“Owen may have been part of something ugly. The detectives want me to come in and answer questions. They think Matthew’s death wasn’t an accident.”
Jean, who had felt apprehensive about the wedding happening between Owen and Tiff, had similar thoughts, but thought it best not to voice them until now.
“The more I see him, the more aggressive and scary he seems to be. I can’t help but sympathize for your sister.” She noticed that the sense of control Robert usually had over situations seemed absent, and she felt empathy for her husband that was just as rare as his lack of control. “Will you be all right?” she asked.
“Fine. Fine. I know what I need to do.”
