Chaos God 8, page 3
part #8 of Chaos God Series
“Yaaaah!” Innay’s war cry ripped through the air as she slammed the thorny ends of a half-dozen vines through the meaty chests of as many ravens.
The birds’ black eyes went wide with shock for a second before their chests heaved one last breath, and they dropped dead still skewered on the vines like a horrific shish kabob.
I had to force my eyes away from the powerful huldra, and I longed to just watch her tear these bastards to shreds.
But I wouldn’t neglect my duties.
I swooped down and speared a long series of ravens on my rot-dagger arm. The bodies stacked up fast, but the decay of my demon blood-quenched blade was faster. By the time I had a third raven on my blade-like appendage, the first had rotted away and dropped to the ground. I hoped none of the festering carcasses dropped on anyone’s head, but I was too involved in the fight to check.
Besides, my warriors weren’t exactly squeamish, and I knew they would fight on even through the most disgusting of circumstances.
I lost myself in the battle, and I allowed my fighting instincts and eons of muscle memory to take over. I’d connected so much with my memories of my life as Loki, and a large portion of that involved fights much like this. I’d recalled how Loki had spent a lot of time fighting for Odin in various wars throughout Asgardian history, and now that my memories had been unlocked, my body knew exactly what to do.
I’d wondered if that was what had given me an advantage in my prize fighting days back on Earth, and a small part of me wondered if it had given me an unfair advantage. There was nothing to be done about that even if it were true, though. That part of me was so far in the past it felt like an entirely different lifetime now.
The ravens dropped dead as I cut them down two or three at a time, and my muscles felt warm with the pleasure of battle.
Three of the black birds squawked loudly as they tried to flee, but I chased after them and killed them easily. One shrieked as its flesh and feathers exploded outward from a brutal slash of my flesh-rending sword arm, and the other two were eliminated efficiently by the rot of time from my rot-dagger arm.
Before I knew it, the battle was ours, and my warriors cut the final ravens to ribbons.
A cheer of victory rippled through the warriors, and shouts of praise rang from the castle windows as I soared around to make sure none had gotten away.
The ground was littered with millions of black feathers, and I couldn’t even see the rocky soil underneath. It was going to take days to clean up this mess, and I shook my head as the complete absurdity of the battle took hold of me.
“What the fuck,” I chuckled to myself as I landed on the ground near my warrior lovers.
“Are you well, my love?” Elora laughed as she stretched her lower back.
The swell of her pregnant belly was becoming larger by the day, and I wondered how long it would be before our child made his or her arrival. I knew elves had a much longer gestational period than humans, but Shalanna’s and my baby had arrived early and fast due to the fact that he was roughly half god.
Sylmarie had cautioned us that the combination of Elora’s elven heritage combined with my Aesir blood made it nearly impossible to estimate when our child would come. I’d been keeping a close eye on Elora ever since, but I knew there was little chance I’d be able to drag my Valkyrie lover away from the battlefield before she was ready. Besides, I trusted her to know what her own body could handle.
I did hope that once all this Surtr business was finished, she would accept the pampering and royal treatment I’d made sure to lavish Shalanna with when she’d been pregnant. My ladies were effectively queens now, and I would have them treated as such.
Elora raised her silvery eyebrows at me, and I forced myself to remember her question.
“Yes, I’m alright,” I chuckled. “I was just thinking how insane this was. A massive flock of huge-ass ravens. I keep thinking I’ll stop being surprised by the things we come up against, but maybe that will never happen.”
“No one ever said being God King would be easy,” Elora teased.
I burst into laughter at that, and I pulled my sexy silver-haired lover into my arms for a hug.
“That’s true,” I laughed.
“Well, that was good fun,” Ayen chuckled as he came over and clapped me on the shoulder. “Perhaps we should consider some kind of fitting for the windows, though, eh, Allfather?”
“That’s not a bad idea.” I nodded as I thought about the fear in Ayen’s eyes when he’d seen Sassa in danger.
