Every touch, every moan and every kiss made him more and more spellbound by her. His head was spinning in a delightful way. Oh, it felt so good that he lost track of time and place.

His shaft wasn't the only thing that ached anymore. His fangs ached too and he felt them grow. He had to pull away from her mouth. He didn't want to accidently pull blood from her. He doubted she would appreciate it even if she would feel no pain.

He rubbed himself against her core and felt a desperate need for a release. Her wild kisses and caresses turned him into a predator that only wanted two things. Her and her blood.

Every thought about not grazing her with his fangs left him when she bit him on the shoulder. Megan's legs were wrapped around him. He held her up with his inhuman strength against the wall and rubbed himself against her. Their clothes were in the way and it irritated him, but the only thing he could focus on was that she had just bitten him on the shoulder. She had opened his shirt and nipped hard enough for him to feel a wave of pleasure go right through him.

It didn't matter if she had been aware of the bite or not. What mattered was that she had done it, and because of that, he couldn't stop himself. He was no longer thinking when he raised his hand toward his shoulder. All thoughts about the hunt went away along with the sense of logic and intelligence. One of his nails turned into a claw and a second later he tore his skin open. A stinging feeling followed, but the blood that poured out calmed the pain. It was as if she knew what to do. He didn't need to tell her. She leaned forward and Jaromir felt her close her lips around his wound, sucking and drinking his blood.

  She moaned. He moaned.

Damn, how he wished their clothes weren't in the way. He ached to be inside of her, to pump inside her like a madmen while listening to her arousing sounds. Another wave of pleasure hit him, and he couldn't hold stop himself anymore. He pulled her hair away from her neck and struck. Her body flinched in his arms, but she didn't fight him. Instead, her body language begged him for more. She rubbed herself against his hard shaft, making him almost spill. His body shivered. Her body shivered, and together their bodies desperately cried out for more, but neither could stop from drinking the others blood.

They shouldn't be doing this because this created something. He couldn't put a finger on what though. His mind was too busy with other things. He didn't even react when he felt something click into place within him. All he knew what that she felt the same. He pushed the irrelevant thoughts away and kept on sucking her blood while she sucked his. They kept rubbing against each other, now with a frenzy. They couldn't stop. It felt too good, too damn good. The pleasure she gave him blew his mind and all he could do was ride along. His body didn't listen to reason. It hadn't listened from the very beginning. He had never lost his mind like this to a woman before. There was something about Megan that made him want to claim her more than anything. She was his. Period. If someone tried anything funny, limbs would fall.

Megan moans became louder and her body tensed. Her lips went still against his shoulder. He felt her breathing against his wound speed up and he knew what he had to do. He rubbed himself harder against her. Her body tensed even more and pride filled him when his woman cried out her pleasure. He had been the one to give it to her and it made him smile, but he wasn't far back himself. He hadn't been aware that it was possible to come like this, but all it took was a few more rubs against her and he exploded. He roared out, unable to stop himself from screaming out his pleasure. His knees almost gave in beneath him, but somehow he managed to stay standing while his mind went into a haze of lust.

The door banged open and Jillian's voice yelled out: “Jaromir! How dare you!”

  Chapter 14

Megan looked up from Jaromir's shoulder when the woman buzzed into the room with an angry look on her face. Jaromir was still in the middle of his orgasm and was unable to stop screaming out his pleasure. Megan didn't know where the feeling came from, but all of a sudden shame flooded her, but the feeling wasn't hers. Somehow, she knew it was Jaromir's shame. There was no doubt in her mind.

Megan felt exhausted, her head felt heavy and her body sated, for now. A wild possessiveness came over her, and she held on tight to him to show the woman that he was hers. He still held her in his arms while his body shook from his orgasm, and all Megan could do was look the pissed woman straight in the eyes. The woman crossed her arms, bit together her lips and waited.

Silence filled the room when Jaromir's roar died out. Megan heard his heavy breaths against her ear and she felt his chest come in contact with hers every time he breathed in.

At first he didn't move. The silence was almost suffocating. The tension in the air was heavy. Megan waited for a bomb to go off any second. Jaromir's shame subsided and now she could swear that he was pissed even if his face didn't show it, but he didn't move. It took yet another minute before he slowly let go of her legs and let her down, but he didn't pull away from her. He remained standing with his back toward the woman. Megan knew why. He had just had an orgasm and wasn't presentable, and neither was she. Jaromir's shoulder was bleeding. His shirt was pulled down from his shoulder and his face was flushed. She looked something like that as well.

Megan looked into his eyes, and he looked into hers. They never broke eye contact while Jaromir talked with the woman. His gaze told her he would fix everything, that she didn't have to worry.

  “Leave, Jillian,” he said.

Where Megan stood, she no longer could see the woman whose name apparently was Jillian. Jaromir hid the woman from view with his tall frame.

“No way!” Jillian protested. “You just gave her your blood while she took yours, you son of a bitch! How dare you do such a thing with someone you don't even know! And what's even worse ... you did it with a human!”

Jillian spitted out the word “human” with a disgusted face as if it was something dirty.

“Jillian, I'm only going to say this one more time. Leave!”

