  About Author

  Stolen and Sold

S he’s dead because of me, and I’m not the least bit sorry.

This was not the life I envisioned when I first boarded Serendipity with the promise of a brand-new life in space. I didn’t plan on murdering anyone, but that’s exactly what happened. I also wasn’t planning to get caught, but such is my luck.

Say goodbye to my carefree life.

I’m quickly dropped off at the nearest space station and handed over to The Fleet to deal with. The military force on this high-tech utopia conveniently looks the other way when a chubby and disgustingly grubby alien steals me right from my cell.

It plans to sell me to the highest bidder, all so it can line its greedy little pockets with credits. It’s a shame that humans are a rarity in space because I’m bought for an outrageous sum that makes that shithole richer than God. And all I’m left with is a collar, unbreakable chains, and a one-way ticket to imprisoned hell.

Warning : This book is intended for mature audiences with its foul language, sexual scenes, and graphic violence. This is menage sci-fi omegaverse romance with MM scenes featuring a dominant and possessive alpha, a sweet and gentle omega, and a crazy wildcard female who’s struggling to adjust to life on an alien planet.

Trigger Warning : At the end of chapter 18 there is a scene depicting sexual assault/rape and it lasts until the first paragraph of chapter 19.

  Glossary

A llagi – Mutation from an airborne virus found on Strafor.

Allagim Flower – A flower that jumpstarts an omega and alpha’s season, estrous, or rut and primes their bodies for mating. It’s used to control the unpredictable heats so it doesn’t cause a frenzy within the village.

Alpha – The strongest of all three dynamics/mutations, they are more aggressive, faster, and have heightened senses.

Beta – Save for the physical alterations as a result of the Allagi mutation, beta’s are no stronger than a normal human. They don’t bond or have pairs.

  Click – A minute.

Communicator – A device that allows people to connect.

Compvid – A holographic tablet provided by Venya for the bids.

  Credits – Money; currency.

  Cycle – A full day.

Delk – A herbivore, a cross between a deer and an elk with dark green antlers, a pale pink coat, and a long tail.

Dranlox – A G.S.F. owned and operated spaceport.

Heat/Estrous – When an omega undergoes a biological function that primes their bodies for mating. It’s their breeding cycle that can last anywhere from two to seven days. The omegas are nearly mindless with need and crave an alphas knot and seed.

Holoscreen – TV viewed on a holographic platform.

  G.S.F. – Galactic Space Federation.

Neutralizers – A device that knocks the target unconscious, usually done with electricity.

Omega – Produce viable young, gender doesn’t matter, both male and female omegas can successfully deliver children so long as it’s an alpha who impregnates them.

Panthra – Similar to a black panther but larger with canines nearly eight inches long. The fur is dark purple in order to blend in with Strafor’s vegetation.

Remona – The habitual planet the residents of Serendipity were traveling too.

Replicator – A device that produces food or drink based on the recipes programmed into the machine.

  Rotation – An hour.

Rut – An alpha version of a heat. Alphas get more aggressive and dominant during their rut and are consumed with the need to mate with an omega. Can be drawn up with an omegas heat.

Serendipity – Spaceship relocating humans to Remona.

  Spacevac – Space trash compactor.

Straf – The main village/town on Strafor where the original colonists from Earth landed.

Strafor – Name of planet Lyra landed on, slightly lighter gravitational field than earth, air a little thinner, forest of pinks and purples.

Translator – A communication device implanted in the brain that automatically translates alien languages.

Venya – Auction on Dranlox spaceport.

  Breakdown of Omegaverse Terms

O megaverse - this trope features an alternate universe in which humans have a very similar biology and pack structure to wolves; typically there are betas, omegas, and alphas.

Alpha - they have the highest rank, are the most dominant and aggressive, and have a strong scent; they enter rut during an omegas heat.

Beta - essentially, they are basic humans.

Omega - they are considered the weakest, least dominant and aggressive, and have an equally strong scent that appeals to alphas particularly; they enter heats/estrous which is not as frequent as periods; they are very fertile during their heats and can be bitten and bound to an alpha.

Slick - this is secreted by omegas typically when they are in heat but it can also happen outside their heat in the presence of their bound alpha; sweet taste.

