Miles frowned. “How come you didn’t give the kid your last name?”
“You have to ask?”
“Well, yeah. Most men want their children to carry their last name, especially their sons.”
“I don’t,” Jeff admitted. “The only thing I want is for my son to have a better life than what I had. My last name was tainted. I sure didn’t want to pass that on. But I can’t think of a better name than Conrad Miles Callan Adams. I’ve never known finer men, and I’ve never seen a more beautiful boy.”
“Handsome,” Miles corrected.
Jeff retrieved his cell phone. “Take a look for yourselves,” he said, passing around the birthing photographs.
“He is pretty,” Miles admitted.
“Gorgeous,” Connor agreed. “Are you sure he’s a boy?”
“Oh, yeah,” Jeff teased. “That’s why the last name is Adams. Turns out, he takes after the boss.”