  “Forget it.”

Jaromir's body tensed and Megan watched him change into another type of predator. If she had thought that he had looked dangerous before, she had been mistaken. His eyes turned red, his fangs grew even longer and his claws turned razor sharp. Somehow she knew not to touch them, that a touch was deadly for a human, if the vampire wanted it to be. Somehow she knew that a vampire could release a poison through his claws to stop his enemy, and somehow she also knew that it was exactly what Jaromir was doing. Another thing she knew was that the poison wouldn't kill another vampire, but it would leave an impact. Megan had no idea how she knew these things. She just did. The knowledge seemed to come from the blue.

Jaromir corrected his pants. Luckily nothing was visible on the outside, but Megan knew that it wasn't comfortable for him with the result from his orgasm inside his underwear.

Jillian was irritating Megan. Who did she think she was? What right did she have to buzz inside the room without knocking? What pissed Megan off even more was that Jillian had, without any shame, watched Jaromir scream out his orgasm. That was unforgivable, but Megan knew that she didn't have to worry. Jaromir was already on it. He stood tensed and one move from Jillian would make him snap.

Shane rushed inside the room with a worried look in his eyes. He looked around.

“What is going on? I heard Jillian yell.”

Jillian answered: “He has bonded himself to a human! I smelled the exchange of blood when I crossed the room, and I had to stop the madness. Jaromir must have lost his mind.”

Bond? What bond? At first Megan didn't understand what they were talking about, but after a while it hit her. He had drunk her blood at the same time that she had drunk his, and that was where all these new emotions came from. The emotions were really Jaromir's. Somehow they had connected through the exchange of blood, and that was where all the knowledge came from.

Her mind was still foggy and she had a hard time following what was going on. One second she had been pissed at him, the other second they had kissed like maniacs and had almost made love. Once he had kissed her, her body had stopped listening to reason.

Did that mean that the hunt was still on, or had she lost?

Then she realized that she had actually drunk his blood! What had gotten into her? She was a human, not a blood-sucking vampire! And yet, she could still feel the taste of his blood on her tongue. It hadn't tasted as she had expected it to taste. It had been sweet and warm, and the memory of her lips against his shoulder made her long for more.

“Luckily, the bond isn't sealed,” Jillian went on. “He wasn't inside of her when they exchanged blood.”

  Shane looked worried. “Jaromir?”

“It's none of your damn business what I do or not do, Jillian.”

Jaromir turned around and made sure that Megan stayed behind him. Was he protecting her?

“What is going through your mind, my friend?” Shane asked.

  Jaromir hissed. “She's mine.”

Something inside of Megan hummed from satisfaction. She did like to hear that she was his because she considered him being hers too, in a possessive kind of way.

  Megan tensed.

Damn, that sounded so weird. It had to be the bond talking. What else could it be? She didn't even know the guy for heaven's sake! Yeah, she had gone crazy. There was no doubt about it. That was what happened to you after spending time inside a mad house filled with vampires, she told herself. She and Jaromir were definitely going to have a long and hopefully nice talk when this was over. She was sure that he had used his powers on her.

“It's only a hunt, Jaromir,” Shane said. “The hunt has awakened primitive vampire traits within you. You should calm down and not touch the human anymore. That way the bond will fade soon.”

Jaromir hissed again, louder this time. He pulled Megan into his arms and held her tight while he glared at Shane and Jillian. “Touch her and you're dead.”

Surprise filled Shane's eyes and he stared at Jaromir. This situation had to be unusual among vampires considering how Shane reacted to Jaromir's words. She had expected anger, and not surprise. Shane looked like as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

But then Shane looked at her, and he looked a little bit too long. There was something in his eyes. At first there was suspiciousness before a thought of deeper meaning seemed to cross his mind. He nodded to himself and then he looked her over as if he was judging her. Megan gulped. What was he judging her for? This wasn't some kind of beauty contest!

Jillian reacted differently to Jaromir's words. She hissed back before she attacked. Megan hadn't seen it coming, but thankfully Jaromir had. He pulled her away from him at the same moment Jillian threw herself at him. Megan didn't need to think twice to know that Jillian had aimed for her, but Jaromir had placed himself in the way. Jaromir's hard push made Megan land on the floor.

“Shit,” she cursed and turned her head to watch Jaromir and Jillian.

Jillian attacked him like crazy. She hissed and screamed while pure anger and madness radiating from her. She behaved even crazier than Jaromir had when he had stated that Megan was his.

The world of the vampires became more and more clear to Megan. Jillian wanted Jaromir for herself, she maybe even loved him. Jillian wasn't going to stand by and watch a human take what was hers. Instead, she would fight to the death.

Jillian turned toward her, ready to attack. Megan gasped and backed away when Jillian launched at her. Jaromir was faster and grabbed Jillian by the waste to hold her back.

  “Run, Megan!” he yelled.

Megan didn't hesitate. She got up on her feet and ran out of the room.

  Chapter 15

Jillian was no match for Jaromir. She was strong, but he could easily wrestle her down, and that was exactly what he did. He needed her to calm down, and he needed to calm himself to understand what had just happened.

