for that.”
“No, that silly man. What in the hell was he thinking?” she asked with a laugh. “But we won’t remind him. He still likely thinks that I’ve tossed it or something.” She shrugged. “And that’s perfectly fine with me. If he thinks that I tossed it and then I show up wearing it he will lose his mind.”
“He doesn’t tend to think when he gets near those places. He goes to an odd little juvenile place, flirts with everything that’s got the right parts and ends up walking away with what he wants at a really good price. That’s the only thing I will give him, he’s never had to pay sticker price.”
“That’s impressive, but I would rather pay ‘sticker price’ instead of having my guys flirting with those girls, if you know what I mean?” she asked with a grin. “I’m sure he’s walked away with more than his fair share of phone numbers too, hasn’t he?” Not that she could complain. She hadn’t been there, since it was the past. And the past was just that. The past.
“He has a book of the collection,” he said with a chuckle. “One of those photo albums, all the little bits in there with corresponding business cards from the various places so he knows who, what, and where. As far as I know, he’s never once called any of them. I think it’s more a game for him to collect them.”
“That man is too funny. Lordy. Maybe I should take him to one just so that the women could see that he’s now very, very taken and there is not a chance in hell for them to have a shot at him.” Okay, so she was really, really possessive.
“Or we could just brand him across his forehead with taken, might be simpler,” he said with a chuckle. “And so much less effort for you to ensure you got them all. Because it’s in every shop in any city he’s ever been in.”
“Oh lordy, that’s too funny,” she said with a laugh. “Well whatever happens, happens. It’s all good. I honestly don’t mind. As long as they don’t touch him, that is,” she added. “Because he’s mine and I might have to break a bitch for touching either him or you.”
“Me?” He looked at her and frowned. “Darling, they all flock to him, thank God. I’m just the sucker that gets dragged along to observe the silliness that occurs. I don’t even think they notice I’m there actually.” Shrugging, he sipped his coffee before getting to his feet.
“Oh, honey, I seriously think you are wrong there. I am positive that people not only notice you but need to talk to you. I don’t know why they don’t, but you are an impressive man. The way that you are, everything about you is stunning. I happen to really love all that there is about you and if they don’t talk to you it’s their loss.” She would take him and keep him, forever.
“As long as I have you, babe, that’s all I need.” He smiled. Picking up their empty plates, he headed for the sink. “Why don’t you grab a shower and get ready? Once I have everything in the dishwasher we can head out for wherever it is we’re going.”
“Sounds good to me. Want some help?” Patty asked from where she sat. “I might not be able to cook but I can do dishes like a champ. How about I help you with them so we can leave sooner?” She just plain wanted time with him. She hadn’t thought about what they would do, just that she wanted him to have a day off.
Looking to her, he nodded. “I’d like that,” he said softly. Holding out a hand to her, he tugged her closer when she gave him her fingers. “You are beautiful,” he said in a low tone. Kissing her gently, Blake pulled her up against him tighter.
“And you are an amazingly handsome man, Blake,” she said with a smile. “Now, let’s get these dishes finished so that we can take off. We will take an overnight bag with us but not much more than that. All we need is each other, right?”
“Just clothing for dinner, toothbrushes, and a change of clothing for tomorrow to come home in. Other than that, you will be naked the entire time. So no, we don’t need anything more than that.” He nodded.
“Sounds like a damn good plan to me.” Patty grinned happily up at him. “Especially the naked part. That’s my favorite part of all of this.” Heck, maybe if she were lucky he would bring her back to the hotel for dessert, sans clothing of course.
He lifted a brow and smiled slowly. “What are you thinking?” he asked with a chuckle. “You have this expression, I’m not even sure how to describe it. Sort of wicked with a hint of lust and something else. It’s very intriguing and makes me what to know what you just thought about.”
“I’m thinking that I really, really want to have dessert in bed with you, naked.” She teased with a smile. “I really and truly think that I would love to have you licking dessert from my naked body darling, don’t you think you would enjoy that?”
