The Murderess, page 9
part #1 of Courtesan Slave Trade Series
Rhys and four men busted open the front door, guns drawn as they fired off several rounds of ammunition. Four additional soldiers followed inside to sweep the facility.
Aaron kept Lorelei outside, shielding her as she stood behind him. He couldn't worry about the others or Sabrina and Riley. He tried to ignore the fact they stood at the opposite side of the building. Riley held the pistol in her grip, looking ready to shoot anyone that moved without warning. He just hoped it wouldn't be aimed at Lorelei or himself.
"You don't have to protect me," Lorelei said. She rested a gentle hand on Aaron's shoulder. "I'm a big girl."
He smiled glancing ever so briefly over his shoulder at her. "I know. I just want to bring you home without any scars. You have enough of them as it is." She may not have had physical scars but he knew there had to be emotional ones from her time as a slave, her parent's murders, and her uncle selling her. She'd been through so much; all he wanted to do was protect her.
She dropped her hand and a second series of gunshots went off.
Aaron wanted to go inside and help, but he had his orders. He respected Rhys's decision to keep him outside and watch the house.
From above, an older gentleman climbed out the window and walked onto the ledge of the roof.
Two rebel soldiers pointed guns from the second story out the open window. "Get back inside!" Rhys shouted.
"Over my dead body!" The man had thick black hair, slung past his shoulders and dark seedy blue eyes. His skin was pale with five o'clock shadow around his jaw line and a mass of tattoos covering his arms.
Lorelei lifted the gun. "You bastard!" she screamed, cocking off the safety and pulling the trigger.
The prince's eyes widened in horror. What had she done? Why shoot an unarmed man?
From the upstairs window, Rhys locked eyes on Aaron and Lorelei. He would undoubtedly have questions about what just happened. So did Aaron.

"Tell me why you shot the man escaping from the roof. Not that I think he'd have survived the jump without sustaining some injuries, but you killed him before we had time to even witness the act." Rhys's arms were crossed and his head bent down, staring into her blue eyes. "You owe me an honest explanation."
A grim expression had found its way to Lorelei's face. "That man was my uncle. The bastard killed my parents and sold me into slavery so he could have a few bucks. I couldn't let you put him away in some makeshift prison that he'd eventually escape from. He deserved to die."
Rhys stepped closer to Lorelei, taking the gun from her grasp. "Maybe so, but that wasn't your decision to make."
Her eyes met his. "What are you going to do to me?"
The rebel leader glanced Lorelei over, probably considering his options. "Whether you intended to be or not, you are the Murderess."
Peter walked up to Rhys, the receiver in hand. "Sorry to interrupt but we have a situation," Peter said.
Rhys nodded for him to continue.
"I've got a location for the next slave auction. It's in two days. There's at least one courtesan, an emerald virgin, among other valuable young women that could help grow our army," Peter said.
"Everyone pack up, we're moving out!"

Aaron couldn't do it again. He'd been away from the palace for far too long as it were. He slept on the idea, wanting to help but knowing this wasn't his fight. Not really. As it was, his father would be furious and for good reason. Not that the prince had any plan to tell him where he'd been and what he'd been doing. He would be punished.
A small part of him considered not returning, unwilling to face his father, but he wasn't a coward either.
"We need a car," Aaron said, sitting across from Rhys at the safe house. The rebels had planned their next attack for tonight, and many were packing up. The leader seemed quite relaxed, having done these small missions a dozen times over. They intended to strike big and hard, making an impact with a bomb.
"A car? Where are you going?" Rhys asked. "Had enough of the rebel life already?"
Aaron clasped his hands together on his lap. "As much as I would like to stay and help, my father is no doubt looking for me."
"Is he?" Rhys asked. "There's been no announcement publicly made about the missing prince."
"Rhys." Aaron's voice held a hint of warning.
"I'll give you a car. Just promise me you won't tell your father where you've been."
"You have my word."
Chapter Thirteen
Together they drove back toward the palace during the afternoon light. As darkness crept upon the sky, they searched for a vacant home to sleep in. The last thing they wanted was to run into bandits and destroy a second vehicle. In the morning they could finish their journey to the palace.
"Up ahead on the left!" Lorelei pointed at an old home that appeared empty. Whether it was or not, they'd yet to find out.
