I also want to thank my family, of course. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for always supporting me (and not questioning how I spent my holiday mornings outlining this book). Thank you, Grace, Brian, Chrisanne, and David, my amazing siblings. And, of course, many thanks to Spencer, my best friend and husband, who has never been anything but loving and supportive.

A stolen book is a damaged map:

Seek for treasure, but it's a trap.

If you take what isn't yours,

  Find disappointment behind locked doors.

  Search forever, your strength exhaust,

But never find what you have lost.

Prizes will vanish, hope fades to dust,

Should you steal, and break my trust.
