Introduction
Olivia Vale - After the death of her parents in a car crash at the age of 6, she and her elder brother, Shawn, had to live a complicated life in a foster home until he turned old enough to provide for them by himself. Now at the age of 18, she lives in a bubble, unaware of the secrets hidden from her for 12 years. Even though she has a normal life and a loving boyfriend, she feels an emotion growing inside of her every time she sees Kaden. Why does she feel a pull towards Kaden like she never did with her boyfriend? Why does it feel like everything around her is just wrong?

Prologue
"Mommy, why does brother get to train with daddy and not me?", a 6-year-old blonde girl pouts while resting her chin on the armrest of the couch on which her mother was sitting. The female smiles at her daughter before brushing her locks down with her pale long fingers.
"Because your brother is older than you and must get strong to protect you.", Mrs. Vale answers in her sweet soft tone.
"But I can protect myself if I train too!", the girl huffs before crossing her arms.
The lady chuckles before kissing Olivia's forehead, "I know you can protect yourself, and one day, I'm sure you not only would keep I'm sure you would not only keep yourself safe but also all your loved ones. Even the pack."
The girl looks away to hide the tears in her eyes, "Brother says I'm too weak... How will I protect anyone if I'm weak..."
Mrs. Vale looks at the little girl with a frown before reaching up around her own neck, "Here, I have something for you.", she says while taking off her locket which is in the shape of a wolf. "When you wear this, know that your mommy and daddy believe in you. You are going to be so strong one day that you'd make us proud." She gives her daughter the trinket.
Olivia's eyes shine in excitement as her tiny fingers run on the wolf's fur. "So beautiful...like mommy!", she smiles, making her mother spray kisses on her face. Just then her elder brother, Shawn walks in. His golden yellow hair was still wet from the shower he took.
Mrs. Vale looks at her son in concern before glancing at the clock on the wall, "It's 9pm. Were you still out training on your own?" The 7 years old little boy runs over to his mother and hugs her.
"I have to be strong! I have to protect my family! Daddy says so.", he nods in agreement with his own words.
His mother cups his face before brushing back his wet locks, "Don't tire yourself out though." She looks at her children before hugging them both, "You two shouldn't worry so much about protecting yourselves. Your parents are here to protect you..."
The woman then stands up and holds their hands, taking her kids to their shared bedroom. Tucking them into their beds, she says goodnight by kissing their heads.

Olivia wakes up when the cold wind hitting her makes her shiver. She lifts her head only to find herself being carried by her brother on his back. "..Shawn..?", she calls out when she hears him sniffle.
"Y-yeah...", he wipes his face with his free arm while with the other, her seven years old brother keeps her on his back. "You're awake...", his voice was shaky and showed he was crying. Olivia looks around her and realizes he is walking on the road in the middle of the night.
"Why are we here..?", she asks as she clings to his shirt. "It's really cold..and scary... Brother, I want to go home. I want mommy...", the girl whimpers.
"We can't go back, Livia", Shawn tries to speak in a stronger tone, "We have to go. Mommy and Daddy...", he shakes his head before continuing, "..they died in a car accident."
His words shatter the girl's heart and she clings to him tighter, "What?? Noo! That's not true! I want to go home!! Take me home!!", she cries loudly. Suddenly some wolves can be heard in the distance and Shawn gasps before quickly moving Olivia so now she's hugging his chest instead.
"Shhh! Keep it down!", he whispers to her as he picks up speed, almost running away from the source of the voice. "I would protect you... I promise I'd protect you.", he assures her while tears ran down his own cheeks. "I'll protect you from the bad wolves...", he says in his head.

In a dimly lit room, a lady is laying on the bed in the center of the space. Her frail hand is held firmly by an 11 years old raven-haired boy. Tears run down his cheeks as he kisses his mother's knuckles, "I..love you, mom...", he looks at the woman who had grown too weak to even sit up on her own.
Her eyes were closed and Kaden wasn't even sure if his mother could hear him. He was sitting beside the bed, praying to the Moon Goddess to heal his mother. "Please don't leave me... I can't lose you too...", the boy cries.