Heat/Estrous - affects only omegas; their bodies are at their prime breeding time and this involves at times, three days of high body temperatures and need before it passes; omegas during their heat desire an alpha to mate them, knot them, and breed them; this is when omegas are able to be bonded by an alpha’s bite and knot.

Scent Marking - using either the scent glands on their skin or the scent of their release, omegas and alphas can warn other contenders away; it is a way of showing ownership.

Rut - this is the alpha version of a heat; they get even more aggressive and possessive of omegas during this time; they are consumed with the need to breed.

Knot - alphas have a mass at that expands at the base of their cock that locks behind an omegas pelvic bone, tying an omega and alpha together during mating.

Bonding - an alpha can bite an omegas nape and break skin during their heat, this results in a claim, a bond; pheromones are secreted into the bite that warns other alphas away.

  Chapter 1

  Lyra

I didn’t mean to kill Aurora. Admittedly I had thought about it a time or two since our long journey through space began, but I’d never act upon it. For one, I couldn’t risk my place here aboard the Serendipity over her . Secondly, murdering someone was never something I thought I’d be able to stomach.

Lastly, murder is wrong—even her murder, no matter how well-deserved it would be.

But all of these valid points that had kept me from killing this bitch have gone out the window, because she’s dead, and I’m the one who accidently pushed her.

And I truly mean accidently ; This was no, “Teehee, I slipped and fell into her, which made her fall onto the spacevac button that sucked her out into our garbage compactor.” No, this was a, “Oh, fuc
k, watch out before I am forced to touch you as I trip over the fucking toolkit some moron left in the middle of the floor.”

She didn’t fucking listen. She didn’t fucking move! The stupid idiot just turned around with a sneer and that hissing thing she does and crossed her arms. So naturally, I fell into her and grimaced when my body made contact with hers, which led to me pushing her away. Aurora stumbled back and into the spacevac, and was sucked into an antechamber we use to break down trash.

Well, it certainly broke her down—into hundreds of itty-bitty pieces.

You know, when I envisioned her death, it wasn’t like this. Mostly I just daydreamed about a sudden natural disaster or a horrible illness befalling only her. Never in a million years did I picture her death to be so… bloody. Gorey. Nor would I have done it in this isolated wing where the evidence would lead back to me. There’s no fucking way I’d be that fucking stupid, because I’m methodical. Meticulous with details.

Now there’s nowhere for me to flee, and no way for me to escape my inevitable imprisonment.

Feet pounding against the metal floors herald my doom as they get closer to where I’m sealed in with a dead girl. Why couldn’t they have arrived to get us out of here sooner? Then we wouldn’t be in this predicament.

Better yet, why did I agree to come down to this wing in the first place? I should have ignored my orders and avoided this place like the plague. If only I’d had the fucking foresight to see what horrible fate awaited me, then I could have avoided this mess from the start.

What do I do? What the fuck do I do?

  Think, damn it. Think!

My palms sweat as I frantically consider my next steps. I can try like hell to talk my way out of this mess, but I wouldn’t believe me, if I were them. Technically I did push her into the damn spacevac, even if it wasn’t my intent to kill her.

Gods, I can’t lie to save my life, and clearly this is one of those moments where lying will save my fucking life. They’d sooner throw me in restraints and ship me off to the feds before they’d believe my stuttered explanation that I didn’t mean to fucking kill her. The entire bloody ship knows the two of us had beef. And what a horrible coincidence that we managed to get locked in together back here with no fucking witnesses.

  Fuck. My. Life.

I can’t catch a break. I’d thought this damn trip would miraculously turn my circumstances around, and so far, it’s only screwed me seven ways to Sunday. All I wanted was a better life—is that really too much to ask? Is there some deity out there who’s set on my destruction or something? Is my life a sick joke to the fucking universe?

My answering whimper is pathetic, but I can’t help it, nor can I help slapping my own face as if it will smack some sense into me. Newsflash, it doesn’t. It just makes my cheek throb.

The footsteps have stopped, and only silence remains. It’s so deafening that if it weren’t for the steady drip, drip of her blood from the spacevac ceiling behind the glass doors, I’d think I’d gone deaf.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and they won’t notice the massacre. Maybe if I talk loud enough and distract them long enough, I stop this from destroying my carefully built life aboard Serendipity .