Aaron pulled the car off the road and they stepped out, walking up to the home. The prince tried knocking first. "Anyone there?"
There was no answer.
Aaron tried the handle and gave the door a hard shove with his body, unlatching the loose lock. Cobwebs littered the inside of the home. Dust marked the ground. No one had been in there for months if not years.
"Probably won't find any worthwhile food," Aaron said.
"It's okay. I'm not really hungry."
Aaron was glad Lorelei had wanted to return with him back to the palace. He wasn't sure she hadn't found her way of fitting in among the rebels. Especially with her history as the Murderess. The rebel people fantasized about her in a way that Aaron felt uncomfortable. They held her in such high regard over something that hadn't happened. At least not in any way that were true. However, Lorelei shooting her uncle had sealed the deal. Rhys had promised her a place back among the rebels, should ever she decide to return.
The prince scoured the home, finding enough candles and a few matches to offer the home a warm amber glow. They sat together on the sofa, talking and relaxing for a little while until they grew tired. Aaron took her hand and led her up the darkened stairwell, bringing a candle with them upstairs to see.
"I really hope the sheets upstairs are clean," Lorelei said. "I'd hate to think a musky dead body could be decomposing on the mattress."
Aaron shot her a look. "The entire house would smell if that were the case. I don't think you have to worry. Except for maybe some dust. We could shake the sheets outside or see if there's a spare set lying around in a closet.
Stepping into the room, he placed the candle onto the dresser. "Come here," he said, pulling Lorelei into his arms.
Together they collapsed onto the mattress, a puff of dust floated into the air.
She laughed and coughed fanning the air around them. "Maybe open a window? This place is horrible."
"We could sleep in the car."
"No. It'll be fine." She untangled herself from his body, walking toward the window. She flipped the lock mechanism and lifted the pane a few inches to let fresh air into the room.
"Come back to bed," Aaron said, gesturing for her to join him.
She slipped out of her shoes and worked the fatigues down her hips and then the shirt over her head, standing in front of him in only panties and a bra. "Tell me you like what you see."
The prince growled as he sat up, his arms snaked around her hips, pulling her to him, needing to touch her. He couldn't just look, he had to be an active part right now with her. "Love it," he said between kisses, dropping his lips to her neck, sucking the sensitive flesh as her skin flushed. Aaron's mouth moved down her chest, aiming for his first intended target as his fingers slipped behind her back, unclasping her bra. He'd had enough of the material and wanted her naked beneath him.
She ran her fingers through his hair and down his back. "Undress for me," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Lorelei helped him remove his shirt and pants. Her fingers grazed over warm skin with her cool hands.
His nipples hardened and he captured her wrists, pinning them above her head. "Keep them here," he commanded.
"Okay. You're in charge."
Smiling, he inched down her body, his lips found her navel, listening to her soft moans and pleas for more as he hooked his fingers into her panties, sliding them down her hips, smelling her sweet scent. It was heavenly, and she was his. His lips descended down onto her soft pink folds. He separated them slowly, listening to her hum from the back of her throat. Her eyes shut, and he knew she was experiencing bliss before he'd even done much to satisfy her desires.
He nuzzled her pussy, dragging his tongue over her wetness as it began to seep out. His tongue stroked her, and his finger circled her swelling bead, as her hips bucked off the mattress. It didn't take long before she was tinkering near the edge. Aaron kept sweeping a gentle finger around her clit before he thrust two fingers into her warmth, kissing a path back up her chest, thrusting his fingers like a cock inside of her.
Her body shuddered beneath him, tightening onto his digits, clenching down as she pulsated around him.
Lorelei gasped for air, breathing hard as Aaron climbed beside her on the mattress, lying his head on the pillow.
It took her a moment to recover before she climbed beneath the blankets, removing his underwear, tossing it out from the sheets as she let it hit the floor. Her fingers grazed the head of his glistening cock, licking the head, and kissing the shaft before she guided him all the way into her throat.
Aaron moaned, drawing nearer, knowing he couldn't hold out much longer. She was sucking his cock and it felt amazing! He opened his mouth, wanting to warn her and after a moment she pulled him out, shifting around on the bed.
Within seconds, he was driving back inside of her, this time into her tight pussy as he guided his cock into her. The room seemed to swelter and spin, but Aaron didn't care. His focus was entirely on Lorelei. He wanted them both to experience pleasure.