A warm hand rests on his shoulder and he turns his head to look at the pack's Beta, Daniel. The male runs a hand through the boy's hair before holding his shoulders and taking him out of the room. Kaden clings to Daniel's waist, crying in his shirt.
"I'm sorry, young alpha... but there's nothing we can do for the Luna... Your father's death has made her wolf slowly die inside... I wish you didn't have to go through this at such an age...", the Beta says before sighing, "You would have to train harder now to take your place...or someone else would become the Alpha..."
Kaden goes quiet for a moment before pulling away and wiping away his tears. He looks up at the male straight in the eyes, "I would train hard. I would become the strongest! And I won't let anyone hurt my loved ones...I swear"
Chapter 1
Unexpected Feelings
Olivia's POV
"Olivia, are you ready?", my brother calls out as he pushes his bag into the back of the car.
"Yes! Can't wait to go!", I answer as I emerge from the tiny house we had rented. I look at my brother as he wipes the sweat off his forehead. He fixes his black shirt with his long fair fingers. "Just like my brother who can't wait to meet the one he loves.", I tease him and his cheeks slightly turn red.
Phew, finally me and my elder brother, Shawn, are ready to go to college. Our summer vacation has just ended and now we have to move back into our dorms. I look at the house one last time. I am Olivia Vale. I stay with Shawn when we are not in our dorms. Our parents...are not with us. They died in an accident years ago... I was only 6 years old when that happened. My poor brother was only 7... He was burdened to look after us. Once he turned 18, he got us both out of foster homes. I love and respect him for all he has done for us. I'm now an 18-year-old blonde girl with lightly pale skin.
I look at my brother who has a shine in his eyes. He is excited about going back to school. I understand that. We sit in the car and he starts driving. "Yes, I can't wait to see her.", my red cheeked-brother admitted.
"Of course, she's your soulmate after all", I smile at him before he suddenly steps on the break, causing the car to instantly stop. "Woah! Watch it!", I gasp, holding onto the door handle.
"Who told you she's my soulmate?!", my brother shoots the question in a serious tone.
"Hey, calm down! Cassie just said that you two are soulmates.", I scold him. "I actually liked the word she used..."
"Listen to me", Shawn turns to face me. "No matter what she says, Cassie and I are Only in love...like normal people do. We are like any other normal couple. Nothing special. Normal."
I shake my head at his words, "Okay... Okay... Calm down. I know you are normal."
He takes a deep breath and gives me a last stare before starting to drive again. This is how Shawn is. He sometimes freaks out for no reason and starts emphasizing that we are Normal. I too used to find it weird at first but...now I think he does it just because he is traumatized by our past struggle. It's like he wants to remind himself that in the end, he is still a normal human who deserves happiness.
Soon we reach the college and get out of the car. "Yay! Finally here. Isn't that right, brother~?", I give a teasing smile to the lover boy who instantly blushes. He waves his hand in the air as an 'It's-nothing-special' gesture before going to the back of the car to take out our suitcases. I look at the school and feel the warmth. I love staying in the dorm with Cassie. It's fun with friends.
I subconsciously grab my locket. It is a beautiful little wolf-shaped trinket. It is the last thing I have from mom... She gave it to me before...she died. My smile gets replaced by a frown. I don't have many memories of them...but I do know that they loved us.
"You ready?", Shawn's words bring me back to reality and I nod. He leads me to my dorm before placing my bags next to my bed. "You better head to your class.", he says before patting me on the head.
"Yeah, I am heading there right now. What about you?", I look up at him.
"Well, I'll first put my stuff in my dorm, and then...", his words trail off.
"And then..?", I asked with a teasing smile.
"I...", his cheeks turn red again, "I'll go check on Cassie. I thought she would be here already."
I cross my arms, "Oh, is that why you insisted on carrying my bags for me?"
"Hey! It's not like you won't be checking on Josh!", he tries defending himself.
Now it was my turn to blush. "No... I'll be going straight to my class."
"Why not?", he asks in a concerned voice. "Is everything alright between you two? Do you need me to punch him in the face?", he rolls up the sleeve of his shirt.
I quickly place my hands on his arm, "No no! Everything is fine! You don't have to worry." Poor Shawn...He is always concerned about me. I mean...I can't blame him. I'm the only family he has...and I got him.
