A movement caught his eye as he saw Ria walk towards him carrying a small overnight bag. Yes, he definitely felt like a teenager again. He felt struck speechless by her. He got out of the car quickly to open the door for her.
‘You look beautiful Ria.’ He noticed her blush rising on her cheeks, she obviously still wasn’t used to his compliments. Well, that was going to change, he would make sure of it. ‘Your chariot awaits, my lady!’
‘Thank you.’
Ria slid into the beautiful interior of the car. Taking a deep breath to calm her nerves, she watched while Morgan walked back around the front of the car. Her stomach did a little flop. Gosh he was so handsome. He affected her in a way that no one had before. It was so hard to distinguish all the feelings she was experiencing. She so wished that she had been able to chat to Tom before tonight. She placed her hand on her fluttering belly, no Karen was right, as far as her experiences went, she did love Morgan and she was looking forward to tonight. It was what she wanted; otherwise, she would not be here now in the car with him.
Morgan slid into the car next to her. He placed his hand on her leg and felt a slight jump under his palm. So she was still nervous. He did not want her to be, he decided that nerves were not an option now or ever. He kept his hand on her leg and then turned so that he could give her a light kiss on her lips. ‘I hope you are hungry. I have a feast ready for tonight. Your parents are fine with you staying over?’
Ria swallowed the feeling of discomfort. Why on earth had she started this lie? Why hadn’t she been honest with her parents? Morgan would not be happy if he found out her parents did not know he was with him. She would have to say something without lying to him.
‘They told me to have a nice night.’ Which they had, but obviously thinking she was going out with Karen.
Morgan removed his hand to put the car into gear. ‘Come on then, I’m starving!’
Chapter 33
Tom was tired. Work had not been a bundle of laughs recently. Never mind, after his mother’s food, he was off out with that sexy Hollie from work. They had been flirting with each other for a couple of months now and now he was taking her out at long last. Tom smiled, he was looking forward to the evening.
He stood on the curb ready to cross. A familiar car caught his eyes. Inside he caught sight of the colour of his sister’s hair. Her head was thrown back in a laugh. Obviously that Templeton man was keeping her entertained. Tom hurried his steps to get home.
Tom had not even hung his coat up before questioning his mother, ‘Mam, where’s Ria off to tonight?’
‘Oh, she’s going with Karen to the cinema. Staying over too, as it is the weekend. Why love?’
‘Karen? Nothing Mam. Just thought I saw her earlier on.’
His stomach clenched. It was her, but she was definitely not with Karen. Ria lying to their mother, it was so unlike Ria.
Suddenly, Tom was uncomfortable with the thoughts he had been having about the fun he was going to have with Hollie. Surely that Templeton guy would be having those same thoughts about his sister? He knew Ria had been out with boys before so why was he so unsettled and so tense tonight? The reason came to him quickly. His little sister had gone out with boys before, not an experienced man, who surely had more than kissing on his mind!
Chapter 34
Ria stepped into the room and gasped. The room had it lights turned down low. It was full of modern furniture. Everywhere was plastic, Formica and plywood. An uneasy thought of wow, to have this much fashionable furniture they must be rich flowed through Ria. She shook it off as her enjoyment of the room was too much.
‘You have a TV!’ Ria walked over to the set that sat in the corner of the room. She bent down and saw her smiling reflection on the convex screen.
‘Yes, my Mum had to have it to watch the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth about four years ago. My poor Dad never heard the end of it. I don’t think I have heard her nag so much since she wanted a washing machine.’
Ria’s mouth rounded. ‘Ah! A washing machine too! You’re lucky. All we got for the Coronation was the extra pound of sugar and four ounces of margarine we had on top of our usual rations! Although, Mam did make an amazing cake with the extra goodies. I am so glad that rations have finished now.’
She whirled around, excitement across her face. ‘What an amazing chair to sit on – it looks like it is your fathers? Can I try it?’
