CHINESE DEFENSE MINSTER THREATENS TO ATTACK TAIWAIN

Chinese National Defense Minister Li Shangfu told attendees at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore that the communist nation’s military would attack “without any hesitation” against any allies of Taiwan seeking to support the nation’s independence from Beijing.
Li said, “China calls for mutual respect which should prevail over bullying and hegemony, fairness and justice should transcend the law of the jungle, eliminating conflicts and confrontation through mutual trust and consultation and preventing bloc confrontation with openness and inclusiveness.”
“If anyone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese military will resolutely safeguard China’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity without any hesitation, at all cost, and not fearing any opponent,” the Defense Ministry quoted Li as saying. The press statement from the Ministry on Li’s speech emphasized his remarks on Taiwan, rather than his called for Chinese communists’ definition of “peace.”
“How to solve the Taiwan question is Chinese people’s own business, which brooks no foreign interference,” Li reportedly said. “The authorities of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) seek independence by colluding with foreign forces and some external forces use Taiwan to contain China. They are the biggest troublemakers in changing the status quo across the Taiwan Strait.”
TAIWAN AIR DEFENSES ACTIVIATED AFTER DOZENS OF CHINESE MILITARY AIRCRAFT FLY NEAR ISLAND

Taiwan on Thursday activated its defense systems after detecting dozens of Chinese warplanes in the island’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ).
Starting at 5 a.m. local time, Taiwan’s defense ministry detected 37 Chinese air force planes, including J-11 and J-16 fighter jets, H-6 bombers, YU-20 military transport planes and AWACS surveillance aircraft in the island’s southwest airspace.
Also as of late, Beijing has taken aggressive new actions in the Taiwan Strait, last week overtaking a U.S. destroyer in an almost unprecedented maneuver.
The incident has escalated Beijing’s routine harassment in the international waterway at a low point in diplomatic relations between Beijing and Washington.
FITCH DOWNGRADES THE UNITED STATES’ LONG-TERM-RATINGS
TO 'AA+' from 'AAA'

The rating downgrade of the United States reflects the expected fiscal deterioration over the next three years, a high and growing general government debt burden, and the erosion of governance relative to 'AA' and 'AAA' rated peers over the last two decades that has manifested in repeated debt limit standoffs and last-minute resolutions.
Erosion of Governance: In Fitch's view, there has been a steady deterioration in standards of governance over the last 20 years, including on fiscal and debt matters. The repeated debt-limit political standoffs and last-minute resolutions have eroded confidence in fiscal management. In addition, the government lacks a medium-term fiscal framework, unlike most peers, and has a complex budgeting process.
Rising General Government Deficits: We expect the general government (GG) deficit to rise to 6.3% of GDP in 2023, from 3.7% in 2022, reflecting cyclically weaker federal revenues, new spending initiatives and a higher interest burden.

Discussions on collapse often turn to signs and signals - The economy, politics and social tensions have become increasingly unstable for many years now, and much like adding more and more weight to a man standing on a frozen lake, eventually the ice is going to break. The question is, how do we know when that moment will be?
As cultural systems begin to dissolve due to political clashes and economic decline the real evil tends to slither out of the woodwork. It happens slowly at first, then all at once. A sure sign of accelerating collapse is the growing prevalence of psychopaths and psychopathic behavior in the open.
The US appears to have entered the middle stages of such a collapse with many sociopaths and psychopaths beginning to feel that they might be able to act out their worst impulses without consequences. They are beginning to test the waters to see what they can get away with.
