From the moment Casca ran his spear through the torso of Jesus, the
self-proclaimed "Son of God," he began an endless lifelong journey
filled with war, death, love, and heartache. At every turn of his sword,
at every miraculously healed wound on his body, at every escape from
death, the words of Jesus echoe madly through his mind, "Soldier, you
are content with what you are. Then that you shall remain until we meet
again." After the crucifixion of Jesus, Casca's first love and
home-the Roman tenth legion-is cruelly seized from him when he defies
authority and responds to untimely opposition with murder, landing him a
life sentence of slavery. However, what he deems the end of his life is
only the beginning. Spanning a journey of one-hundred and fifty years,
his battles take him from the great empire of Rome to Greece, Khmer,
Vietnam, and finally to Israel. Defying the torture of never ending
sameness, a man who cannot die, does not age, and lives by the sword,
can only become known as THE ETERNAL MERCENARY.