He grabbed Jillian by the throat and pinned her to the floor. “One move and I will break your neck.” He looked up at Shane. “Go after Megan. Tell her not to leave. Tell her that the hunt is still on.”

Shane didn't move from the spot. He stared at Jaromir with a serious gaze. His eyes asked what was going on. He wanted answers. Jaromir looked down at Jillian to avoid Shane's gaze. He had no answers to give right now.

“Go,” he demanded and Shane finally left the room. “Now it's just you and me, Jillian.”

She flashed her fangs and hissed. She was still in a fighting mode, but he had lost all his will to fight. Instead, his head was filled with images of sweet Megan who had driven him into a maddening passion. It had been a bliss, a desire so wild that he hadn't been able to stop himself. He couldn't even remember what had crossed through his mind when he had allowed her to drink from him while he taken her blood. He knew very well that it created a bond, but to exchange blood was also sacred among vampires. It only happened between those who swore loyalty, love and trust to the other for the rest of their life. The bond created a mental connection so strong that only death could break it. The bond he now had with Megan wasn't set, just like Jillian had said, but it was as strong as any other bond. He didn't want it to fade.

Jaromir closed his eyes and felt Megan's emotions within him. She was scared, but feisty and filled with determination. But there was also sadness and confusion. It was a mess of emotions, and she didn't know what to do.

Jaromir realized that he enjoyed feeling her emotions, to feel her this close to him. He also realized that he could keep pushing what he knew aside and pretend like it wasn't happening, but he knew very well what was happening. Every part of his body screamed it. He just had to make his mind understand it as well.

  Megan was his mate.

That was the only thing that could explain his actions. It was time to stop denying it. Somehow he would fix all this and make Megan see that she belonged with him. But right now all this was to her was a hunt, a way to save her sister. For him, these few hours had become so much more.

  But first ...

Jaromir squeezed his hand tighter around Jillian's throat. “I never believed that you were this stupid, Jillian. Do you think that I will forgive you for walking in on me and Megan?” She opened her mouth to answer, but he didn't let her by covering her mouth. “Save it. I'm not interested in hearing what you have to say.”

Jillian pushed his hand away. “You are a big liar, Jaromir. You said this was nothing but a hunt, that she would be gone when it was over.”

Jaromir snorted. He remembered saying that, but much had changed since then, even if it was just a moment ago. “What do you have against Megan? You don't even know her. You haven't even spoken with her.”

“She's a woman, and a human, but a woman above all ... and she's getting something she doesn't deserve.”

Jillian sounded furious and Jaromir could see both pain and anger radiate from her eyes. Jillian was jealous, and it made him sigh heavily. Apparently it didn't matter how many times he told her that it was over between them. She would never accept that, even if they haven't been lovers for almost a decade. He'd had these discussions with Jillian way too many times, and he was sick of them. And above all, he didn't have the time for this right now. The hunt was still on, and he needed to get to Megan. His body was screaming for her, and so was the bond. It was pulling at him, telling him to get up on his feet and go after his woman instead of wasting time on Jillian.

  Yes, his woman.

Amazing how fast things could change in a matter of a few hours.

“I'm going to let you go,” he hissed between his teeth. “And if I ever see you near Megan again ...”

Her eyes narrowed. “Are you threatening me?”

  “Oh yes.”

He roughly let go of her throat and stood up. Jaromir didn't spare Jillian a last look before he left the room.

  Chapter 16

Megan headed for the stairs. She had to get out of here. She should never have come here. It had been a huge mistake, and now she was paying for it big time. What had gone through her head when she had drunk from his shoulder? Apparently nothing because she had just done it. Just like that, without asking any questions. That bastard had used his powers on her. It was all his doing. It pissed her off. It made her want to scream out loud, but then every vampire in the building would turn their attention to her, and she didn't want that.

It was all Jaromir's fault that she felt like she was being torn apart on the inside. All she really wanted was to turn around and return back into that room. She wanted and needed him so badly that it literally hurt. Her heart was beating so fast and hard that she thought it might burst any minute. She wanted to stop thinking and just cuddle in his warm embrace. It had been the most wonderful sexual experience she had ever had, and it didn't matter if he had made her feel like that or not. It had felt real enough.

Megan sobbed and held back her tears. This was no time for tears. She had to get out of here with her pride intact. The hunt had been a complete failure. She hadn't been able to resist him, not even the tiniest bit. As soon as he had looked at her and touched her, she had turned into an emotional mess. She had found herself within his arms without a second thought. And now her sister was going to die.

“Stupid, stupid, stupid,” she said to herself while heading down the stairs. “Stay strong. Just stay strong. Collapsing you can do at home.”

She straightened her back and took a deep breath while looking in front of her. Just a few more steps and she would be on the bottom floor. The party going on came into view along with the dancing and talking vampires.

“Stay strong,” she repeated to herself, but holding those damn tears away was difficult. It was only about a hundred feet to the exit. Once she was out, she could make a run for it and never look back. Jaromir had probably already forgotten about her or maybe he was having a good time laughing about that little human who had tried to take his blood to save her sister.
