Dragon Flight Academy 2, page 7
“Oooooh, God, J-Jake,” Gracie stuttered in between gasps. “I-I f-feel so f-full. So w-wonderful.”
“You feel amazing,” I grunted as I plunged inside her again.
There wasn’t a lot of room on the couch, but we made it work. Whenever I pushed down, Gracie pushed up with her hips. Her pussy had enveloped my dick completely and refused to let it go. I was so tight that I wasn’t sure I could hold on any longer, but I dug my hands into the cushions and waited until I felt her body shiver again.
“I feel so hot,” Gracie wailed as she pressed against me.
“Good,” I growled as I snaked a hand between our bodies to rub against her clit.
Gracie’s moans resonated right in the shell of my ear, and I fed on them like I’d fed on her pussy just a few minutes ago. Her walls were still so tight around my cock that I wondered how she could keep it up, especially when she was panting so hard that she sounded like she’d just run a marathon.
“I’m gonna cum,” I grunted as she shook violently beneath me.
My cock twitched as a jolt ran down my spine, and a second later, I sprayed Gracie’s pussy with my seed just as she let out a deafening scream. I didn’t stop pushing my hips in and out until I felt the last drop of cum spill out of my tip, and even then, I remained balls deep inside of her.
“You’re amazing, Jake,” Gracie sighed as she collapsed against the cushions again.
I dropped my sweaty forehead onto her shoulder, and Gracie’s hands threaded through my equally sweaty hair. It took a few minutes for our breathing to grow more steady, and neither of us moved or spoke during that break. When I felt like I could move without breaking, I pulled out of Gracie but still laid on top of her. I shifted my weight to my elbows so that I could lift my head and look down into her gorgeous, green eyes.
“You make me go crazy,” I murmured and captured her lips in a kiss.
“Same,” she laughed. “I like you a lot.”
“Well, that makes me feel like I’m back in fifth grade,” I replied.
“You’re a lot nicer than the boy I had a crush on in fifth grade,” she laughed.
We kissed again, though this one was lazy and slow, and when we pulled away, we looked into each other’s eyes for a moment and then laughed.
“You know,” she said as she shifted until she was sitting on the top of my legs. “I’ve never ridden you before. I think I’d like to try it. Will you guide me?”
“Of course,” I quickly replied. “I’ll show you anything you want.”
A naked Gracie perched on my lap was a vision I knew would be forever seared in my mind, and I was not disappointed. I took my spot first, and after some more finger action from Gracie, I was soon back at full attention. I almost lost it when her pussy grazed the tip of my erection again, and she grinned when my hands squeezed her butt cheeks in response.
She eased her way down until she was pressed against my balls, and then she rode me like an experienced rodeo queen. We were both moaning and groaning so much that I was surprised no one came to investigate, but then I remembered that the rest of the staff had all left early since there weren’t any dragon flights.
We spent the rest of the night exploring what got each other excited, so there wasn’t much in the way of sleep. By the time the first rays of sunlight pierced the faded curtain, I was absolutely wiped out but utterly content, and so was Gracie.
“We’d better head back,” I murmured around a yawn. “Before the whole campus wakes up.”
“We should,” Gracie sighed.
Her head was resting on my chest, and she was idly tracing circles on my stomach while I stroked her long blonde hair that was now messy, tangled, and dirty.
“I don’t want to leave,” I admitted.
I felt Gracie shift, and when I looked down, our eyes met. A soft smile played on her lips, and despite how exhausted she was, she still took my breath away.
“Neither do I,” she revealed.
“But we have to.” It was my turn to sigh.
“We do,” she agreed, but she didn’t make a move.
I chuckled at our sex-induced lethargy, and it soon transformed into a full-blown fit of laughter that I couldn’t control. Gracie joined me almost instantly, and the two of us laughed for what felt like ages.
“Stoooop,” she whined and lightly hit my chest. “My sides hurt from all the laughing.”