Some of the castle’s windows were filled with metal-lined glass like the stained-glass windows in churches on Earth, but many of them were just open to the outside. Milo would eventually begin walking, and I shuddered to think he might accidentally fall out one of the windows one day. Not to mention the security issue they posed. We’d never had such a massive offensive strike directly on the castle before, and I decided I would put Hezzig on the task as soon as he was finished with the personal magical totems for our planet-hopping mission.
I sighed as I thought about how much we still had to do, and I knew the break from our planning meeting was over. Not that it had been much of a break.
“Come on, everyone,” I said to my companions.
The members of my council began to return inside and head back toward the healing hall for the rest of our meeting, and several of my non-warrior people were coming outside to inspect the carnage left over from the fight.
I caught Ingrid’s attention before I went back inside, and I waved the older housekeeper over.
“Well done, Allfather,” Ingrid said in a way that made the unfamiliar title sound comfortable.
“Would you arrange some workers to begin clearing away this mess, please, Ingrid?” I asked as I gestured at the black-feathered mess.
“Of course,” Ingrid said with a wry grin. “That dagger of yours has already created an awful stench. We don’t want the other bodies to rot away. We would never be rid of the smell.”
“Thank you, Ingrid,” I laughed as Elora and I headed back inside.
Sylmarie waited for us just inside the door, and she threw her arms around me in a tight hug.
“Well done, my love,” Sylmarie murmured. “You fought beautifully.”
“You got some good shots in, too,” I told my seeress. “Come on, we have to finish planning.”
Elora, Sylmarie, and I walked back into the healing hall together as Shalanna was gushing to Freesia about the thrill of being back in the fight.
“I am glad you felt so well,” Freesia laughed. “But do not rush yourself, darling. Your body is still healing from childbirth.”
“I promise to rest for the remainder of the day,” Shalanna giggled, and she climbed up onto one of the examination tables to prove it to my red-haired lover.
“Good,” Freesia laughed.
I glanced around at the reassembled group and nodded my thanks to them all.
“Well done, everyone,” I said.
My fully-grown twins nodded in a respectful manner as their dark mists curled along the stone floor like smoke.
“And I must say, Innay,” I said as I gazed at the brown-eyed huldra. “I was very impressed with your skills.”
“It was an honor to help,” Innay said.
Nenna rolled her green eyes so hard I worried they might get stuck, and I couldn’t help but notice how she’d been entirely absent from the fight. Which was fine, she wasn’t duty-bound to me, and we hadn’t really needed her assistance.
It was an interesting contrast between the sisters, though, and my preference for Innay’s personality continued to grow.
“Alright, where were we?” I asked as I sat back down in my chair.
“We had just decided on who would accompany you, Allfather,” Finnern said helpfully.
“Right, thank you,” I said. “Okay, so I do think going to the nearest realm might be best, just for ease of travel sake, but I’m not sure which realm that would be exactly. So I know Asgard, obviously, Midgard, Vanaheim…”
My brain stalled as I tried and failed to come up with the others.
“Then the home realms of the elves and dwarves?” I asked.
“Alfheim,” Emneth said with a slight nod.
“And Svartalfheim,” Finnern added. “Though it was once called Nidavellir as well.”
“There is also Jötunnheim,” Vidar added.
“The jötunn stallions,” I murmured to myself as I nodded.
I mentally ticked the realms off on my fingers, and I counted six realms so far that we had named.
“Oh, Valhalla,” I said. “That’s one of the realms, right?”
“Valhalla is another realm,” Vidar said, “but it is not counted among the nine, as it was the paradise home of the Aesir, and the reward for the bravest of heroes. They did not include it in the realms they ruled.”
“Huh,” I breathed. “Alright, so what are we missing, then?”
“Muspelheim, Helheim, and Niflheim,” Vidar said simply.
“But they’re here,” I said slowly as my face contorted with confusion. “They’re counted in the nine realms?”
“They are,” Sylmarie confirmed. “They can be reached without the need of a rainbow bridge, but they are their own realms separate of Asgard.”
“Right…” I droned.