She shifted her hips from below, wrapping her legs around him as her back arched off the mattress.
Aaron grunted and moaned, unwilling to silence his passion as Lorelei's inside walls tightened around his cock.
The feeling was overwhelming. His body trembled above and he pulsed, spilling himself inside of her, before rolling off her body. Aaron's heart pounded wildly in his chest. He struggled to keep his eyes open but they fluttered briefly, staring at her smiling face. The prince pulled the covers up over their naked bodies, allowing himself the comfort of falling to sleep, knowing for the night they were both safe.
He felt the bed shift as Lorelei climbed out of bed and blew out the candles. Already he missed her warmth beside him. A moment later she slipped under the covers, curling into his embrace.
* * * * *
Daylight crept into the room but neither of them climbed out of bed. Aaron felt too comfortable and relaxed to consider waking up. He buried himself further under the blankets, surrounded by Lorelei's warm limbs. There was nowhere else he'd rather be. Not even the palace right now.
Eventually they both awoke, as their stomachs grumbled and they realized there wasn't much food to be had in the abandoned house.
They searched from top to bottom, finding clean, though musky scented clothes. It may not have been ideal, but it was better than the dirty clothes on their backs. They dressed before getting back into the car.
"To the palace?" Lorelei asked as she buckled herself in the front seat.
Aaron's stomach grumbled. "The market's closer. Maybe a few hours away still, but we should eat." He knew his father would be livid when they returned. The sooner he ate, the better off it'd be for him. Knowing King Gideon, he'd object to his son being fed in his room after being paddled, instead insisting he join the table like a man or not eat at all. He'd remembered too many uncomfortable nights in the past. Why did he always choose stupidity over bravery? Or maybe he had been brave, just not to his father? He may have been whipped and belted once, but the paddle he was all too familiar with.
Lorelei stared out the window, quiet in thought. Did she worry that she might face the king as well? He probably hadn't even known she'd gone missing. The courtesans would likely be cautious, especially after Aaron had sent two of the girls away.
"What kind of food is at the market?" she asked. "I can't remember the last time I've been."
Aaron smiled, momentarily forgetting that she'd been held captive and probably hadn't gotten out much. "Fruits, vegetables, even some meats but those need to be cooked. I'm hoping for some nice fresh bread or even a pie to bring back."
"It must be nice to not ever have to think about money."
"That isn't true," Aaron said, his tone remained calm. His father provided him with an allowance, but it was probably more than most people made in a year.
"I'm sorry," Lorelei said, quick to apologize.
He reached for her hand, unaffected by the comment. He'd overheard worse from the courtesans when they hadn't known he was listening.
Approaching the market, he parked the car and led her through the stalls, making their way for the vendors selling fresh food. He purchased a bottle of water, sharing it with Lorelei as they came upon a fruit vendor.
"Did you hear what happened this morning at the palace?" a vendor asked, gasping as they locked eyes on the prince. Though Aaron wasn't dressed in his typical attire, his face was well-known among Brayleigh. "I guess you did."
"Palace?" Aaron shook his head. "No. I've been away. What happened?" His stomach plummeted at the thought of anything terrible happening to his brothers or his courtesans. He didn't want anything bad to happen to his father either, but he was at the back of that long list of people Aaron was concerned about.
"Rebels took over this morning. The king, I'm sorry to tell you, but your father, King Gideon is dead."
Momentarily Aaron's world shattered around him. The bottle of water crashed to the ground, his hands slack.
Lorelei bent down, quickly picking it up, her hand then finding its way to Aaron's arm. "I'm so sorry."
He nodded, unsure what to say or how to feel. He didn't agree with his father, didn't always like him, but he never wished the man dead.
Aaron felt physically ill. His hands shook and heart raced. The stalls at the market felt like a maze, trapping him and he desperately searched for an exit, needing air although they were outside.
The warm sun beat down on his skin, forcing sweat to bead at his forehead. Finding the exit, he bent forward, tossing up the empty contents of his stomach: water.
Lorelei came to stand beside him, rubbing his back gently.
Standing up, he took the half-empty bottle of water, wiped the dirt from the lid and took a swig, rinsing his mouth clean.
He'd trusted Rhys and though he knew they both didn't agree with his father's methods, he hadn't intended to fund the assassination of his father. War was coming to Brayleigh, or perhaps it had already arrived.
The End.