“Sorry.” I said and wiped tears from my eyes. “Right, let’s get dressed.”
It took us ten minutes to find our clothes and put them on because we couldn’t keep our hands to ourselves. Eventually, we did manage to get dressed and tidy the room so that no one would realize we’d spent the night in the old office. Then we left the stables at a hurried pace.
It was already five in the morning, and soon, the majority of the campus would be awake and on the move, so we had to run if we didn’t want to get caught. I didn’t think my squadron would ever rat me out, not even Pierce, but we couldn’t take the risk that rumors of our forbidden relationship would reach General Harlow’s ears.
“I’ll see you in Sloane’s class today,” I said when we reached the edge of the campus.
“You most definitely will,” Gracie replied.
“Good,” I smiled.
I glanced around to make sure we were alone, and once I was satisfied that we were, I kissed her lips. Once we pulled apart, she ran off with a smile and a wave.
I’d only just managed to take a shower and put on my running uniform when Captain Hale came to get my squadron for our usual five-thirty run around campus. I was utterly exhausted, but I didn’t let it show. Caleb, of course, knew I hadn’t spent the night in our room, but he barely glanced at me when we were all gathered in our usual starting point.
“Before we go, I have an announcement to make,” Hale said. “General Harlow has made a decision following Cadet Randall’s intervention yesterday afternoon.”
“Shit, I almost forgot,” Caleb whispered and glanced around to realize that Nick wasn’t with us.
Since he was suspended until further notice and had been asked to pack his bags until a decision was made, he hadn’t bothered waking up with the rest of us for our daily run, and I didn’t blame him in the slightest. As far as he knew, he was on his way home today. Heck, even I didn’t know if we were going to lose a squadron member today or not.
Hale’s eyes zeroed in on me, and I held my head high and my shoulders back as I waited for the verdict. Our supervisor’s lips twitched, almost as if he wanted to smile, but he knew he couldn’t step out of his character.
“General Harlow has agreed to let Cadet Varnes join us on our training trip on the condition that he is banned from flying and taking part in any aspect of training,” Hale revealed.
I didn’t realize I’d been holding my breath until I let out a long and relieved sigh. Caleb slapped me on the shoulder as the other cadets cheered. I sagged into Caleb’s side at the immense relief that I felt knowing that Nick would at least be able to join us.
“Well done, squadron leader,” Caleb declared and then nudged me with an elbow. “I knew you were leader material from the moment we met.”
“Now that situation has been dealt with, let’s get crackin’,” Hale ordered.
As my friends began jogging away from campus, Hale motioned for me to stay behind.
“Sir?” I asked him.
“Well done,” was all he said.
“Thank you, Sir,” I replied.
He didn’t add anything else, and neither did I. As I raced to catch up with my squadron, I couldn’t help the massive grin on my face, and as I ran, I felt as free as the wind itself.
Chapter 5
I’d never spent much time outside of the country before, even when I was in the Army, so I could barely contain my excitement when the cadets, staff, and squires all piled into the dragon carrier that would take us to the Marshall Islands. Our dragons could barely fit into the cages on the lower level of the aircraft anymore, and I doubted they’d fit at all when we had to return to the academy after these exercises.
Storm definitely looked grumpy and unhappy about being stuck in yet another cage, but when Captain Hale announced that we’d do a stopover in Hawaii for lunch so our dragons could stretch their wings, I knew he’d be fine. Storm even seemed to begrudgingly agree to stay in his cage on the condition that we stayed true to our word and allowed him to step out for an hour or two.
The carrier was full of excited cadets and squires, most of whom hadn’t really traveled much if at all, and conversations were steadily getting louder and more animated by the second. I was sitting next to Caleb with Brie on the other side of the aisle. Gracie had to sit with the squires at the back, behind the cadets, but we’d smiled at each other when we first entered the carrier, and I knew it was only a matter of time before we could have a conversation together.
