Noah spent the afternoon in the library with the other children. Everyone was different, but that made Noah feel like himself again. He finally understood what Mrs Tuckin meant – this might not have been what he wanted, but it was exactly what he needed.
Of course, in the back of his mind, Noah knew that tomorrow the number of Noahs would double again. And the next day, and the next, until there were thousands … millions … billions of Noahs.
But, for the moment, Noah just played.