‘Yes, Mum had it sent from America for my Dad’s 50th Birthday. It is a Eames lounger, not that it means anything to me!’
Ria carefully lowered herself onto the black leather chair and ran her hand over the shiny moulded plywood. She picked up her feet and placed them on to the ottoman that accompanied the seat.
‘I could get used to this,’ she said giving a little giggle as she stretched her arms into the air.
Morgan looked at the pure enjoyment on her face, it was like watching a child in a playground. She was so fascinated by all the modern furniture.
Ria suddenly looked at Morgan and saw something flitter across his eyes. What was it? Whatever it was, it suddenly made her uncomfortable; she quickly got up from the chair.
Morgan was confused by the sudden change in her manor. Was it the wealth differences again? Morgan tried to change the conversation. The discrepancies in their wealth and possessions did not worry him at all, but it was something he did not want to dissect too much at the moment.
‘Come on, let’s go into the kitchen.’ He gently took her hand and led her through the door leading to the kitchen. If Ria had noticed the new Formica kitchen that his mother had just had fitted, Morgan was quietly pleased she did not mention anything, he wanted her to feel at home not intimidated.
Set off in the corner was a lovely table that had been set with beautiful silverware and plates. Ria slowly walked over to the table and ran her fingers along the delicate tablecloth. ‘You did all this for me?’
‘Well, I did have a little help, but I only thought of you. ’ Morgan pulled out a seat by the table for Ria to sit on.
He picked up the bottle of wine and filled the glasses, ‘Is the wine good enough for you my lady?’ He teased as he watched her take her first sip. Morgan watched her lips touch the rim of the glass, he cursed under his breath. He wanted to kiss them. Before his desire took hold, he turned towards the kitchen. ‘Wait there, your starter is coming up now.’
The food had been delicious; the company wonderful. Ria was sure her ribs were hurting from all the laughing they had done during the meal, reminiscing about their childhoods.
After desert Morgan lead her to sit on the sofa. Soft classical music was playing in the background. Ria did not know what it was, but it made her relax.
‘You don’t know how many times I have pictured you sitting on here with me.’ He refilled her wine glass. ‘I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind since the Christmas kiss under that mistletoe.’
He wanted her to relax. He had noticed the slight tremble of her hand. ‘You looked so beautiful, you took my breath away.’ He started to rub his fingers over her ear lobe.
‘You had come with that beautiful blond lady. She was gorgeous.’
Morgan had to supress his smile when she looked as though she was pouting. ‘Is that jealousy I detect?’ He teased, as he slowly started to slide out her hairpins, one by one.
‘No, I….. um.’ Ria was kicking herself for not finding a suitable answer. The feel of his hands playing with her sensitive lobes and hair was making it hard to think!
Morgan’s eyes continued to look directly at her, a faint smile on his lips. ‘Let me assure you that you are the one I want, no one else. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. You are the one I dream about making love to, no one else.’
His fingertips were delicate whispers on the back of her neck now, sending shivers of desire down her spine.
Morgan gently took the wine glass that Ria was holding in front of her like a shield. He placed it on the coffee table. He had had enough of seeing her lips on the glass, now it was his turn. When he turned back around to her, he gently placed a warm, wine flavoured kiss on her lips. ‘You don’t know how long I have been looking forward to doing that. I spend my waking hours wanting to kiss your beautiful lips and I spend my dreams being haunted by them. I am so happy you are going to be spending a night with me.’
Ria slightly panicked.
‘Don’t be frightened of me, I would never do anything to hurt you,’ he whispered into her ear.
Morgan wanted to go slowly. He wanted to show her the softer side of loving. Over the months, he had realised that he was much more experienced than Ria and that she was slightly nervous about. It was something he sensed when she always backed away when things got slightly out of hand. He wanted her to want him as much as he wanted her, but he knew patience was required too. What was happening felt so right to him; he hoped it did for Ria. He wanted her to belong to only him and him only to her. He was feeling pleased that he had been to see her parents and asked to marry her. Now, he just needed to ask her, when the time was right.
