“I like your seat,” I mutter into her hair, grabbing her ass.

“You keep that up, we’ll never get to breakfast,” she giggles.

Her voice is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard.

“Promise?” I tease, catching her ear lobe between my lips.

“Go sit,” she orders, with a grin, pointing her spatula at the kitchen table.

“Yes ma’am,” I agree. “But first, tell me where the coffee mugs are, so I can pour us some coffee.”

She tells me and I pour two cups, setting them down on the table. Callie fills our plates – eggs, buttered toast, bacon, and a blueberry muffin – and brings them to the table, kissing me after she sets them down.

“You’re the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” I say, watching her ease into her chair.

We were up for much of the night, and she’s walking a little bit funny today. Makes a man feel good.

“I’m glad you’re into messy hair and no makeup,” she laughs. “That makes my life easier.”

“You look amazing no matter what you do,” I say, digging into my breakfast.

I’m starving. The two of us worked up good appetites and after breakfast, I’d be ready for more, but Callie has to work, so I’ll have to wait.

“I need to talk to you about something,” Callie says, staring at me while munching a strip of bacon.

“Geez, girl, don’t you know that those are the scariest words that a woman can say to a man?” I say, nearly spitting out my coffee.

“Don’t worry,” she says. “It’s not bad. At least I don’t think it is. I need your help with a decision.”

She looks up at me with those big beautiful eyes and my heart stops.

“Uh…Callie, I thought you said that you were protected,” I say, my appetite suddenly gone.

“Not that kind of decision, silly,” she cracks up, and my heart starts beating again. “It’s a work thing.”

  Callie

I figure that it’ll be easier to talk to Blake about my job offer if he has some food in his stomach, so I wait until we’ve had some breakfast before I bring it up.

“So, Taylor Framden from the TV show Personal Spaces called me yesterday, and he wants to interview me to see if I want to work with him on the show,” I blurt out, not knowing how to break it gently.

  Blake puts down his fork.

“Are you serious?” he says, eyebrows raised.

I nod, holding my breath, waiting for his reaction.

“Callie, that’s amazing! So what’s the decision that you need help with? What to wear for your interview?” he teases, grinning.

“So you think I should do it?” I clarify, my heart beginning to pound with excitement.

“I think you’re crazy if you don’t,” he reaches over and squeezes my hand, then goes back to eating. “That’s incredible,” he enthuses, his mouth full.

“But…what if I have to move to New York?” I say softly, fearing his answer.

“We’ll make it work,” he swallows his bite and says gently. “I just found the love of my life. You’re not going to get away with going to New York and leaving me behind,” he says, his heart in those mesmerizing eyes.

“Maybe they’ll let me fly back and forth or something,” I say, thrilled to pieces that Blake, my love, is fully on board.

“Maybe so. Tell Mr. Taylor Framden that you’ll be there for the interview, and I’ll take you out to celebrate when you get back,” he picks up my hand and kisses it.

“Really?” I ask, thanking my lucky stars.

Finally, a wonderful man loves me as much as I love him.

“Really,” he nods, and I can tell he means it.