As I tuned into Caleb and Brie’s discussion, I couldn’t help but grin. I was on my way to Hawaii with my full squadron, and the fear and worry of the last few days seemed to fade away as the dragon carrier lifted into the air.
“How much time off do you think we’ll have?” Caleb asked Brie.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged casually. “Probably more than at the academy.”
“Don’t forget, this isn’t a vacation,” I warned. “I’m sure they’ll keep us busy.”
“Oh, believe me, I know that,” Caleb said. “I just can’t imagine what our training will look like in the Marshall Islands.”
“It’ll probably be sandy, sunny, and salty,” Pierce cut in from the seats behind us. “And we’ll get to blow stuff up.”
“Not we,” Brie corrected him with a roll of her eyes. “Our dragons.”
“Same thing.” Pierce waved a hand in her direction before he glanced at Caleb and me. “Personally, I can’t wait to dive-bomb real warships. It’ll be nice to see how powerful our dragons really are. I bet one fireball from Bravo can destroy an entire warship.”
“It’s all dependent on the size of the warship,” Caleb said as he looked over his shoulder at Pierce. “If the ship’s four times the size of Bravo, then I don’t think a single fireball is enough.”
“You clearly don’t know Bravo,” Pierce snorted. “Then again, it’s not your dragon that’ll do the most damage.”
“Hey, I’ll have you know that Greenie is improving every day,” my friend huffed. “He might not be the strongest, fastest, or tallest, but he’s getting there. Besides, who do you think will have to cover your sorry ass when you’re busy dive-bombing the enemy?”
“Definitely not you,” Pierce replied as he wrinkled his nose like he’d just caught a whiff of something stinky. “That’s like signing my death warrant.”
“Damn, man, why so dramatic?” Caleb rolled his eyes and turned around again. “You sound like a cheesy hero in a bad action movie, not a real dragon rider.”
“Whatever.” Pierce rolled his eyes at him. “What I want to know is who’s stronger? Bravo or Storm?”
“You know Storm would eat you both, don’t you?” Caleb raised an eyebrow as he twisted back in his seat to look at Pierce again. “Actually, he wouldn’t even bother eating you. Just one swing of his tail, and he’d send you both flying into the ocean.”
“Not if Jake has anything to say about it,” Pierce argued. “You wouldn’t let one of your fellow cadets and his dragon drown, would you?”
Both men then turned to look at me with expectant eyes, and I looked back at them with a tired expression.
“You both know you have to put your differences aside to work as a team, don’t you?” I sighed.
I wasn’t about to pick a side between my best friend and the second-best cadet of my squadron. Both men had to find a way to get along if our squadron was going to succeed. Any conflict between teammates could have dire consequences for our group as we’d already learned firsthand.
“I don’t think Pierce knows what working as a team means,” Brie grunted under her breath, though it was loud enough for all three of us to hear.
“Ouch.” Pierce placed a hand over his heart. “At least I don’t want to get any of you expelled. I’d say that’s something.”
“So magnanimous,” Caleb replied dryly. “You’re a real treat, you know?”
As the two men continued to argue together, I peered past Caleb to look at Brie. She was already looking at me, and we shared a private, understanding smile. She mouthed the word ‘men,’ and I lifted my brows in answer. I was a man, but at the moment, I could totally understand. Brie only grinned back at me before she turned to Xander to start a conversation with him.
I shook my head and looked around at the rest of the squadron. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, except for Nick, who sat by himself.
He seemed to be sulking, with his arms folded over his chest and his body turned away from the rest of us. I was surprised by the fact that Byron wasn’t sitting next to him since both men were roommates and close friends, but I assumed that Nick had asked to be left alone. I could understand why he was moody and not taking part in any conversations, but I needed to be sure there wasn’t something else going on.
“I’ll be back,” I said to the arguing men.