As Morgan continued giving feather light kisses over her face and neck, Ria started to relax. Waves of ecstasy washed through her, each wave making her more pliable to his touch.
He could feel the rapid beat of her heart through her clothes and loved the fact that she was getting as aroused as he was. He saw her eyes drift shut in pleasure and noticed the hammering of her pulse under his moist lips. He possessively returned his lips to hers, his physical desire moved to a higher level.
Ria suddenly felt slightly overwhelmed. Slight panic in the direction the night was heading, she tried to push back her aroused desire.
He felt her still in his embrace. ‘What’s wrong? Am I hurting you?’ Morgan could see the flush of passion on her face and her lips were still swollen from his. He looked at her, desire still bright in his eyes, trying to see why she had stopped.
‘I, no, it’s just……’ Ria struggled to look at him directly. She knew what Morgan would be expecting from her when she agreed to stay the night. She felt young and foolish. She did want him desperately, she trusted and loved him. But how did he feel about her? He had told her numerous times that he wanted her, but did he love her?
Morgan tried to alleviate her anxieties. ‘I want you like I’ve never wanted anyone before.’ He watched as uncertainty flickered over her face. ‘But I also know you are fairly old fashioned in your views.’
The statement hurt Ria. What did he want, a more ‘experienced’ woman?
Morgan watched the apprehension flicker across her face as she chewed her bottom lip. He placed his finger under her chin and kissed the end of her nose. He was not doing such a good job. He really wanted her to know how much he wanted her, not to upset her. ‘Hey listen, that is nothing to be ashamed of. I love the fact that I will be your first. But I also want more than that. I love you Ria. More than words can describe, so perhaps actions are better.’
He got off the sofa. ‘I would also like you to become my wife.’ He reached for his jacket that was lying on the back of the sofa and reached inside his pocket. He opened a small navy box, while watching her reaction. Inside was a beautiful solitaire diamond ring.
‘It was my Grandmothers. If you don’t like it – you can choose something else.’ Morgan was taken aback – he was shocked at how nervous he felt, the butterflies flitting around his stomach.
Ria stared wide eyed at him, shock rippling through her system. ‘I….I… it’s beautiful….I… um………’ Her hands flittered over the box and then she clasped them to her chest to stop the shaking.
Morgan recognised the panicked look on her face. He got down on one of his knees and took one of her trembling hands. He placed the ring on her finger.
‘Victoria Dillwyn, will you do me the great honour of becoming my wife?’
‘Yes, yes of course!’ She pulled him up and wrapped her arms around his neck, tears falling down her checks. Her head was swimming, he loved her and wanted to marry her!
‘It is a little big on you. Your fingers are much smaller than my Grandmothers were. I will have it made smaller, if you like this one and do not want a new one, of course.’
Ria looked at the engagement ring, she loved it. She loved it more that it was a special one to Morgan. ‘This one is just wonderful. I would never want any other.’
She placed it back into the little box, Morgan snapping the lid closed and putting it on the side table.
Ria’s hands slipped around his neck, her fingers entwining in the thickness of his black hair. She pulled his mouth to hers. She needed to feel close to him, she wanted to. She felt overwhelming joy. Ria wanted those new feeling to be released in her body again. This time she only had a moment of panic, perhaps he would not notice, or even mind, her inexperience, she just needed to let her body feel instead of think. He wanted to marry her!
Everywhere his hard body came in contact with her soft form, a heat crept into him. It spread tingling through his bloodstream. She was lying under him on the sofa. Desperate as he was to loose himself in her, he knew that he wanted her first time to be in the comfort of a bed.
‘Let’s take this to the bedroom.’ He stood up and offered her his hand. He gently held her hand as he took her up the stairs.