"Fine. I'll come to your class later to check on you.", he says before glancing at my schedule.
"Sure! And bring Cassie with you too.", I tease him again which worked...again.
He leaves my dorm and closes the door behind him. I love the way he blushes every time I mention Cassie. I am really grateful to her. After our parents died, Shawn had become quite cold...and was always on his toes. I knew he pretended to be strong on the outside but on the inside...he was shattered... He used to be worried about me all the time. I hated to see him like that. I felt like...'The happy and fun' Shawn...died with our parents...but Cassie came into his life like an angel. She brought his happiness back. She brought light back into his world...so yes, she is what she calls herself, His Soulmate.
I check myself in the mirror one last time before heading for my class. On my way, I couldn't help but think about Josh. Joshua is my boyfriend. We have been in this relationship for almost 1 year now. He's in the same year as me. When we started dating, I was quite worried about Shawn freaking out about it but he didn't. In fact, he accepted Josh with open arms. I know why he did so though...because he had been miserable before Cassie came into his life. Cassie changed his life and he wanted the same for me.
Luckily, Josh has been a great partner to me. He has always been supportive and patient! Even after a year of relationship, we are yet to have our first kiss and he never forced me to either. He doesn't want to make me do something I'm not ready for...and this has never come between our relationship. I'm sure he will come to my class to see me.
As I walk closer to my class, a strange feeling starts rising in my chest. My heart starts pounding and I feel excited. A strong pull. He's in there. I shake my head at the strong feeling. This is weird... There is no one special in my class. And Josh can't be in there waiting for me...is he? With every step I take, the pull in my heart gets stronger. This feeling is so new to me!
As I slowly enter the class, my eyes quickly examine the room. Josh isn't here...Then why am I getting this strong feeling in my chest? It feels like my heart will jump out of my body. Like I have to be close to someone.
My eyes scan the class once again before they fixate on a new boy who was looking at me intensely. As our eyes meet...That's it. It's like time has stopped. Like everything around us faded away. Like nothing else in this world matters. Like the entire purpose of my existence became clear. Like I found what I had been looking for my entire life.
His soft curly black hair contrasted with his fair skin that lightly covered his forehead in a messy but enchanting way. His gray peepers are like mirrors for my soul to look into. His sharp jawline added to his perfection. I could almost hear his soft breath. It's Him.
What are you doing?! I am in a relationship with Josh! I shouldn't be staring at this boy like that! But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't peel my eyes away from his beautiful ones. He gives me a warm smile and all of my attention was on his lips. Those lips...that stretched into an amazing smile. I could actually feel how soft and warm they must be. I could imagine them moving to say my name. I could imagine them pressed gently against mine.
Wait WHAT?? Am I Actually thinking about kissing him?? A complete stranger? I haven't even kissed Josh yet! I haven't had my first kiss yet! How can I even think of this?? I'm not someone who cheats on their boyfriend! I quickly avert my eyes from his magnetic face. I could still feel his warm gaze on me. I slowly turn my head back to look at him but get brought out of the enchantment by the voice that came from behind me.
"Hey! Here you are", my brother walks into the classroom. I turn back and find him beaming with a smile. I know that smile. It means that the Loverboy has been reunited with his Soulmate.
"Shawn? What are you doing here?", I ask, almost panicking as if caught stealing ice cream from the fridge in the middle of the night. I mean...I Did get caught ogling at the sight of-- Never mind!
"What do you mean?", he tilts his head, "I did tell you that I'll come to check up on you."
I slowly nod, feeling embarrassed, "Right..."
Shawn leans closer before winking, "And I'm not alone."
"Hey Livia!", comes the voice as Cassie walks into the classroom. She was slightly shorter than Shawn. She seemed chirpy as always.
"Cassie!", I smile big before hugging her and she returns the hug wholeheartedly. Just like I said, that smile meant that the lover boy was reunited with his Soulmate.
That word immediately brought the new boy's face into my head and a blush on my face. As I pull away, I look at the happy couple. I know my brother got annoyed by the word but how else will you describe this relationship?
While I was thinking, I notice the boy standing up from his seat and walking over to us. My heart somersaults in my chest only by watching him come closer to us. I look at him and he gives me a perfect smile, taking all my attention to his lips once again.
