“Do I get my own gun?” Sophia asked, cocking her head.

  “It’s already waiting for you in the basement,” her mother answered as she flicked a light switch on the wall. Sophia’s eyes widened as the floor opened up and a staircase appeared, leading down to the basement. Her mother started towards the steps and looked at her. “Are you coming?” she asked.

  Sophia turned to look at Noah, who nodded at her with a smile on his face.

  “Definitely,” she answered, heading down the staircase with her mother and Noah.

  Even though she knew her life would never be the same again from this point on, Sophia was ready to face even the scariest vampire. She had her mother and Noah, and she knew they would always have her back.