Ria looked around the bedroom, a masculine one of dark blues. A little nervousness reappeared in her stomach. She pressed her hands on it to stop the fluttering, while trying to tell herself to calm down. He wanted to marry her, this was not a sordid little fling.
Morgan noticed Ria placing her hands on her stomach and knew that her nervousness had come back. He walked over slowly, gave her a gentle hug and kissed her temple. When he felt her relax a little, he rained more kisses around her face.
‘Are you sure about this?’ he whispered between the kisses. ‘Even though I think it will kill me, you can change your mind.’ Morgan was desperately hoping that she would not.
‘Yes, I’m sure.’
Morgan saw the love in her eyes and hoped she could see the same in his. He gently eased her back onto the bed, sank into the mattress beside her. Her eyes closed as his mouth wandered over her face with little kisses. The caress of his lips on her neck made her open up for easier access to nibble at her ear lobe. Soon, the wandering kisses returned to the possession of her mouth. His tongue gently parted her lips as he changed his angle. Soon, her tongue was joining in, twisting around his. Morgan felt the heat through her clothes from her wherever he touched. He needed to touch her skin. He carefully started to slip her clothes off, one button at a time, trailed by moist kisses.
Her body felt as though it had hot lava running through her veins. Making everywhere he touched, sweetly hot. She felt his nimble fingers slowly undo each button of her blouse. A hot burning was taking over her body. Her mind felt vulnerable and fuzzy, but she trusted him enough to follow wherever he wanted to take her.
Her skin reminded him of velvet. He marvelled at her quivers that responded to his feather- like kisses. He gently pushed her blouse to the side to expose the bare alabaster skin of her rib cage. Kissing this sensitive area his other hand gently cupped her breast in the cradle of his hand. Her breast swelled as his hand took the weight, desperate for attention. He raised over her, erotically sliding his tongue under the lace of her bra to tease her hardening nipple.
She thought she was going mad with longing, for the first time in her life she couldn’t help but just surrender to her physical desires. She helped remove the offending garment. As if understanding her wishes, Morgan started to circle her buttoned nipple with his thumb, giving it the attention it needed. A glorious groan escaped her lips when he moved over to the opposite nub, gently moistening it with his wet tongue then blowing on it. He saw the flickers of desire in her half closed eyes as he took it into his warm mouth and sucked as a groan escaped her lips. He wanted flesh, the taste of it, the feel of it in his mouth.
She needed to get him closer. All her instincts were telling her what to do, even though she was being swamped with emotions and sensations new to her. She pulled his head back up to her lips, her hand slid under his open shirt. She needed to touch him, to share some of the pleasures she was feeling. She groaned, she felt how hot the taut muscles of his back were, strong and hot. She shuddered with the intense longing to belong to him, she wanted him, all of him and was ready to give him all of herself.
‘You know that I want to make love with you? To take you over that delicious peak with me?’ His voice was low and husky in his request.
She looked into his blue eyes filled with loving and desire. They told her everything she needed to know.
‘Yes.’
Chapter 35
Morgan switched off the car engine a street away from her house. He had wanted to take her to her door, but she had insisted that he dropped her off here.
He smiled as he remembered how he had woken her up this morning. He had wanted her almost straight away after the first time, but he realised that she would be tender. So he had curbed his desires and been content in having her lie in his arms for the night. It was the first time in his life he had felt content to cuddle with a woman for the night. He was not so rude as to turn away from a woman as soon as he had made love to them, but he never before not wanted to let them go.
He had watched her this morning, while she slept still wrapped around him. He smiled again, it had not taken him long to get her from lazy, sleepy, relaxed state to one full of passion. He could not get enough of her. Good job she was going to be his forever now.
‘Remember now, 10 o’clock at the beach. I’ll bring something to eat as my parents left too much in the fridge.’
He looked at Ria, a little concerned that she kept her eyes lowered and was worrying her bottom lip. She looked so vulnerable. How could she look so unsure after what they shared last night and this morning?