“Sorry, you were saying something?” He blinked with a grin. “I heard bed and naked and the rest kind of got lost in the buzz in my head.” Licking his lips, he moved closer to her, dipping his head so his breath fluttered over her lips. “I’ll do anything you want as long as those two tempting details become facts.”
She laughed. “Yes, I love those two details. We will go out for dinner but the dessert will be in our hotel room. We will both be naked. You will eat off of me and feed me as well. I really think that is a good idea, don’t you?” she asked with a smile.
“We’ll have to pick something we’ll both like and something that works at just below or right at room temperature. We don’t need to give you frostbite or burn anything important we all love off. Which, if I ever decide to let you have your turn, I’d like you to also keep in consideration,” Blake told her.
“Don’t worry, love, I will never allow anything to harm you. I wouldn’t let anything hurt you just as you would never let anything hurt me.” She only wanted him to be happy, to know happiness and joy, and that would happen only with both of them taking care of the other.
“You’re thinking again, serious stuff now.” He tapped a finger between her eyebrows lightly. “You get all wrinkly here when you are worried or overthinking. Want to tell me what’s going through your lovely head this time?” He drew back and began to scrape the dishes before stacking them in the deep sink.
“That I would never do anything that would hurt you,” she whispered. “I would never do anything at all that would cause you hurt or pain, you do know that right, honey?” She asked quietly. “Please tell me that you know that, right?”
“Hey.” He set the last plate into the sink. Wiping his hands on the apron he was still wearing, he stepped close to her. Backing her to the counter, he lifted her up and eased between her legs. “I know you wouldn’t, Tish.” Looking up into her face, he rubbed his hands up and down her thighs. “Just like you know that Corbin and I would never do anything that would cause you pain, or hurt you. You love us and we love you,” he said with a smile.
“I know that.” She let out a breath and sighed. “I’m really very happy that you feel the same way that I do, babe. I’m very happy that you wouldn’t hurt me as I wouldn’t hurt you.” She breathed quietly and wrapped her arms around him to pull him closer. “I do adore you.”
Chuckling softly, he slid his arms around her waist and gave her a hug. “Why are you worrying about this, darling? Something has to be bothering you to bring something like this up. I was only teasing you, you do know that right? Some like pain in their encounters but I am not one and I know you don’t like it either. And I’m not talking a little slap on the rump now and again.”
“I don’t know. It’s just you mentioned making sure there was no pain and for some reason I got into my brain that you had a thought that I would hurt you. I wouldn’t ever hurt you.” She knew he would never hurt her either, which was even better.
He watched her with a serious expression and nodded. “And we’re okay now?” he asked, rubbing a hand up and down her back. “We’ve talked it out and know that we’re good, that neither of us would do anything to hurt the other. It’s all okay, yes?”
“Yes, we are good and okay now, babe,” she said with a smile. “Now how about you come a little closer?” She pulled him closer. “And kiss me? I really like that idea, you kissing me.”
“Can’t get any closer, darling,” he chuckled softly. He slid his hands up her back and pushed a hand into her hair. Tugging her head back a little, he brushed a kiss to her lips gently. “I do like kissing you though. The possibilities that come from a kiss are always interesting,” he whispered, his breath sliding over her lips.
“I happen to agree,” she whispered and licked her lips. Moving in closer to him, edging to the edge of the counter as far as she could get, she wrapped her legs and arms tighter around him. “Kissing does bring such amazing results, doesn’t it?”
“It does at that,” he said, his eyes lighting with heat and need. “Are you wearing anything under this shirt, love? Panties? Shorts? Anything that might be considered a hindrance to my sudden and nearly uncontrollable desire to take you right here?”
“Not a single solitary thing,” she said with a grin. “I am just wrapped up in your shirt, not a thing less. Why, you gonna make me scream?” she asked hopefully. “Because if so, I’m all for that one! I would love to have you inside of me, moving and loving me again.”
“I was thinking about it, but you need to unwrap for a minute so I can ditch this apron. As good as I look in it, it’s really not necessary any longer. Only during cooking of bacon. I learned the hard way that bare flesh and cooking bacon is a bad, horrifyingly painful mix.”