It wasn’t exactly logical to me, but I wasn’t about to try and recategorize the realms now.
“Eons ago,” Vidar began. “The Aesir discovered a way to harness the power that comes from within the realms of the afterlife. They used the power to create the first stable rainbow bridge. They were surprised and pleased to learn of other realms outside of what they had known. They saw no reason to provide a new name for these places, so they became known as the other realms.”
“Wow,” I breathed with surprise.
I hadn’t thought about it all that much, but I had assumed rainbow bridges were sort of a natural phenomenon. Vidar made it sound more like a form of magical technology the Aesir had developed, and I remembered something from the first Thor movie.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor had explained that, on his fictional version of this world, magic and science were one and the same. I guess the execs at Marvel got at least something right.
I thought about the dark elves’ altars, and I came to the conclusion they were similar to what Vidar described as the first rainbow bridge. The people of this planet had found a way to harness magic in a scientific way. It was really impressive, and I wondered what they might be able to do if they had access to the advanced technology of Earth.
“Through that first rainbow bridge,” Vidar continued. “The realms of the elves and dwarves were discovered.”
“Why did the elves and dwarves all come here?” I wondered.
“Mostly they came for new opportunities,” Vidar said with a shrug. “But there was also a deep sense of community created in those days. It was much like what you have done here at Castle Levi. The Allfather always has that special quality, it seems. One which brings people together from all walks of life. And all realms…”
Elora, Shalanna, Freesia, and Sylmarie looked at me with a deep affectionate pride in their eyes. Lyrie’s black eyes were a bit more surprised by my brother’s statement, and even Innay gazed at me with a curious little smile on her beautiful lips.
“You have brought people from vastly different lives together to live as one,” Vidar said, and he crossed his arms over his broad chest as he leaned back in his seat. “It is very impressive. Odin would be pleased.”
My mouth fell open with silent surprise at the declaration, and I had absolutely no idea how to respond to that. I knew Vidar’s opinion of the previous Allfather wasn’t entirely pleasant, but he said it like it was a huge compliment.
There was also a small spot in the back of my mind that felt distinctly Loki-ish, where the root of my shock seemed to be flaring even brighter at these words. I recognized a hint of smug righteousness back there as well, but I made a point of ignoring it.
My soul had come too far to give way to such vanity now. As Loki, I may have preened. But as Levi, I could accept such praise and quietly let it bolster me when needed.
After a moment, I settled on a little nod, and I moved the conversation forward.
“So, when can we begin?” I asked, and I cleared my throat.
“I believe we will be ready to open our first bridge tomorrow,” Sylmarie said, and she glanced at Finnern, Emneth, and Nae.
The triple-braided dwarf, white-haired dark elf, and scarred Valkyrie all shared a glance before they all nodded in agreement.
“Yes, I believe that will work,” Finnern said.
“The morrow will do nicely,” Nae agreed.
“Quite,” Emneth said.
“Alright,” I sighed. “I think that’s about everything. You all have your tasks to oversee, and you know what to do…”
Everyone nodded, and I felt a bit like an elementary teacher sending off my fifth graders for their group projects. We all started to stand from our chairs, but Sylmarie added one more thing.
“I suggest everyone seek a deep and restful night,” Sylmarie said. “To open a rainbow bridge requires a vast amount of energy, and we will have much ahead of us when we cross. We must be well rested for this venture.”
“She’s right,” I agreed. “Take it easy tonight. Don’t waste your energy. Rest.”
“Yes, Allfather,” Emneth said in a polite tone.
“We will retire now, Father,” Ari said.
“Sleep well, Father,” Ker added.
Then the two ethereal beings wafted out the window in a huge fog of green-black and blue-black mist.
“I shall never get used to that,” Finnern said in a dry voice.
“Neither will I,” Ayen laughed.
“Shall we have dinner, my sweetling?” Vidar asked Nenna.
“Yes, please,” Nenna said as she pawed at my brother. “And then… dessert.”