My laugh is a little too high pitched and hysterical.

A loud bang on the faulty metal door at the far side of the room leading to freedom and away from the slowly decaying corpse of the bitch who tormented me through middle school, and again nearly twenty years later, makes me jump. I remember when I swore I’d get revenge if I ever saw her again when I was like, eleven, but it wasn’t supposed to put me in further trouble. She can’t help but ruin my life, even as a freshly dismembered flesh bomb.

  Damn it. Damn it all!

If she were still alive, I’d kill her again. Fuck her for robbing me of that pleasure.

  Bang! Bang!

I startle and spin around so fast my vision blurs.

Any second now, they’re all going to burst through that door and take me down like a football player. The biggest difference between me and those sports players—aside from them not having committed murder—is they get paid to be pushed around and dogpiled. I most certainly am not going to get a lick of money when my face connects the metal grate I’m standing on.

  Bang!

I pull my blonde hair and bite my lip hard enough to draw blood. Speaking of blood, I’m so fucking glad the spacevac door closed behind her, because I imagine being covered in her blood wouldn’t help my case.

  That’s it!

I slip my hand in my pocket and grip the pocket knife I always keep tucked in there. As a half-assed plan starts to filter through my hazy brain, I flip the blade open and hold it up to my other arm with shaking fingers.

  This plan could work.

No—this plan has to work. I reckon I only have a few short clicks before the people outside manage to bypass the doors’ auto lock mechanism and gain access to this room. I’ll need to work quickly if I’m to have any chance at success.

I grimace and bear down on the knife until my skin splits and blood wells. The sharp pain clears my head, and I manage to dig the blade in deeper until my blood rolls down my arm in little rivers, dripping off my fingers and hitting the floor with dull plops. A couple more slices should do it—on both arms to make it more believable, of course.

Just as I switch hands and press the knife to my other arm, I freeze. They have fingerprinting technology on board.

Fucking hell. When we boarded Serendipity , we were required to undergo a full screening, and that included fingerprint scanning. They will fucking know that I’m the only one who’s handled this stupid knife. There might be some fingers of hers still intact enough to get a good print, but I’d need two prints on the upper lip of the blade where you pull it out. The chances of me finding one finger will be challenging enough. Two, though? Not a chance in hell of that happening.

I just fucking cut myself for nothing.

This is what happens when I panic—logic flies out the window, and plans I think are brilliant and foolproof prove moronic.

I flip the blade closed and quickly shove it into my bra, hoping whoever is outside respects my privacy and doesn’t bother searching me there for the weapon. Hell, it’s totally possible they’ll be looking for a laser blade anyway and won’t think to search for an old-fashioned metal knife. Hardly anyone has one of those these cycles. In year 2704, no one bothers with primitive tools anymore.

  Well, no one but me.

  Whish!

The door sliding open makes me squeak, and I freeze.

This is it. Oh gods, this is it.

Five guards suddenly rush in and charge me and I can do nothing but stand there in shock, even as one of them jabs me with something that sends lightning through my veins. Instantly the world goes black around the edges and my knees give out. Before my face can connect with the floor, everything goes dark.

  Chapter 2

  Lyra

I press the off button on the communicator as quick as I can, heart pounding. Laughter in the living room bounces around inside my head, making me feel lonelier than ever. My family is so close, yet they feel so far away. I know it’s my own guilt and overwhelming embarrassment making me feel this way, but I can’t stop it. Not now. Not when my palms are slick with sweat and my forehead feels clammy.

I lean my head over the island and try to stem my racing thoughts and heart. Tears well in my deep blue eyes despite the fight I put up to keep them at bay. Shame burns through me like a hot hook, tearing at my insides and burning them to ash in one fell swoop.

I startle at my mother’s hand on my back. “Who was it?”

  ″ Aurora.”

That’s all I say; it’s all I need to say. She knows my darkest secret now, and so does my dad. They’re the only two who know about the horrible, horrible things I’ve done with her.

Instead of the disgust I expect to cross my mother’s face, all I see is understanding and sadness. I can’t stand to look, so I sharply glance away, ashamed of what part I had to play in it all.