“Yes, even though I would kiss and lick it, babe, I don’t think I want you hurting, at all,” she said with a smile. She began to undo her buttons and watched him as he did so. Her fingers stroked up and down her chest, spreading the fabric of the shirt as she did so.
He licked his lips as he got rid of the apron, practically tearing it off before tossing it over his shoulder. “You have the most amazing breasts and those nipples—fucking stunning.” Leaning in, he caught one just as she exposed it, sucking it into his mouth while running his hands up her sides.
She let her hand wrap around Blake’s head and held him to her breast. Arching back, she moaned when his teeth scraped her breast and shuddered. “I love that you love my nipples as much as you do.” Corbin loved to tease her pussy, licking and giving it attention where Blake always zeroed in on her breasts. She loved it.
“Your nipples, the curve, the valley.” He breathed over her damp flesh. “The weight, texture, everything about your breasts is amazing. Perfect in every way,” he said before taking the other nipple into his mouth. He pulled her closer to the edge, the hard ridge of his cock behind the denim rubbing at her pussy.
“I’m so glad that you love it.” She reached between them and rubbed her hand up and down his jeans. “I really think, however, you need to get rid of the pants. I really think you need to get naked so that I can play with you as well.”
“Push them down and I’ll kick them away. Busy,” he muttered against her flesh. Scraping his teeth to her breast, he made her jump before arching into him more. Then he started with little flicks of his tongue to the tight nub.
Doing as he asked her to, she pushed his jeans down, her hands moving to his ass and cupping the perfect globes lightly. Her hands moved back and she let them lightly trail over his stomach, hesitating at the scar on his stomach where he was gored by a bull. “God, I could have lost you then. I was a hot mess after this happened,” she whispered in admission. “I know you don’t remember but I was there every single day. I stayed with you until they made me leave each day.” Until he woke. Then he was grumbly and would tell her to get to work or whatnot.
“I remember,” he said, lifting his head. Looking her right in the eye, he lifted a hand to cup her face. “Even when I was in and out with the drugs, I knew you were there. You would hold my hand, your thumb rubbing at the flesh between thumb and finger. And you talked, told me about your day and anything else you could think of. It was soothing and reassuring hearing your voice and feeling the heat of your skin.”
“Then why did you ask me to leave?” She had been eighteen or nineteen years old when it had happened, he barely twenty but still. “I had loved you even then but you told me to leave. That about killed me.” And then shortly after he had left for the service and she left for New York. “Past. Sorry, that’s the past. What we care about is the here, the now, and the future, right?”
He was staring at her, his thumb rubbing over her cheek. “I told you to go because I didn’t want you wasting your life sitting there. The doctors had just told me they thought I’d need another surgery, that they were worried about the damage done. They thought there might even be nerve damage and possible partial paralysis. There wasn’t, thankfully, but I didn’t want you being there, stuck day in and day out, while I went through God only knew how many hours of PT. I thought I was doing what was right,” he said softly. “I know now that I shouldn’t have, but I am proud of all you did, all you’ve done.”
“And I’m very, very proud of all that you have done as well. You were able to go on and do such amazing and wonderful things. You came back the man that I needed you to be.” She smiled crookedly. “Sadly it is a man that knows how to kill, a man that knows how to find assholes that are looking to hurt those he loves. All the same though, you are the man that I need.”
He didn’t flinch but there was something in his eyes, a dulling of the light there, at her words. “I just hope I always will be,” he said quietly. A faint smile was on his lips, not the happy and joyful kind either. But he didn’t let her say anything. He kissed her instead, very effective to keeping her quiet.
When they parted, Patty licked her lips and smiled. “I love your kisses.” She touched her fingertips to his lips lightly, lovingly. “You do know that when and if you ever want to talk, I’m here, right?”
“I know,” he whispered. Leaning his forehead to hers, he let out a slow breath. “Now is not the time for that discussion. There may never be a good time or a time I’m ready to have it. But I do know, to the bottom of my heart, you will always be ready to hear me if I ever feel the need to say the words.”