I didn’t wait for an answer before I stood up, crossed the aisle right by Brie and Xander’s row of seats and reached Nick. I sat beside him but didn’t speak just yet. I wanted to give him the opportunity to talk to me first and share his thoughts. If I were in his shoes, the last thing I’d want would be for someone to force me to talk when I wasn’t ready.
We sat in silence for a long time while the carrier’s engine roared in the background and the other cadets talked about their plans for our stopover in Hawaii. Obviously, Nick knew I was there, even though he still didn’t say anything. He shifted in his seat a few times, exhaled loudly, and after a few minutes, he turned to look at me.
“I know what you’re trying to do,” he muttered.
“You do?” I lifted an eyebrow and played it cool. “I thought I was just sitting here.”
“You’re trying to make me feel included,” he sighed. “Even though I don’t get to take part in any of the actual training.”
“So you do know what I’m trying to do,” I replied casually.
“You’re not as smooth as you think you are,” Nick replied.
The corners of his mouth twitched, but he didn’t actually smile. Still, it was progress, and I was going to make damn sure that by the end of the trip, Nick had a good time. And maybe we’d hear from General Harlow before it was time to leave the islands, and Nick would be able to participate in at least some of the training. I knew the odds weren’t good, but I refused to be a pessimist.
“I just wanted to make sure you were alright,” I said after a few moments. “I can only imagine what you must feel like. It would be like… getting an arm cut off or something.”
“You aren’t far off,” he sighed.
“You can’t give up,” I said.
“Jake, there isn’t much hope left in me,” Nick replied and shook his head. “I know how this works. They’re always looking for ways to eliminate more riders who can’t make the cut. This just gives Harlow what he needs.”
“He let you come on the trip, didn’t he?” I argued gently. “If he was really determined to kick you out of the corps, he would’ve sent you home already. Instead, you get to travel to the Marshall Islands with us, and yeah, it fucking sucks that you can’t fly, but at least you can still interact with your dragon.”
“Cosmos knows,” Nick revealed. “He can’t tell me in words, but I know he knows that I won’t be able to fly with him.”
“Think of it like this,” I suggested. “Harlow could’ve sent you home and cut off all your ties with Cosmos, but instead, he allowed you to come on the trip. He understands what it’s like to be bonded, and he won’t break it unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
“Yeah, I know,” the cadet agreed. “You’re right, I know that, but I can’t find it in me to be grateful. The sole purpose of a dragon rider is to ride, and that’s the one thing I can’t do.”
“It’s not a forever thing,” I insisted and placed a friendly hand on his bony shoulder. “You’ll be back in the saddle before you know it.”
Now I was just trying to make him feel better. In truth, I had no idea how long the FBI’s investigation would take, though I’d heard stories when I was in the Army of background searches that dragged on for years.
“I appreciate that you’re trying to make me feel better,” Nick said. “But I’d like to be alone now.”
“Of course.” I nodded. “If you need anything, just know that I’m here, alright?”
“Thanks.” He offered me a tight-lipped smile, and then he turned away again.
When I returned to my seat, Brie had finished her conversation with Xander and was now dozing off, but Caleb and Pierce were still in a heated conversation about the strengths of their dragons.
“Guys, give it a rest, will you?” I sighed as I took my seat next to Caleb. “I’m not spending the next two hours listening to you two argue.”
“Yes, Dad.” Pierce rolled his eyes and finally sat back in his seat.
“How is he?” Caleb whispered as he jerked his head toward Nick.
“Not great,” I replied and glanced at Nick. “There’s not much I can do or say that will make him feel better.”
“You’ve already done everything you could, Jake,” my friend noted. “You didn’t have to speak to Harlow, but you did, and thanks to you, even though Nick is still suspended and can’t fly, he’s still here with us.”
“That’s what I told him, but imagine you were in his shoes,” I said. “How would you feel?”
A grimace contorted Caleb’s face at the thought of not being able to ride Greenie.
“Yeah, I get your point,” my friend murmured. “I’d probably… hell, I don’t know what I’d do.”