I was close enough to Innay to hear her quiet groan of disgust, and I smirked at the beautiful, brown-eyed huldra. She had the good graces to blush slightly as she lowered her eyes, and then she turned and left the room.
One by one, all of our companions dispersed from our meeting, and my ladies and I started to make our way upstairs to our bedchamber. I couldn’t help but notice the way Lyrie lingered nervously at the bottom of the stairs.
Before I could encourage her to come with us, Elora and Shalanna did it for me.
“Come on, Lyrie,” Elora said as Shalanna waved her forward.
Lyrie’s mouth formed into a silent little O shape as she gazed up at us with surprise.
“Come along,” Sylmarie laughed lightly.
“You are one of us now, Lyrie,” Freesia agreed.
Lyrie’s charcoal complexion turned rosy as she blushed, but she smiled and began to follow us up the stairs.
By the time we reached the top step, Elora and Freesia had grabbed hold of my wrists, and they tugged me into our bedroom. The two of them steered me right over to the bed, and Shalanna giggled as Sylmarie closed the door tightly behind us.
Lyrie couldn’t take her eyes off me as her breathing started to become shallow, and I knew exactly what my ladies were planning.
“Our Allfather needs the worship he deserves before such an arduous journey,” Elora purred as she knelt between my knees.
Chapter 3
I leaned back on my palms as Elora’s hands slid hotly up my thighs to the lacing at the front of my pants. Freesia and Shalanna took Lyrie by the hands and encouraged her forward as Sylmarie began pushing the thick straps of her dress off her shoulders.
Heat trickled along my skin and down my spine as my cock hardened, and all five of my ladies turned adorably pink in the cheeks.
“This should be fun,” I chuckled.
I grabbed the edges of my leather jacket and shrugged it off my shoulders as Elora pulled the front of my pants open. My silver-haired lover reached up to grip the sides of my pants, and she bit her lip as she looked at me.
“Here,” I chuckled as I lifted my ass off the bed.
“Thank you!” Elora chirped as she yanked my pants down my legs.
In the time it took Elora to remove my pants, Sylmarie had gotten entirely naked, and her pale skin shone in the fiery light of sunset. My sexy Völva had turned to help Freesia undress, and Shalanna had taken Lyrie’s face in her hands.
While my eyes were locked on the other ladies, Elora’s hands traced little circles over my lower abdomen, and she leaned down to lick the drop of pre-cum that glistened on my head. The slick heat of her tongue sent tendrils of flame up my spine, and I gasped at the tiny shock of pleasure.
“Mmmm,” Elora hummed, and she glanced up at me from under heavy lashes. “Would you like more, Allfather?”
“I want everything you have to give me,” I murmured, and I dug my right hand into her thick silver hair.
Elora’s hair was all twisted up in a series of braids inside braids, and I quickly destroyed the beautiful mass with my fingers.
My eyes drifted back up to the other four beauties in front of me as Elora’s lips locked around the tip of my dick. Lyrie’s black eyes were locked on my lap as Shalanna’s nimble hands pulled at the lacings of the dark elf’s jacket.
Beside the two of them, Sylmarie and Freesia’s mouths were locked in a passionate kiss, and Sylmarie had pulled my red-haired lover into a tight embrace. The seeress’ hands wandered freely over Freesia’s body, and she made quick work of the healer’s simple dress.
Elora’s hot mouth was tight like a glove on my cock, and her movements were lazy and slow. It was obvious none of my ladies were in a rush tonight, and I was happy to follow along for the ride. There were few things I found sexier than my lovers taking what they wanted from me.
Shalanna had made quick work of Lyrie’s clothing, and now Sylmarie was rapidly revealing every freckled inch of Freesia’s skin. Then, Sylmarie gave Freesia a sultry look and walked over to stand behind Shalanna. Sylmarie’s hands wrapped around Shalanna’s front and quickly began to peel away the short-haired beauty’s clothing.
At the same time, Freesia sauntered over and knelt down beside Elora between my knees. The sexy redhead looked up at me as she whispered to my silver-haired Valkyrie.
